Basically this is a blog that I can talk/write/draw about stuff without spoiling for friends or censoring for family-  my fandom/feeling paradice! (fair warning rants may appear on this blog so I can vent and most of my posts don't have image/sound descriptions, my apologies) ... [[25+/ she/they / abro/akio ace]]
Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or donât pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
Worried about what to say?
Bring your personal worries about transphobia being signed into law, and trans friends being excluded from public spaces. You are a living person who deserves dignity. Remind your MP of that. You will also get guidance and brochures from Trans Solidarity Alliance that outlines our demands. This is mine from last year.
Money issues?
Trans Solidarity Alliance provides a travel bursary that you can sign up for via the link.
Got a refusal or no response from your MP?Â
Come anyway! You can request a same-day appointment with your MP through a process called greencarding. They will come and see you if theyâre already in Parliament. Even if they donât, theyâre made acutely aware of your cause because you showed up in person. This is my greencard from last year.
Here is the EHRC Code of Practice in full. It's a tough read, but some highlights are:
Organisations canât provide trans-inclusive, single-sex services, or they risk being sued for discrimination.
e.g. domestic violence support for women including trans women, menâs rugby group including trans men (12.68).
Trans people will have nowhere safe to pee.
If youâre a trans man, businesses can't allow you to pee in the men's, and you can also be ejected from womenâs bathrooms if youâre perceived as a man. Vice versa for trans women. EHRC suggests a âthird spaceâ bathroom, which is discriminatory and unworkable for most businesses. (13.130-133)
Sports organisations must exclude trans people from single-sex competitions (13.73).Â
A womenâs only sports competition must exclude trans women because of their biological advantage or face potential lawsuits (13.74), but a trans man who has undergone testosterone treatment can also be excluded based on fairness rules (13.81).
Trans women are stripped of the legal definition of âlesbianâ, and therefore no longer have legal protections if theyâre discriminated against on the basis of sexual orientation. (2.50, 2.92).
Here is the Good Law Project's better explanation of the EHRC Code.
I have also made a PDF printout of QR codes for the government petition, email your MP tool, and mass lobby link to pass around your communities. DM me and I'll send it to you.
Those who seem to be fixated on the fact that "new ace flag centers love" seems to have forgotten that it was not made for them.
I understand that being a loveless is hard but chill. The flag is not a personal affront to your specific brand of loveless experience.
I also have issues with experiencing love and don't really need it in my life even tho I don't consider myself to be on aro spectrum, and yet I'm not going around and saying bs stuff just to somehow throw the new flag under the bus because it "doesn't fit me". No, some of us are mature enough to understand that not everything is for us and that creating a new flag doesn't mean we are forced to use it or that it tries to replace the old one. In fact the creator themselves said it's not meant to replace and is meant to be used alongside the old ace flag so the new ace flag basically functions in the same way as every micro label ace flag.
I really like the new flag tho. It's pretty. I'm happy that black people in our community have a flag that represents their unique experience.
This is literally a two cakes situation, I do not understand why people are getting mad over being offered more options. Either use it or don't it's that easy.
So I just discovered my personal hack for getting back into drawing without getting hung up on skill making something good is to use crayons.
Like there's just something about them that makes even life drawing more casual, my only regret is not having a larger range of colours but they're still really nice to work with. I'm gaining a soft spot for bluetiful but all the violets are my faves so far.
Ok so I'm gonna be trying to draw some random doodles each day until the crayons run out and I'll be using this post to track myself. Maybe I'll try making some small comics next!

been thinking abt like early pearl and garnet because they have such a funny dynamic to me. Like garnetâs the leader and we see especially in s1 how high of a pedestal pearl holds her on and sheâs like constantly clinging onto her but garnet Wasnât always like that. When we see her rejuvenated shes very naive and innocent and has no clue whats going on ever and she was GENUINELY terrified of pearl when they first met. I feel like for a while they had this dynamic that was like the scene from tangled w eugene and rapunzel right after raps left the tower
Me: "Damn people are REALLY BAD at knowing when to tag their eyestrain art/images...either that or they just don't care about photosenitive epileptic people like me. I feel really sad now."
Person: "But Allison, what if they just don't know or understand what qualifies as eyestrain and what doesn't?"
Me: "You know what? That could be a factor...While it is always better to be safe rather than sorry (so YES people should always tag eyestrain even if they're unsure if it "counts" or not) maybe you've got a point?"
Anyways! HERE'S YOUR HANDY GUIDE TO WHAT CAN COUNT AS EYESTRAIN! I'm pulling this straight from the Artfight rules page about what needs to be labeled and filtered as eyestrain because it's VERY helpful and VERY accurate! I also know not everybody has an AF account and might not always have access to this handy guide, and this is an important resource; That's why I'm sharing it here! (under the cut)
PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!!! THIS IS ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OTHERS!!!
Full eyestrain AF page link
"But Allison! How were you able to screenshot that example if you're so sensitive to eyestrain?"
I dimmed the HELL out of my computer screen and looked away while taking the screenshot and did the same when putting it into this post, that's how lol. BUT YEAH ANYWAYS!!! Once again:

"~identity was confirmed by DNA but it was never officially verified by next of kin. Detective Ishimaru argued the inconsistencies in appearance pointed to a body double - he has been placed on administrative leave and sequestered for his own safety.
The autopsy found evidence of emaciation severe enough to have caused depigmentation of hair follicles, although how this is possible has not been determined. The cause of death however was a blow to the temple from an as of yet unidentified object~"
