ya know tbh i’m always seeing posts like these on my dash but i’ve yet to see a single post that actually explains/shows what it is that terfs actually did to deserve all this hatred?? like yeah people say ‘terfs hate trans people’ ok obviously that’s bad but where/how did that happen? like where are the receipts? what do they say and most importantly what do they do that can show us that they do hate trans people and are as terrible as nazis who want to commit literal genocide, like so many people claim? Ive yet to see any consistent answer to these questions which has got me feeling like ‘terfs’ are basically like the boogeyman of social media. I never really see them do/say anything afaik, but everyone else is always talking about them like some awful threat to avoid so i’m here just being the pariah who’s gotta ask: what’s the threat? where are they? bc if I hear far more warnings against them than I hear About them it just looks like we’re all just overreacting tbh. like whatever they actually do is being blown way out of proportion, bc that’s the only explanation for why there are like 100 posts vagueing about terfs being bad for every approx 0 posts where anyone says anything that would actually count as terfy (ie transphobic) not to flex but I personally am not down to condemn some amorphous group of ‘evil women’ just on generic hearsay alone. if terfs are as bad as tumblr says, then maybe people should in fact interact/reblog from them more often, bc then at least that would contextualise the threat they pose… just sayin
