Woman murders man in broad daylight
beautiful like to reblog ratio on this
That's because people are reblogging it every time they see it. Like I'm doing right now lmao
for those who come after.
sometimes i have strong opinions but they're also so inane that halfway through writing a post i'll be like "yeah, this is Absolutely not worth the energy it's taking" and delete everything. but then the opinion is still in my head. and i still want to share it. so within five minutes i go "you know, i bet i can phrase it more succinctly this time" and anyway. you all see where this is going. sometimes i do this four times in a row before i give up on the specific inane opinion and instead write a vague post about the concept of opinions as if that'll satisfy the urge to post the entirety of my inner monologue online. may or may not be relevant to what you're reading right now. and now all our lives have been enriched. you're welcome
I love how Leverage went
Here's the cat burglar. She wears comfy clothes and has zero social skills. She has sex appeal but only if you're into a very specific type of woman, and crucially she has zero idea she has it. She probably doesn't know what an innuendo is.
Here's the hacker. He's a Black nerd, and also the most moral character of the bunch. He's a nerd but also not socially awkward; in fact, he's the second best at grifting, right after the person who's been doing it for decades.
Here's the muscle. In his heart of hearts, he is a chef. He is tough and manly but he uses that to look out for the working class and children and everyone else the system leaves behind. He's feared by politicians and he reminds his friend to tip the delivery person.
Here's the femme fatale. She's over forty years old, and she's the one seducing the mark. She's the heart of the team. Her calling is to be a director. She loves attending her own funeral.
Here's the mastermind. He's the only one who doesn't start out as a career criminal. He manipulates his own crew, kills two people after promising them he won't, and takes deals behind their back. He was in seminary school.
Also, here's their nemesis. He's Mark Sheppard.

PSA: tumblr user littlefuckinmonster is stealing human bones from cemeteries in Louisiana. Please don’t let them get away with this and spread the word/signal boost!
this post is officially a decade old now
For anyone who wasnt around when this happened, this was real. Littlefuckinmonster was actually stealing bones from cemeteries. She is the bone stealing witch. She was specifically stealing bones from poor people. She was arrested for it.
This is not a Goncharov, this literally happened, here’s the Wikipedia article about it.

Since it's mid-august it's time for a reminder for the DIY folks or those who like to cosplay
It's about that time of year again, and after having this circulate for a year now, it interesting seeing some observations:
Despite making this post in August, this post spikes in brief periods throughout the year, depending on when folks like to start.
Reading all the cool costume projects people are working on
Some of you animals reblog this on November 1st
this is GREAT two sentence horror actually
Here at Asshole Castle, we'll rent you an asshole for whatever reason you may desire. Many social obligations, work responsibilities, and civic duties can be gainfully interrupted by the tactical application of some dickhead you don't know. Whether it's loud and proud, like a shirtless dude screaming in the street and throwing bricks at the streetlights, or something more subtle like someone parking in the loading zone for no good reason, we can provide jerks for any situation.
Many of our customers seek us out because they have something they want to avoid. Because of social awkwardness, they feel like they cannot be honest and simply not turn up for that task. For instance, one of our best assholes, Diane, recently annihilated an entire wedding by pooping in the punch bowl. Nobody asked her to – deniability is part of our whole "thing" here – but it got the job done. Everyone got a great story out of it, and our client was able to spend the rest of her Sunday quietly reading at home.
And, critically, if you yourself are an asshole, we've got a job for you. Even in today's asshole-friendly society, it is still very easy to be such a jerk that you become unemployable. We will give you that job, and you can finally get paid for doing what you're good at. Of course, we do have some rules, but at this point, let's be honest. It's either Asshole Castle or faking slip and fall injuries for the rest of your career. Plus, we have dental.
So come on down to Asshole Castle, and see how we can help you obliterate unwanted social obligations. Our incredibly polite customer service team is the best in the world, but don't piss them off, or you'll be finding yourself getting a free sample of our product.

everyday i mourn that my parents did not make me study five languages during my critical window of language acquisition (2 to 7 years)
Hi! Language teacher here!
If there isn't a fluent speaker around to practice with regularly, it doesn't matter how many languages you make a small child study. They aren't going to speak any of them.
I can also confirm (anecdotally) that my adult students learned much quicker than any of the kids I worked with, and exponentially faster than any of the toddlers I taught.
If you want to learn a language, go learn it! You are fully capable of doing so as an adult, and you didn't miss any windows.
The critical window of language acquisition describes the window where-in the brain can acquire the ability to figure out **any** language. It's about sounds/grammar/ the 'system' of language. If you've learned 1 language your brain is capable of using that language system to figure out the rest. If kids learn 0 languages and that window passes they won't be able to figure out languages at all. See the Genie Wiley case for a better example/explanation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genie_(feral_child)

just so yall know
art block is your brain telling you to do studies.
draw a still life. practice some poses. sketch some naked people. do a color study. try out a different technique on a basic shape.
art block doesnt stop you from drawing, it stops you from making your drawings look the way you want them to. and thats because you need to push your skills to the next level so you can preform at that standard
think of it as level grinding for your next work.
As a scientific illustrator- this is 100% true and going to review your basics will fix it every goddamn time. Not only does it keep your skills sharp, when you’re not emotionally invested in the final product of a piece, you relax and your brain makes more/better art juice for you. So, when you get back to that big/important piece? You’ll know what to do and how to do it.
Nothing in nature blooms all year round. Rest, and take care of yourself.
i want someone to put this into writer’s blocks now
Writer’s block means you need to relearn the whole alphabet. idiot.
For writers block- same thing. Do Studies.
Write a description of an object. write the weather today. Write a made up characterization of a random photo of an actor from the internet as to the character they are in that picture. Write a little story about your pet’s day. Write about spilling soup and make it super dramatic and tragic. Write about someone’s day being ruined and make it funny. Write a meetcute coffeeshop AU of two OCs you’d never put together- maybe from different stories. Write them breaking up.
Write a bunch of short stuff meant for no audience ever and super duper self indulgent.

@kanerallels
I found out relatively recently that it really helps if I write short fiction surrounding the novels I write. Like oh? I’m stuck for a bit? Ooh there was that section I wanted to explore but doesn’t fit in the plot really. There was that what-if that could never happen in the actual story but would be fun to explore. It keeps me in the characters’ headspace (tho that’s not always what I’m needing) but not right where they are exactly.
Yes! I have gotten past writers’ block multiple times by writing drabble collections. Making something coherent happen in just 100 words is a very different challenge from writing a long story and it also lets me get past plot points that I don’t want to explore in-depth.
I am also going to have to start drawing studies now…
