Surprisingly, I really like making pact boons for Warlock. Here’s one that’s focused on hitting in succession to rack up combo point and spend those points for special maneuvers. Hope you enjoy!

Rogue: New year, new me! *burns off fingerprints*
And we’re back to making spells! I had a bit of fun with this one.
I’m frankly surprised this isn’t already a spell, cursing someone to croak is a classic in fiction.
Croak. Shuts up enemy casters, rivals making speeches, and the -2 Intelligence Barbarian who’s about to reveal just what went down at the bachelor party.
Reality Tear
6th Level (conjuration, chronurgy)
Casting Time: 1 action Range: 60 ft (20-foot sphere) Components: V, S, M (a crystal prism) Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute Class: Wizard
Choose a point in space that you can see within range. You open a tear in reality from a random plane, affecting a 20-foot-radius sphere. Roll a d6 to determine what damage and saving throw a tear deals.
1 Plane of Fire. Fire Dexterity save 2 Plane of Water. Cold Constitution save 3 Shadowfell. Necrotic Constitution save 4 Plane of Earth. Bludgeoning Strength save 5 Feywild. Poison Constitution save 6 Plane of Air. Slashing Strength save
When a creature enters the area of a tear for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it must make a saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 6d6 damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.
All damage caused by this spell ignores resistance to damage of the chosen type and creatures immune to damage of the chosen type have resistance instead.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, you can choose one more point in space to open a tear.
*Requires feedback. Is this spell appropriate for its level? Should you be able to open multiple tears or should there only be one? If there are multiple tears, does the damage work out? If the spell is a single tear, should the damage or the area of affect increase? Is the language of the spell clear?
This spell is intended to face off against some of the most common resistances in dnd while also having the chance to deal damage if you don’t get what you need. The biggest con that I’m aware of is that this spell affects all creatures, including allies.
I’m aware about the faux chart being weird. Until I can figure out homebrewery, this is what I can do.
The Pantheon Domain - A 5E Cleric Subclass Homebrew. For the cleric whose faith is as fickle as the gods themselves. Great for roguelite lovers. You’ll have to figure out what you can do with the tools at your disposal every day. Links in reblog!
A few days late, but here is the last set of Inktober 2020 themed potions! This was a really fun project and the first time I’ve actually finished Inktober… albeit, without doing any actual ink…But definitely a good challenge and I’m glad to see so many of you enjoying this series and wanting to use it for your games!
Which one is your favorite from this set? Which one is your favorite out of all the sets?? Let me know!! :D
💎 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Astral Caltrops Wondrous item, rare ___
As an action, you can spread these magic caltrops over a square area that is 5 feet on a side. Any creature that enters the area must succeed on a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or stop moving this turn and take 1 piercing damage. When this happens, the caltrops explode in a burst of extraplanar energy, destroying the caltrops and dealing 6d6 force damage to the creature and causing it to rise vertically up to 20 feet, as if by the "levitate" spell. The creature remains suspended in this way for 1d4 rounds, during which time its speed becomes 0. The effect ends early if the creature takes any damage.
When the caltrops are spread on the ground, they become nearly invisible and float up to 1 inch off the ground. A creature notices the caltrops with a successful DC 20 Wisdom (Perception) check. You can reclaim the invisible caltrops for later use with 1 minute of careful searching and collecting. The caltrops stop floating and become visible once they’re reclaimed in this way. ___

Flavor is your friend in fifth edition as a player. Just how you describe the appearance of what you do can define major aspects of your character. Playing a warlock who uses their fists to attack? Why not just cast Eldritch Blast and flavor it as you imbue your fists with arcane energy to attack? Heck you can make multiple attacks this way due to multiple beams. Someone is gonna say in the notes how would you punch an enemy 30 feet away as per the range of Eldritch Blast? Use your imagination! Maybe you launch energy spectres of your fists or perhaps the power of your strikes are so great that the aftershocks reach that far! Sure spells and stuff have set descriptions of their appearance but why let that stop you! I say make these things your own as you are in fact the person using them. Make Fireball one of the trademark spells a literal sun! That rather than exploding just temporarily envelops the radius of the spell!
I see that wizards of the coast have been taking notes from this post with Tashas Cauldron!
I just want to state that my addition of how Wizards of the Coast took notes from this post is a joke and I in no way a Tumblr Blog think that I’m the first person to ever think of the idea of flavoring spells or that Wizards of the coast a big company is ripping off my post. Didn’t think I’d have to clarify that but here I am. I even put #jk…..unless in the tags of the joke addition about Tasha’s Cauldron.
Got a few replies that were kinda mean saying that, and how I should try other rpgs besides D&D. Which first off I have and do play semi-regular ttrpgs like Shadowrun, Call of Cthulhu, Risus, Escape from Triassic Park, Mother Fuckin Crab Truckers to name a few. Also check those out!
The reason this blog has a heavy focus on D&D is because that’s what my friends and I mainly enjoy playing. We do play other games.
I just got a little bummed cause I rarely get interactions from people through reblogs or replies so for it to be kinda mean made me sad.
People truly have no reading comprehension huh?
Anyway I really appreciate and enjoy your posts! People being mean is just, super unnecessary and unwarranted
This one is an item I gave to my players in one of my games (the modern one with all the undead). In order to get it, they had to summon the ghost of Olaf, a legendary swordsman who died 1,100 years ago, and impress him with feats of strength. He then showed them a secret chamber in his barrow where the sword was hidden. He was a fun character.
Ok, serious monster… serious. I was thinking about Bugles, the chip. this is like if a Xorn and a bugle got weird and there was screaming.
Critical Fate
7th Level (divination, chronurgy)
Casting Time: 1 action Range: 15 ft Components: V, S, M (A black pearl worth 500 gp, which the spell consumes) Duration: Instantaneous Class: Wizard
Choose a willing creature you can see within range. Until the end of the target’s next turn, they have advantage on all attack rolls and can score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
*Requires feedback to balance the spell.
Corrosion
3rd Level (transmutation)
Casting Time: 1 action Range: Self Components: V, S, M (Pinch of rust or a vial of acid) Duration: 1 minute Class(es): Artificer, Druid, Warlock, Wizard
Green rust covers your arms. When you cast this spell, choose one of the following options, the effects of which last for the duration of the spell. While the spell lasts, you can end one option as a bonus action to gain the benefits of a different one.
Destructive Rust. You touch a non-magical, ferrous metal object. Causing it to rust and weaken. Tiny objects like Iron locks, keys and door hinges break immediately upon touch. Small or larger iron objects, such as an anvil or vault door, automatically take 3d10 acid damage. All hits to an object weakened in this way are critical hits.
Corrode Weapon. Make a melee spell attack against a target wielding a non-magical metal weapon. On a hit, you deal 3d10 acid damage to the target. After dealing damage, their weapon takes a permanent and cumulative -1 penalty to damage rolls. If its penalty drops to -5, the weapon is destroyed.
Acidic Touch. Make a melee spell attack against a target. You have advantage on the attack roll if the target is wearing armor made of metal. On a hit, you grapple the target. While grappled, you can use a bonus action to deal 3d10 acid damage. If you are grappling a target that is wearing metal armor, you reduce their AC by 2.
*requires feedback about the usefulness of the options. Should some of these options be their own spell? Are they powerful enough the way they are or should an option change? I had trickster rouges in mind when making this spell. It’s quite powerful for them.
