i dont consider myself a 'fashion guru' by any means but one thing i will say is guys you dont need to know the specific brand an item you like is - you need to know what the item is called. very rarely does a brand matter, but knowing that pair of pants is called 'cargo' vs 'boot cut' or the names of dress styles is going to help you find clothes you like WAAAYYYY faster than brand shopping
this also goes for aesthetic or -core titles. 'y2k tank top' is going to get you resellers and fast fashion brands advertising to people looking to meet a current trend. 'thin strap crop tank top' is going to get you a diverse group of results and not upcharge you to hell and back
additionally, shop second hand when you can, second hand and thrift sites typically organize clothes by the cut and color. theyll be more affordable than a depop seller curating you a style to sell you

Apparently a part of the reason why farmed bees stay in the beehives that humans build for them is because the farm hives are safer and sturdier. I don't know how a busy Discord server's worth of bugs that only have one brain cell each would logically conclude that the humans protect them from outside threats, illness and parasites, but if I understood right, the bees would be free to move away and build a new nest somewhere else any time they'd want, and they simply choose not to.
You know how in almost every culture, people have some concept of "if I sacrifice something that I made/grew/produced to the Gods, they will ward me and my harvest from evil"?
So, in a way, don't the bees willingly sacrifice a part of their harvest to an entity not only far greater than them, but nearly beyond their comprehension, in exchange for protection against natural forces wildly outside of their own control?
So tell me, beekeepers, what are you to your bees, if not a mildly eldritch God?
I don’t know about other cultures, but in English folklore, when a beekeeper dies someone has to go out and tell the bees.
Imagine you’re a neolithic hunter-gatherer, just hanging out, sacrificing stuff to your god, when a new god you’ve never met before shows up and tells you that your god is dead, it’s not your fault or anything, and maybe a new god will come along to take care of you, maybe not, it’s gonna be touch and go for a while
Apparently in medieval Europe they also whispered secrets to the bees.
So imagine the mildly eldritch God you worship talks to you and tells you secrets, but these secrets make no sense to you and are incomprehensible to understand or even know they are secrets. But your God does make vibrations at you, so thats probably a good thing right??
Also occasionally the Swarm decides there is not enough room in the Hive because the eldritch god didn't take the offering of Honey at their normal time. So enough of a Swarm builds up that the second queen is able to leave without decimating the first Swarm. They are all set to search out a new place that will likely not have your God anymore (but really that's not too much of a struggle, they have abandoned you, that's part of why you've left, even though the first Swarm still holds out hope for their return).
And then, the scouts find another Hive right next to the old Hive. Literally right next to it. So the Queen lands to inspect it and wow, it's a good deal. The area already has enough food to support 2 Hives, so it's a not problem to stay in the area now that they have the space, but...this wasn't here before.
And then you see God, they've come to help the Swarm move to the new Hive and take the offering from the old Hive. Truly this must have been their plan all along
In English folklore, you ALSO have to invite your bees to your wedding, and decorate their hive, and leave a slice of cake for them, and also bring your new spouse by to introduce them to the hive straightaway. Imagine your eldritch god doing THAT.

I'm really starting to get into journal games
Since I hide my replies to keep my blog tidy, a lot of you have been asking questions about these types of games! I'm new to them, but here's what I know!
Journal games - or single player tabletop games - are pretty much what they sound like! They're games where you answer prompts or respond to results on a random dice table from the POV of a character, usually in a journal (but sometimes it can be using social media, voice recordings, etc). I find them fun because I get to practice writing, and I can play them in my downtime.

Help!
My mom thinks I'm spending too much time using my phone and reading, and not studying. How she expects me to study when my school is a joke and the world is crumbling, I don't know, but that is a whole other post.
She also found out that I use Tumblr, and she's furious. I'm literally not allowed to be on any social media platform, so she wants me to delete my Tumblr now.
Anyway, after many hours of lectures and yelling and tears, and explaining what exactly Tumblr is, she's decided that if this post gets

Human Collectibles
(Gus x Matt)

Gus sighs softly as he sits with Willow and Luz. Once again, he was pining over Mattholomule who was sitting close by, his nose in a book about human items. Luz and Willow continuously try to get him to talk to Matt, but Gus refuses. Although its been years, He wasn’t to sure on where they stood after the whole battle for presidency of H.A.S. went down. Gus has since then not only rejoined, but has reclaimed his presidency position. Matt apologized, but it was hard to tell if it was sincere or not. However, that didn’t stop Gus from forming feelings.
