The world lost an angel a couple of years ago when my sweet grandmother, Yiayia Aphrodite, passed away. Today, we held a memorial service in her honor, the culmination of a week of exhausting preparations and emotional ups and downs. This Greek tradition is such an amazing thing- so many rituals, so much symbolism, and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to learn these traditions and remember so much about my Yiayia. Many thanks for all the help and support from my family which made this day even more special.
