Thinking about the Tenzin, Pema, and Lin situation makes my blood boil, because Tenzin and Pema were both in the wrong. Before anyone says anything, I know that Tenzin and Lin had problems before the breakup and them separating was needed with proper communication. The problem is the way that they broke up.
Imagine being in a long-term (probably 10+ years) relationship with someone, you've made your boundaries clear that your career is a priority, they stay with you the whole time despite wanting something else, a significantly younger person comes along and tells your partner that they suit your partner's needs better, and then your partner leaves you. Lin's crashout wasn't enough for me, I would've been 10x worse. He should have broken up with Lin a lot earlier and not wasted years of her life.
Pema advising Korra to do the same thing is genuinely disgusting. Pema had no clue what the situation was like on Mako and Asami's end and we see her react to the consequences of the advice when she runs out of the room when they start arguing.