“I wonder which item human collectible is on?” Gus gives out a breathy sigh as Luz and Willow give each other that look. Human collectible, Gus’ code word for Matt. It was a full proof code, with Gus’ obsession with humans and all. “I want to know so bad, think i could get a glance as I walk by?”
“Probably,” Willow says before sipping on her drink, “or you could just go over and ask which page he’s on.” Both her and Luz giggle once Gus starts to get flustered and coming up with so many excuses as to why he couldn’t just do that. They tease him for a little bit before easing up. Before anyone could say anything else Matt gets up from his table and heads for the the library. Gus just stares softly at him as he goes and Luz’s eyes go wide.
“Ooooo maybe you should follow him, I mean it’s not like it’s weird for you to be in there. If he’s going to the human section, maybe you guys will reach for the same book and dramatically brush hands.” Luz says as she does dramatic poses. Gus blushes even more as he hides in his hands, but soon he is raised up by the arms by Liz and Willow who begin to drag him to the library.
“Now don’t come out until either you’ve talked to him or next class starts.” Willow says as they put him inside the library. Gus’ little heart is pounding so hard as he turns to face the library. He can’t do this, what if Matt still hates his guts? He wouldn’t be able to survive the humiliation or the heartbreak. With a heavy sigh he goes over to the human section and begins to scan for any new material, but instead he sees Matt putting away the book he was just reading. Gus freezes for a moment before trying to hide. Oh he was in a pickle. What was he possibly going to do? A plan, he needed a plan.
“Uh Gus?” Gus gives a small help before looking up to see Matt looking down at him. Gus’ cheeks darken as he tries to speak but can’t find the words. “What are you doing?” Matt asks with a hard to read expression.
“Nothing!” He proclaims while suddenly standing up and hitting his head on the shelf. “Hehe, absolutely nothing. Why you need a some help on uh Human items?” Gus said with a semi cracking voice.
“Actually Yea, I’m trying to find a specific one.” Gus smiles but does his best not to look Matt in the eyes.
“Of course, what is it? I can probably tell you anything you want to know about it.” Gus had that overly confident look on his face before turning to Matt. Fake it until you make it.
“Oh great,” He looks down at his books before looking back at Gus. “I’m looking for the book that contains human collectibles in it, but I’m having trouble finding it. I’ve heard you mention it before, and the way you go on about makes it sound really amazing...” Matt continues to talk, but Gus tunes him out. Matt’s heard him talk passionately about human collectibles, his code word for Matt. Oh this was bad, so, so bad. “Or you know you could just tell me about the- Gus, are you listening?” Matt waves his hand in front of Gus face and Gus snaps out of it.
“Huh? Oh uh, I mean if you want to learn more about human things, I’d uh be more then happy to uh tell you everything I know.” His face must be a whole shade darker with how hard he’s blushing. “
“That’d be awesome. Uh we can hang out after school some time if you’d like.” Gus smiles brightly and nods as they make plans. “Cool, see you after school.” Matt waves to him as he takes off from the
Gus has to practically stop mid whoop after Matt leaves when he’s shushed by the people in the library. He apologizes softly before leaving and telling Luz and Willow the good news.
Months had gone by, and Matt and Gus met after school on the same day every week. Gus still got very flustered, but he genuinely enjoyed getting to know Matt more. He was funny, and pleasant to be around. They even made better amends for the whole battle of presidency thing. On one of these days, Matt was unusually quiet when Gus arrived.
“Hey man, what’s wrong?” Gus says with a concern as he sits down across from him. Matt forces a smiles and just shakes his head.
“Ah just thinking, what sort of tidbits do you have today.” Gus wasn’t convinced and kept pressing. “Alright, alright.” Matt laughs out as he shakes his head. “Well you’ve taught me a lot about Human stuff, but I’m really curious about the one you always talk about.”
“I don’t follow.” Gus says confused. “You’re gonna have to specify.” Matt blushes a bit, though that could be Gus’ imagination.
