My favorite headcanon that just popped into my head was when I was showering I remembered Kane saying the bearded guy tasted like a crab roll that's been out in the sun for too long, so I had the brightest idea that what if the still lives actually had different flavors and even textures and smells?
👩🦰The Redheaded still life tastes like red velvet cake that was about to turn and it's insides is the consistency of very moist and wet cake, it's insides smell like frosting that taste like the pink sugar packets
👨🦽 The Wheelchair (Archibald Leland Sutter) still life tastes like some sort of old candy, preferably butterscotch or caramel flavored cough drops that tastes a bit dusty and it's too sticky like taffy on your teeth and sticky like chewed gum on your hands, smells strongly of menthol that it burns your nostrils
🏴☠️Pirate Clark still life's insides are of course more human because of how quick it developed, but before that I imagine it's insides tasted like upside down pineapple cake but the pineapples and the cherries are over ripe to the point it tastes inedible despite still being edible, it feels very wet to the point you think it'll fall apart in your hands and it smells sickly sweet
🪟The Mary still life tastes like blueberry pie but the blueberries were very mushy and the pie was a bit burnt, it feels sticky like jam or jelly and it smells like very burnt blueberries
Here is my reason as to why I don't think they'd smell or taste that good, the backrooms almost perfectly replicates what it remembers, but it just isn't near right at all
🍰the red velvet cake tastes good but it's about to turn and the icings sugar substitute is the sugar you'd use in tea or coffee
🍬the cough drops are still cough drops, they still taste the same, but they're completely useless because it's expired
🍍the pineapple upside down cake looks absolutely perfect and delicious, but ironically the fruits that are the whole point of the cake taste too sickingly sweet to the point it tastes expired even though you just made it
🫐the blueberry pie looks gorgeous especially with the crispy crust, but you cooked it for too long and now the blueberries smell and taste burnt inside
