Naw see… I gotta call bullshit for a couple reasons. This is intentionally Shock targeting. This isn’t not noticing cries for help over the course of months this is not looking for Easter eggs in the background your first watch of a video and then being blamed for not spotting a shooter because of it. This video detracts from the real problem. This video willfully ignores the actual issues at stake here. Yes, this boy was displaying symptoms of considering a shooting, but he was also 1 of dozens of background characters and a few minute long video. What should be questioned is why he was able to get a gun magazine from the library (if he brought it from home you can ask why he was allowed to have it and speaking anecdotally, my high school had them) why it was so unsurprising to see a teenager holding a gun in their Instagram. Why American violence culture is so normalized that mock shooting someone isn’t as standout as it could be. This video claims the issue was that we weren’t paying enough attention but doesn’t ask why he could have a gun so easily or why it was so normal for him to want one and be seen with one.

You shouldn’t be on watch for everyone to see if they might be a shooter. There should be some level of distance between trouble youth and guns that does not exist and that fact is buried in this video. This video is willfully ignorant if not outright intentionally eclipsing the real issues underlying gun violence in America on behalf of blaming shooting victims for being distracted being teenagers living there lives.