“You know, the one you always go on and on about. The human collectibles?” Gus freezes for a moment. “I mean I can understand you calling them that to Willow, but Luz would know what you’re talking about.” Gus looks at Matt again, and this time he’s sure Matt was blushing. “I just, the only real reason I got interested was because you talked about it so much.” The influction on the word you made Gus blush even more.
“I-uh-“ Gus wasn’t ready for this to end, he wasn’t ready to confess. “I- I COMPLETELT FORGOT THAT I PROMISED LUZ AND WILLOW THAT ID- uh HELP THEM WITH THEIR HOMEWORK! Yea, yea I’m such ditz, we can uh catch up tomorrow or next week right?” Gus begins to stand up but Matt immediately catches his wrist.
“No you didn’t, I know for a fact both Willow and Luz have separate plans today.” Matt frowns when Gus looks down at him. “Just- I want to know, but I guess you don’t have to tell me...” Matt whispers something under his breath, and even as Gus sat back down, he kept a hold of his wrist. “I thought we were getting along, do- do you still not trust me?”
“Wh-What? No th-thats not it at all!” Gus says as he claps his other hand over his. “I’m just-“ he groans as he looks down.
“You just what Gus?” Matt says with a saddened tone.
“I just don’t want to... ruin this.” Gus takes a chance and looks up at Matt to see him look surprised. “I really enjoy spending time with you and- Ahh I stink at this.” Matt blushes before putting his other hand on Gus’
“The only way you could ruin this, is by saying befriending me was all a joke.” Gus looks at him and Matt has the softest look on his face. “So you know, I think we’re on the same page now.” He looks away embarrassed but makes no attempt to let go.
“Yea... I think we are.” Gus says with a happy smile. They both laugh for a moment, as the continue to hold hands. Gus then tells Matt that he had used Human collectibles as a code name for him. Matt laughs and shakes his head as he explains he was fully convinced it was actual human items he was talking about.
“So uh, guess I’ll see you at school.” Matt nods happily as he looks at Gus. Gus takes a deep breath before going in to kiss Matt’s cheek, but unknown to Gus was that Matt was doing the same thing, and they ended up kissing on the lips. They blush like crazy and then laugh together as they keep holding hands.

This was so much fun to write! (be sure to read the notes at the end!)
With a heavy sigh, Tim plops down onto his bed with the Robin suit in his hands. He stretches it above is head and furrows his brow in confusion. Before now, things didn’t feel this... complicated. He was so sure of himself and his want to be the next boy wonder. He was so excited, but once the costume was actually on he felt so uncomfortable.
He of course blamed the suits tightness, but hearing how that woman referred to him as the boy wonder made him feel so conflicted. Perhaps it was the pressure of living in Dick and Jason’s shadows? There’s so much to live up to, was he truly ready? His head rushed with so many scenarios of what made him so uncomfortable. Now his head was pounding and with frustrated grunt, he threw the costume away from him as he turned over and hid into the pilloiw he was clutching onto.
“Ok geez I’ll come back later.” A joking voice came from the doorway. Tim felt a course of fear, thinking for a moment that it was Bruce, but it was Dick. The joking look he had on his face softened into concern when he saw how upset Tim looked. He sits on the bed as Tim desperately tries to dry his tears.
“I-I didn’t know you were coming today?” The corner of his eyes felt raw as he kept wiping away the leaks from his eyes.
“It was a surprise visit, wanted to see how your first real mission as Robin went. From the looks of it not so good huh?” Tim looks at him with surprise and shakes his head causing Dick to look confused.
“No, no the mission went surprisingly well. This,” he gestures to himself and the suit, “is nothing. I’ll be fine.” He forced a smile, but Dick didn’t look convinced.
“It’s not nothing if it’s making you this upset. I know Bruce has this whole thing about emotions when in uniform, but right now you’re Tim not Robin.” He puts a hand on his shoulder and gives him a reassuring smile. After a few moments of contemplating, Tim broke down and told Dick everything; how he felt about the costume, his worries of not living up to the expectations of being Robin, and how he’s disappointed since he’s dreamed of this for so long. Dick listens carefully, letting Tim get everything out of his system before offering his advice.
