First of all, this is genius and the sound must be on. I have a lot of comments. This was a LOT of work. Not just the animation... but the lovely and adorable handmade creatures themselves. The staging and gathering of the miniatures used, all of it. A labor of love. I am so happy to Reblog and I hope more enjoy it. Thank you so much for sharing, pretty much reset my day.
why are there so many posts about asexuals being immune to sirens. people. sirens don’t lure you in with sex (necessarily). they sing about whatever it is that you want most. they could sing about mothman or cinnamon toast crunch and guess what then your asexual pirate is fucking dead
this is the only kind of ace discourse i ever want to see on my dash. the only kind. ever again. good job
Do you think the sirens would be grateful that they finally get some variety?
“Oh my god we can finally just sing about pasta thank the fucking gods.”
I’m not asexual but I’m fairly certain sirens would do a far better job luring me into the depths with a song about pasta rather than sex…
I mean.
“WHAT THE FUCK STAY AWAY FROM THE ROCKS.”
“FUCKER THEY SAID THEY HAVE FETTUCCINE CARBONARA AND HOT GARLIC BREAD OVER THERE HANG ON BITCH.”
This is true; Odysseus heard them promising him knowledge of the future. So the next time you see artwork like this:
Remember those sultry naked chicks are saying “We’ll tell you the winning lotto numbers.”
Them: “We have unlimited wifi at incredible speeds~” Me: *diving headfirst into the water*
This post is a blessing

kurt vonnegut, being good at things is not the point of doing them.

the default way for things to taste is good. we know this because "tasty" means something tastes good. conversely, from the words "smelly" and "noisy" we can conclude that the default way for things to smell and sound is bad. interestingly there are no corresponding adjectives for the senses of sight and touch. the inescapable conclusion is that the most ordinary object possible is invisible and intangible, produces a hideous cacophony, smells terrible, but tastes delicious. and yet this description matches no object or phenomenon known to science or human experience. so what the fuck
this is what ancient greek philosophy is like
False! “Sightly” is a positive word, so the default way for things to work is good as well.
The true most ordinary object is beautiful, horrible sounding, very smelly, intangible, and delicious.
I still don’t think it matches anything in existence but to truly understand a thing one must know its true nature.
"touchy" is also a word! however it's mostly used for things that aren't objects, like subjects of conversation. it either means "oversensitive and irritable" or "requires careful handling/wording, delicate"
i think the second one works well for our hypothetical object. so we can use that.
therefore, the Default Object is:
beautiful
makes a horrendous sound
smells absolutely awful
is very fragile
tastes delicious
and i still cannot think of anything that matches this
behold, the default object!
I am slowly losing my mind over the shift towards video as the default media format.
I do not find this to be an efficient way to absorb information. I am bored and distracted by the time the largely unnecessary introduction is over. I can't use ctrl+f to find the specific information I'm looking for. If there are instructions to follow, I don't want to have to constantly pause and back up to the part I need.
At least give me a fucking transcript.
I can read faster than you can talk and these videos are wasting my time.
my therapist was a bit shook by how much i detest my period, and i was shocked to find out out not everyone does....
how do you feel about your period?
very positive
mildly positive
neutral
mildly negative
very negative
I have never once ever in my life met a single human being who experiences periods and regards them with anything other than almost furious contempt, revulsion and dread, resenting the universe that has afflicted them with such a wretched biological curse. What fucking world does this therapist live in.
I am....100% with Bog on this, I've never met anyone who hasn't treated their period as anything other than finding out you've been touched by some hideous witch curse upon your privates and either want to die or grit your teeth through it till it ends.
Me included.
Unless this therapist is somehow my fucking elderly male Sex Ed teacher who - to a room full of teenage girls of whom, most of them, had their period said, without ANY shame or compunction;
'A period is a beautiful and painless change in a girl's life when she becomes a woman.'
To which I turned to look back at my friend, whom was on her period at the time and saw her staring back like we had just watched the teacher's head bloom into an artichoke.
love when characters have to have a domestication arc before you can even consider giving them a redemption arc

rip to you guys but i love assembling ikea furniture its so fun its like legos
people complain about how confusing assembling ikea furniture is and meanwhile i rise above their understanding and exist beyond their pitiful mortal comprehension as i spend a wonderful day assembling two twin beds with nothing but two hex keys, hope, and a whole lot of screws. 10/10 experience would do again
Doing a Curse of Strahd run with some close friends and this is Thorg, a Monitaur Fighter who refers to himself in the third person and attempts to be the voice of reason in a group of crime, chaos and tomfoolery with little success. He's a big boy with a big heart.
We love Thorg.
