"Identity Not Found" 💙♥️ Happy 4 Year Anniversary to me drawing my version of Kage!!
I know it's been a small tradition for me to do a fully blue drawing since it's his main color but red is also kind of important so I tried mixing the two. It would've been more of a split screen but I didn't like it so red text it is.
A little Kage HC blurb: One of his greatest fears is not knowing who he is. His identity was first marked for him when he was shunned as a child for liking DR, even being nicknamed "Creephara" by his classmates because of it. It wasn't until he got into a violent altercation with a student that his reputation was completely ruined to the point his own parents disowned him, pretending that he never existed to prevent his reputation from ruining theirs. Ever since, this event was all anyone knew about him. Not his childhood acting, not his kindness and interests, nothing else. Everyone saw him as this violent, problem child who was just waiting to set off, and he let them believe it, acting scary and intimidating to prevent them from even trying to bully him. However, he started believing it himself. He couldn't distinguish between the person he is and the person that others knew him as which made him start to believe that he really was what others saw him as.
and not to mention the fact that he SUCKS
forgot his birthday im such a fake fan

The way that despite his boring spiel* Kokichi is so ready to believe and trust and work together in chapter one (mf doesn't even investigate) and then the example Monokuma makes of Kaede shatters allat💔💔💔
I don't think Kokichi is used to being distrusted nor alone at all.
He's always been surrounded by DICE*, and he's used to taking care of them as their leader, so his villain persona must be jarring as fuck to abide by, because I don't think it's a mask he has to turn to often. He'd use his leadership skills to calm DICE down outside of a killing game, so I don't think he's as used as it seems to just constantly genuinely upsetting others rather than simply trying to make them laugh*, but he feels like he must start conflict so that Monokuma doesn't do so himself.
He needs to be the scapegoat, but at the same time he does want to be trusted and understood, as he states his intentions clearly more than once. He is written off from the start though- when he expresses grief over death even in chapter one, the others immediately assume that it must be a lie.
Kokichi becomes the embodiment of a lie, of distrust, but he wasn't always that way. And in the end, that's not truly him either*- only the cause of his doom. But that's why he was chosen for the killing game:
His sense of responsibility as a leader was meant to be his downfall.
i don't remember if i ever made a post about this but i was back reading some stuff on discord and found this dumbass concept-
Kokichi is insanely good at picking locks, no lock can stop him no matter the type, but Shuichi is the one who knows how to get into places while ignoring the lock entirely (for detective reasons, ofc)
basically the whole convo around this was Kokichi prefers picking locks and sneaking through areas in ways that leave minimal traces behind, but if Shuichi has to break into a place for detective reasons he's much quicker to do something more brute-force.
basically- he's the kind of fucker to be after some stolen evidence he needs to get ahold of and his solution to it being in a locked building is to chuck a brick through the window. it's not elegant or elusive like Kokichi's methods, but it gets the job done. if they ever teamed up, Kokichi would have to be quick about getting the lock picked before Shuichi can go "fuck it we ball" and break something
