im laughing oh my god so my teammate got banned from the na buddyfight fb group bc head admin made a post calling out someone who had been messing with the trade credit doc and my teammate suggested the way he did it wasnt efficient enough and the admin thought he was trying to argue
so my teammate messages him trying to talk the situation out and get unbanned, the admin explains his thoughts on why he felt his action was efficient and my teammate concedes to his logic… and then they keep talking and somehow the convo winds up with the admin offering to contact the head branch of our local shop in orlando and attempt to convince them that theres a big enough crowd for buddyfight to start carrying it again

Octopuses are going to kill us all someday
I had a biology teacher that told us this story about an octopus at an aquarium in Australia. The staff were concerned because their population of crustaceans kept disappearing. No bodies or anything. So they checked the video feed to find out what’s up.
Across from the the crustacean tank was a small octopus tank. This little fucker squeezed out of a tiny hole at the top of his tank, walk across the hall, and get into the crustacean tank. He would then hunt and eat. After he was done, he crawled back out and get back in his tank
Here’s the kicker: security guards patrolled the area. The staff realized that the octopus had memorized the security’s routine. It would escape and be back between the guards’ round.
My friend who worked at Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, Nebraska had a similar story. Rare fish were disappearing, they suspected theft, and so set up a camera. An octopus was unlocking the top of its tank, walking across the suspended walkway, unlocking the other tank, eating his fill, re-locking the other tank, then re-locking its own tank.
I can’t remember what zoo this happened at, but there was another octopus somewhere who was unscrewing a water valve in the room where its tank was located and routinely flooding the place. The staffers had no idea what it was until they filmed the octopus caught in the act.

My dad worked in a lab and one of the rooms had a tank with an octopus in it. If they didn’t go play with the octopus he got bored and would climb out of his tank and steal the paperwork off the desks, and drag stuff into his tank to let the scientists know he was upset with them.

There seems to be this mindset in some people that there’s this huge wall between casual play and competitive play that no fun can pass through
and as someone who considers themselves at least semi-competitive, let me assure you I have never had fun in my life.
I'm super competitive at Buddyfight, gotten to go to NA Conts in 2014 and 2015. And let me tell you, those were some of the most fun I've ever had.
Of course when you're around Austin Somers its nigh impossible to not have a blast.

Was there a rule change to deck building? Because your buddyfight deck can't exceed 52 cards when constructing it
They’re providing a Deck List of End Game Yamigedo’s Hundred Card Deck, from the anime. Bar special rules, it’ll never be valid in tournament play, but doesn’t mean you can’t run it as a crazy fun Deck.
I’m under the impression a deck is still 50(+2) minimum (50 Main/1 Flag/1 Buddy) and no max for official play? Anon appears misinformed unless I’ve missed an update since Dec 15
There hasn’t been any official rule change on this, for deck building in Buddyfight you can have any amount you want as long as it includes your buddy, flag, and at least 50 main deck cards.
Yeah, there's no max guys. I run 51 or 52 card decks pretty frequently, including the deck I took 3rd with at NA Conts this year. Pretty sure its legal.

To kick off this tournament season, we have the Spring Fest 2016 results from Atlanta, Georgia! With some unorthodox decks reaching the top tables like Jackk...
Buddyfight 100
This season had a lot of strengths and faults that contrasted with the last one honestly. So lets go through them.
Pros: The character development
Gao got some serious character development, which was really nice to see. You could also visibly see Tasuku’s development since last season, which was also nice. Mukuro was another interesting character that popped up. Kiri’s was also interesting, and Ikazuchi too.
Cons: The character development.
Buddyfight’s just sort of weak like this. It focuses a lot on Gao and Tasuku, and as a result there is development in other characters, it’s just never explored to its full potential or seen enough. We got like the hints of Kazane and Tetsuya and Zanya developing, but nothing more. Sofia’s was really disappointing. They also brought a bunch of minor characters back for no reason other than bringing them back, which was disappointing since they didn’t do anything substantial with them.
Also there was that thing where Yamigedo split in half or something and one of them was nicer and Ikazuchi’s buddy and the other Hyakugan Yamigedo was a jerk???
Also Kyoya was there. And did one thing. Then realized it didn’t work and hung out in a helicopter for the rest of the time.
I gave s1 a 6/10, and I think I give this season a 7/10. Slightly stronger, but I still hope DDD does better.
