my favourite part of pride month is the increase of posts about queer history that get half the facts wrong
Once upon a time, I got very, very angry at people perpetuating the notion that women’s clothing doesn’t have pockets because supposedly, witches used to carry spells around in them and then they were banned. This is…almost hilariously untrue, and I insinuated that I would like to hit all the instagrammers still passing it around with a very large, post-witchcraft, 18th century pocket that could hold both a hardcover fashion history textbook and several bricks.
I have now tested this and would like to formally apologize, as in fact none of my hardcover books are narrow enough to fit through the pocket slit.
I stand by the rest of my statement though.
