Let me also say from an incredibly parasocial standpoint, long term depression truly fries your memory. Not saying that’s the reason but from personal experience it’s certainly possible to lose/blur a lot of things from when you were clinically depressed.

Ah, to be Dan Howell and spend your entire adult life in self-imposed closets because of severe trauma and internalized homophobia, all while having your relationship under a microscope so intensely and persistently that thousands of strangers write stories about it, people try to doxx and stalk you and your partner and your families, and then, finally, after so much growth, you are the one to bring up marriage unprompted on international TV, only for the interviewer to go "okay, but how much MONEY do you make?!"

That interview is so funny to me, that man was not prepared for Dan and Phil lol The way he had to hold back laughter after their Pinof clip

The way they politely tried to steer around years and years of trauma and internalized homophobia with "we want to be seen as entertainers", only for the interviewer to force them to double down and shit on influencer couples

And then he went ahead and straight up asked them about money. Honey, they spent 16 years deflecting, they're pros, they're not gonna answer your question. But bless you for trying again when Dan started answering another question instead and talked himself into a rant about marrying Phil... again.
