I recently found out that if you pick certain characters they'll have a little back and forth at the start of a match... But only on the offline versus mode, which I only touched once or twice.
It's the 1st anniversary of Bleach Rebirth of Souls.
Going to replay it, see if my thoughts on it have changed since doing a full playthrough on release. And a VERY slight dabbling with the TYBW Ichigo and Unohanna DLC.
Been doing some Paint Rando lately, and for those of you who just thought 'What the hell is Paint Rando?' I'm glad you asked.
Paint Rando is where you choose an image and try to recreate it in Paint. You start with a small part of the canvas, and two tools. As the match percentage increases you unlock more canvas, tools, colour depth and colour palettes.
Mainly been doing it as a warm up but finding it to be a lot of fun. Also making me think about "HOW" to draw differently. No layers in Paint, no soft brushes in Paint. Doesn't even have an eraser.
The seed is cleared at 80% match, for reference this is what 80% was for the Rangiku & Momo.
So you don't HAVE to completely perfectly recreate the image to "clear" the seed. I thought at this point I may as well finish it. The finished version was only 86% match all up.
If I've piqued your curiosity Paint Rando can be played entirely in browser so no new software or such required.
The Archipelago site has everything you need to try it out for yourself.
I am playing it, just wanted to spend some time with it and get my thoughts in order.
And under the read more it kinda gets more of a downer as it goes.
And I think for the most part it's...fine? It reminds me a lot of Bleach Mobile 3D.
I appreciate the variety in level objectives however I don't feel it controls super well, which makes some things more difficult than it needs to be.
In a stage you'll be juggling between characters that have different play styles, look to land counters, evade attacks which means keeping an eye on the enemies so you're constantly fighting the camera.
So I tend to just let the auto handle it. It still dodges and counters, knows how every character is played. And just does everything way smoother than I can.
So you can probably tell I don't really care for the main "Combat" levels. I AM much more enjoying the mini-games on offer though. Which are only available for certain periods of time, so enjoy them while you can.
They all offer materials which with how stingy the game is with them makes doing these very worthwhile.
While I am sad to report the Orihime cooking mini game is NOT in fact a cooking game...but a math deduction game instead. Where you have to guess the flavour value of the ingredients used to make a dish.
However the Rukia chappy reports are absolutely 10/10 perfect no notes.
I do want to address what I don't know for sure is in the game or not but has poisoned the water for me.
If only they didn't do THAT to Chad...
WHY IS HE WHITE??!!! 😭😭😭😭
A week out from the games release it was going around that some of this games assets were made with generative ai. Which the Devs themselves never said anything about. Instead the only person who said anything was Rozuberry who showed the work she did for the title screen.
THEN the day before release, they collaborated with an ai singer for a cover of Rolling Star... Also the release in some regions is partnered through Crunchy Roll... So not only their own bad things but Crunchy Rolls on top too...
So uh... That's made it very easy for me to not give them a cent. And also incredibly suspicious of the art assets in the game.
So yeah... Sad cos I was really looking forward to it, after Rebirth was extremely whelming, and Brave Souls is being Brave Souls...
I do think it's funny that Tumblr somehow avoided Australia's social media ban, unrelated did you know NordVPN is offering a 73% discount on its 2 year plan?