“Are you sure that’s the issue?” Tim looks even more confused. “From what you said, this all stems from being called the boy wonder.” Tim stiffens at the name, unaware of how much until he relaxes. “So is it the stigma behind the name, or the name itself?” Tim’s brow furrow’s with frustration.
“I-I don’t know!” He covers his mouth suddenly; he didn’t mean to yell. “I’m sorry I just- I don’t know what im feeling and its- its so hard.” The tears blur his vision as he holds himself, but immediately melts into the hug Dick gives him. He sniffles softly as his lip trembles. “I love being Robin, it’s something I've always wanted to be...” he tries to wipe the tears from his eyes, but fresh tears immediately form, keeping his vision blurry.
The two sit in silence for what felt like hours. Dick wanted to help, but was drawing a few blanks. He rubs Tims back softly just waiting for him to calm down.
“Do-” Dick freezes a moment, unsure if he should say anything, but if he doesn’t mention it how could they cross it off the list. “Do you think that you’re having issues with being the /boy/ wonder?” Tim tenses, especially they way Dick says boy. “It’s possible that being a boy makes you uncomfortable, not being Robin. Fresh tears fall.
“I- I don’t know...”
“We can try using different pronouns. Maybe start with they/them and then try she/her if you want.” When dick receives a small nod he smiles. “We can also just call you Robin. It’s a pretty gender neutral name. “I’m sure Bruce can have a new outfit made for you.”
“I don’t want Bruce to know!” There was fear in their eyes. “N-not until im sure y- y’know?” Dick offers a smile before ruffling their hair.
“Bruce doesnt have to know until you’re ready Robin.” They felt themselves calm down the moment they are referred to as Robin. It felt better then Tim.
“Thank you Dick.” They hug him tight before laying down, now physically and emotionally drained. Dick offers a smile before leaving them to rest. It’d be hard to hide from Bruce, but luckily Bruce knows better than to bombard Robin with questions or accusations.
Over the course of two months, Dick varies the pronouns for Robin. At first he starts using they/them. Robin visibly seemed happier with this change. When dick began using she/her though, Robin told him that they liked they/them better.
The costume hadn’t changed though, Robin was afraid of Bruce finding out too soon. Dick decided that when he could, he would deter the crowd from using he/him pronouns. For the most part, the crowd went with it. They claimed to see that Robin had long hair or that its too dark to really see. It made Robin feel better.
Robin sits by themselves, enjoying the clear night sky. They’d be lying if they said they weren’t skeptical at first. They never even considered themselves non-binary, but they do admit it feels nice. Only Dick knew about this, but having one person was better then nothing. They continue to think about who else they could trust with this information.
“You need to tell him, or at least tell him that you want the costume changed. Your comfort is important.” Dick says as he catches Robin sitting outside by themselves. Robin jumps slightly, not hearing him as they were lost in thought.
“I- I know...” They sigh softly before coming through their hair. “I’m just scared... what if-” They shake their head before covering their eyes. “What if he kicks me out?” It took a lot to surprise Dick, he never even considered that being Bruce’s reaction. “I mean, I just hear all of these horror stories of kids getting kicked out and it makes me worried. It’s so hard to tell what he’s thinking sometimes...”
Before Dick could say anything, Bruce walks past him. He was definitely too quiet. Robin freezes when they see Bruce and begin to panic. What was he going to say; is he angry? Not knowing almost brought Robin to tears, but they couldn’t cry. When Bruce was close enough, he stares down at Robin. He opens his mouth to speak, but closes it quicky. That did it, and Robin couldn’t stop the tears from falling.
With wide eyes, Bruce kneels down before pulling Robin into a tight hug. Dick smiles at the sight while Robin looks up at the sky, the stars looking streaky and blurred from their tears. Bruce whispers softly, so softly they almost can’t hear it at first.
“I should have never made you think you couldn’t come to me. I’m sorry.” Robin’s eyes widen before hugging Bruce back and burying their face in his shoulder. Relief courses through them and the worry washes away. This was their home, and they were loved.
(A/N: ok i just don’t want anyone getting mad at me for using he/him pronouns in the begining. My idea was to start using they/them pronouns when they realized they were in fact nonbinary. I’ve talked with the commissioner and they are fine with it)
