Ysengrin and Chancellor Bernard are bastards, sometimes they will be mean to those asking them questions but it would not be my own opinion, just them being in-character. Brace yourself

I don't think it is THAT needed to have seen the movie to play along. They are essentially "evil gay cunning manipulative effeminate donkey politician/Churchman who wants to be king and to be immortal" and "evil angry bully manipulative manly wolf military who has a huge grudge against the hero for always winning"

The events of this blog mainly happen before the movie's events. But you can perfectly ask them about the movie or whatever happens after its events. In which case, it would follow my headcanon that after they finished their jail sentences and humiliating punishments they would end up banished out of the kingdom, stripped off their titles and having to start from scratch far away from it, and they'd be looking like this :

This can count as an Ysenard (Ysengrin X Bernard) blog, since I ship it, but their relationship is essentially exes with benefits who are in denial about their feelings, so if you have any romantic ask it will be either answered through a flashback or through their current opinion

This meme came to me in a dream when I realized that as unfortunately lighthearted as Hersent's evil is ("hahaha abuse from a wife and sexual harrassment from a woman can make great gags") at LEAST she is unironically a better depiction of an abusive wife in a furry cartoon, especially since I love to ship her husband Ysengrin with the Chancellor as toxic as they are so it also adds cheating yaoi in the mix. Stella I love you but just for your wasted potential, you could have been a much better character but alas things turned different

Considering that Disney’s Robin Hood was also highly inspired by the French Medieval Tales, “Le Roman De Renart” (or better known in english “Reynard The Fox”) other than the Robin Hood and his Merry Men Legend (which it is its Main Target Adaptation), I’d figure why not draw some Two Legendary Folklore Figures (using the 70s Disney Adaptation and even the Oniria 2005 Adaptation of Renart) meeting up with each other. Basically, Inspiration meets its own Inspired Original. Seriously, if you haven’t seen or heard of the French 2005 Movie, “Le Roman De Renart”, please go check it out, I’d recommend it. As a kid and teen this scene was hilarious for how it could be cringey and embarrassing. As an adult I cringe because holy shit this is rape played for laughs the same way she abuses her husband for laughs. Essentially it is funny because she is a woman while if she were a man it would be played straight

This is literally a tale from the original Roman de Renart

The classic priest and demon AU. I know it's cliché for ships with a high sexual tension like Bernard and Ysengrin but it would fit them. However, despite being a cardinal in the actual continuity it's Ysengrin the priest here because 1) Ysengrin in his first appearance the Ysengrinus (book preceding Le Roman de Renart) he was a Catholic priest before it got retconned for next works as a noble so it could be a nice throwback and 2) TELL ME Bernard wouldn't be a perfect slutty demon. I can see him as Valefar or something like that

Guide to the lyrics' meaning : knowing the Sun means God, being above all and symbolizing time passing, and the sunshine/light/sunlight being the King since being "chosen" by God, and that he is mostly mad at time and fate (thus God) and killing the King is just a way to finally follow his ruling ambitions especially since he does know he can't kill God anyway so someone gotta pay, and the last paragraph being him imagining all the potential dark forces inside the Cave of Curses that would allow his dream come true ane ready to embrace them as mysterious and probably dangerous as they are. Also my HC Bernard had a rich Maurish merchant father who only cared about success no matter the way and a religious Spanish mother, and that both wanting power despite being a commoner, influenced by his father's dishonesty and influenced by his mother's way of life figured out becoming a priest would be the best way through politics

Holy shit this song can fit Chancellor Bernard too. Missing his younger beautiful days (obvious given how much he tajes care of himself and puts on tons of makeup with that heavy eyeliner that probably hides his wrinkles) and still seeing himself as hot shit as well as not wanting to ever die and feeling like he was robbed off his life wasting his youth only obeying the monarch instead of being the one himself and having to obey him no matter how incompetent he is as well as finding the young queen (so other monarch) super annoying and overshadowing him since she is a good influence on the king, plus he mingles with poisons and potions/alchemy/chemistry with a secret lab too, feels deep disdain and oppresses the poor, is vainquished by a peasant/pauper and has a stronger taller not-so-secret acolyte ; and the monarch(s) could be the "Sun" or "light"

Holy shit Bernard and Yzma from both Kingdom of the Sun and The Emperor's New Groove are similar
