This post seems to REALLY confuse people so here's what this post is about: Men who intentionally put their open palm to a woman lower back without permission. (A common patriarchal social norm)

Things this post ISN'T about:

Unintentionally bumping into someone in a crowd, touching someone's shoulder after they don't hear you say "excuse me", one woman you know who grabs people by the waist, the false idea that there is a wave of predatory women overtaking men in predatory behavior, jokes about being non-binary, women being “like cats” and men being “like bulldozers” ???, touching your own child's head to keep track of them in a crowded place or keep them from running into traffic. (why on earth are you comparing these two totally different scenarios they have NOTHING in common).

Also: for all the “I do it to men to creep them out/assert dominance/etc” – that’s still creepy, and still sexual harassment (even without the social power dynamic element) Just keep your hands to yourself!

I’m baffled by people defending this. There’s literally no reason for it. If you truly can’t get someone’s attention in crowd, you can take the hand you were about to put in their body, wave it in their sightline, and gesture that you’re trying to get by.

People will hear any complaint about patterns of male behavior and start coming up with fantastic scenarios where a meek young chap had tried and tried to get a woman’s attention so he could get past her to rescue an orphan from a tiger.

I completely agree with the main point, there’s no reason to give gay men a misogyny hall pass. But it’s particularly galling in the case of Pedro Pascal, who is not officially out. I know it’s an open secret and his reasons are no one’s business but his own. I just don’t know why people should excuse his actions due to his membership in a group he won’t publicly claim.

My girl dog is in love with me to the extent that she will stay with precisely two other humans and has a written care plan at the vet allowing me to hold her throughout procedures that are usually staff-only. Gender essentialism is obviously nonsense, but you also don’t actually want an animal to be completely enamored with you as much as you might think you do.

I love her very much and I’m happy she’s with someone who can accommodate her, to be clear. It’s just very restrictive.

This was inspired by another oomf’s post but I’ve found that what I enjoy reading is affected by all four seasons….I appreciate and want to read the classics and literature of quality when it’s cold and I’m inside all day and I want to read lowbrow contemporary slop when I’m outside all day and can sit in the park with a $10 lavender lemonade.
