happy pride month for it/its users, polyamorous people, xenogenders, non-transitioning trans people, and other "weird" identities. btw
celestia is such a funny character like she's constantly manipulating twilight and friends to do shit instead of just asking and you could arguably frame that as being bc she's a "god" and pushing fate to her design or whatever, except that she engages with the group like a normal and relatable person, which makes it more like villainous machinations, except 90% of this manipulation goes towards things like "I don't want my party to be boring shit again. put my little country girl blorbos in there with zero prep so they fuck it up bad"
you think you've fucked anything up around princess celestia and she's like heh. no worries. all according to keikaku
Celestia instantly makes more sense as a character when you ignore the princess stuff and remember that she's a 1000+ years old wizard. Of course she does manipulative trickster stuff to teach moral lessons and/or cause chaos to amuse herself, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course sometimes she's actually socially awkward and bad at personal relationships and has bad ideas that she thought were good that result in her eating shit embarrassing style, that's classic wizard behavior. Of course she lets the aristocrats and nobles run around being assholes she's still running on wizard advisor programming, she's basically trying to merlin the entire upper class of equestria instead of just a king and some knights. "Yeah uuhhh we'll release the incarnation of chaos himself from his ancient prison because we think this shy girl can be friends with him", terrible plan if you're thinking like a ruler, amazing plan if you're thinking like a wizard. Just look at Canterlot 'Castle' for five seconds and ask yourself if that's in any way a castle. No. Wizard tower, yes. Wizard.
You are so right actually

The Eridian science teams try soooo hard to be soooo normal about Grace. "He helped save our entire planet, we cant experiment on him!" "Hes a whole ass intelligent being, the biodome isnt like a zoo enclosure at all we swear." "Rocky might actually kill us if we try and add enrichment things to the biodome just to see what happens. It'll seem like an insult to Grace's intelligence."
Meanwhile Grace is just waiting in anticipation for someone to ask for a chunk of his hair or something. Hes lowkey curious as to what theyd find. Hes fine with being a creature to them its chill he gets it as a fellow intellectual and all around curious guy who insisted on watching Rocky eat.
Many such cases
Human Rocky!!! Been loving everyone drawing him as James Ortiz <3
I’ve started using chewing sticks to brush my teeth and tbh I’m surprised that zero waste people aren’t all over these things.
Chewing sticks are basically sticks from specific trees that you strip some of the bark off, chew to loosen up the inner fibers, and then brush your teeth with said fibers. You cut off the fibers every other day and strip off more bark so the sticks also force you to keep replacing your toothbrush a bit better than normal ones do because you’re literally whittling them down to nothing over time.
No toothpaste required because the sticks naturally have fluoride in them and being, you know, sticks, they’re biodegradable by nature. So no plastic from the toothpaste because there is no toothpaste and no plastic from the stick because it’s a stick.
Some brands sell them wrapped in plastic but you know, not all of them do that. And you can get a reusable container to put them in when you’re not using them.
But because zero waste people are super into finding complicated ways to reduce plastic usage I was surprised I’ve never heard of these things being discussed in the zero waste YouTube channels I’ve watched. They talk about like bamboo toothbrushes and refillable toothpaste and whatnot. Not chewing sticks.
I’m using them because I can just keep one in my pocket in its little container and they’re super stiff and my gums need strengthening according to my hygienist. (Note if you decide to use these things your gums might bleed the first few times because the fibers are so stiff)
I’m not really using them for environmental reasons but they seem like the sort of thing that extreme tree huggers would like. But no, the only people using chewing sticks seem to be me and people trying to make sure they don’t accidentally swallow toothpaste during Ramadan.
All three of them have moments of feeling like a third wheel.
For Rumi, it's in the moments that reminds her just how much she missed. In inside jokes that were born in vulnerable moments that she refused to let herself be a part of. In the way Zoey and Mira can finish each other's sentences and lean into each other, melting in the way you do when you know someone so truly that there's no barrier between you. And sometimes it's less personal than that. Sometimes it's the way the two of them have the shared language of a normal life, of growing up with siblings and a mom and dad, of going to school and making friends. Rumi has never been normal, had been educated by private tutors and raised by Celine who, though she loved her, was too much of introvert herself to push Rumi to meet other kids. It's when they laugh at a reference to a movie Rumi has never seen because Celine preferred the classics. All the points of connection that Rumi has simply failed to act on in her life.
For Mira, it's when they're making music. It's not that she's not talented herself, but music isn't in her very DNA the way it is for Rumi and Zoey. Rumi, who has been taught from birth that songs are love and protection and power, and Zoey who has a head full of notes and lyrics that she can't help but pour into stacks upon stacks of notebooks. For Mira, music is something that was kept tucked inside headphones while studying, something she had to struggle to make her life. Mira will sit in the studio and watch the two of them flow together, watch them spin words and melody from nothing in a way that feels effortless and she will feel like they speak a language she doesn't know.
For Zoey it's in the moments where things go wrong. The ones where Mira and Rumi are able to be blunt, be forward, tackle a problem head on, while she flinches back. Zoey can solve a problem, but only after she's thought through a million and one routes and tried at least half. She's no good at decisiveness, at acting without thinking. When Rumi calls out an order in battle, Zoey obeys without question. When Mira decides what they're having for dinner, Zoey is just relieved she wasn't asked. Mira and Rumi will jump into a situation and go, while Zoey has to stand back and plan her first move, any deviation throwing her off enough that she has to stop once more. She can't flow with them, she just has to trust them and follow.
