You know had Disney decided to go with the original design for Elsa (Blue skinned, mood swingy? one), I can’t help but think that Annie Lennox would have been a good singing voice for her. Obviously, the Snow Queen would have to be older considering how old Annie is, but it would’ve been interesting to see the songs composed.
You know,
All a Snow Queen adaptation would have to do is use the names Kai and Gerda for the two main characters and it would already be a better adaptation than Frozen. Now that I think about it....In Frozen, didn't they make Kai and Gerda servants to the kingdom? The two main characters of the original story...mere servants.
So, the new snow white and the huntsman prequel/sequel is coming out, and all people can say is that "Is this frozen?" "This rips off frozen!" It looks in no way like frozen except for one little thing. The ice queen has ice powers. That's it. Not every ice queen has to be linked to Frozen...

Where in Frozen did a plane appear? Hell! Where in Frozen did the characters sprout wings and fly? An Incredibles plane would make sense, an Up plane would make sense, hell! Even a BH6 plane! But a Frozen plane? Is Disney really getting that desperate?
Come to think of it, Frozen is actually pretty progressive because while every other medium teaches people that we have to face our problems, Frozen teaches people it’s OK to run away when you fuck shit up, because everything will turn out fine eventually.
Can I just say one thing? I’m fine with Elsa having magic, but there needs to be limits and rules to her magic. I don’t want them explained away in a fucking tweet, I want in-movie rules. I want to know when I’m invested in the story, not when I’m using fridge logic.
Jennifer Lee’s done this plenty of times, and I’m not blaming her for answering all the questions fans ask, but after a while it gets suspicious when most of what we know about how the lore of Frozen works is from the directors’ social media accounts.
Example: Elsa’s spring powers. How? Why? She has a cold so that’s why.
That doesn’t explain a damn thing. She has ice and snow magic. If you want to expand her powers, there needs to be an in-universe reason, not some dumb Word of God explanation after the fact because YOU were too busy thinking about money and YOU weren’t paying attention to the actual story.
Yeah, completely true. What's next? In the summer can she manipulate her dress to become yellow because she has a cold? Does it turn orange with red leaves in the fall when she has a cold? Can she bend earth? Can she fly? Can she transform into animals? Teleport? Powers need limits. What's wrong with them just having their servants make them new outfits for the occasion? Why does it have to be magic from a source that doesn't make sense?

Here are some posts I found just looking through my Frozen tag.
Look, Frozen has a LOT of faults, and I’m not going to pretend to get angry at people who point out legitimate problems with the movie (its ridiculous lack of diversity, same-face syndrome), etc.
A lot of the Frozen hate centers on the fact that people are mad it’s getting a huge franchise line, or complaining that Big Hero 6 wasn’t marketed well enough, or getting angry that people like it a lot, but you know what? It was a solid movie. It had an excellent portrayal of depression/anxiety, it had strong female leads, and Elsa’s depression didn’t go away when a boy showed up in her life to sweep her off her feet. I’m tired of people getting angry (and especially being surprised?) that a movie that made well over a billion dollars worldwide is getting a massive franchise series. I’m tired of seeing posts like this that are basically mocking little girls for being excited about a movie with strong female characters. To be honest, I wish Tumblr was a little more excited about this, because the interests of little girls usually gets put on a back-burner in media or dumbed down as less interesting, or less culturally relevant.
It’s fine to be annoyed that something you find mediocre is getting a lot of praise. Trust me, I get it, I was on Tumblr during the SuperWhoLock takeover. I guess what I’m pissed about is the franchising criticism, for the most part, as though Disney is operating some evil corporate conspiracy for marketing Frozen this heavily after it made them a huge amount of money.
I don’t think Elsa’s portrayal of anxiety/depression was good. Sure she didn’t become magically cured when a man came, but she sure as hell did when she found out “looooove” will fix everything. It’s not that simple. Hell, my friend who adores Frozen doesn’t even think she has anxiety or depression. She only thinks she was just scared. In any case, she’s not even a strong female lead. She runs away, and keeps running. Even when Anna begs her to come back, she’s like “Nope. Can’t do it.” Now, I’m not saying that she has to become a female superhero, but we don’t even get Elsa for a moment saying, “Maybe I should try to undo winter...at least try!” No, I think Anna’s the strong female here, even though she’s too perfect and naive for my tastes. That’s probably why the anti-frozen fandom isn’t excited that it’s getting the attention of little girls because honestly, what the Frozen fandom sees in this movie is not what we see. What most of us see are that the negatives greatly outweigh the positives. But anyway, little kids don’t even see anything the Frozen fandom claims; they see a pretty girl with ice powers, a talking snowman, and a reindeer...oh and her sister. That’s it.
Now, is it okay to make fun of little kids for liking a movie? No! It’s never okay!
And Disney may not be evil, but let’s face it; they’re just like every other corporation; out to make money. They hit their target audience hard with Frozen, so the only logical thing is to pander to that audience, even at the expense of their other movies. Which is a shame really.

I don’t care if people dislike or even hate it but I’m tired of ten-thousand note posts circling around about how pathetic and awful the movie was just because Disney is (understandably) selling a lot of merchandise for it? And I’m especially tired of people pretending like its “cool” to hate it because it got popular lmfao bye
Last time I checked, there weren't any ten-thousand note posts about hating Frozen. I mean, there are a few thousand note posts going around. (Unless I'm not looking hard enough haha)
But yeah, just think, for every post hating Frozen, there's a thousand posts sucking on the movie's dick still.
We don't hate movies because they're popular either. Hell, technically I should /love/ Frozen considering that it /is/ popular. We hate/dislike Frozen because of the over the top praise it's getting for being such a mediocre movie. Sure, it had pretty animation, but the story was weak. Disney has done better, and yet they don't want to move on from Frozen to support the other films that have come out. I should see a lot of BH6 stuff, but I don't! As for the live action Cinderella movie, you'd think that they'd start to put out more Cindy merchandise again. Nope! Still Frozen.

I don’t think Elsa did anything important in this movie. Like…
Sure she unfroze the kingdom, (which was her fault in the first place), but that was about it, and she didn’t even figure out that crap on her own.
And, she didn’t even save her sister. You know, the one she was /so/ worried about losing? It wasn’t Elsa’s tears that brought Anna back to life, but Anna’s selflessness to sacrifice her life for her useless sister. Anna /saved/ herself.
See, it would’ve been nice for Elsa to figure out that she had injured Anna looong beforehand and actively set out to try and find her sister so she can attempt to undo the curse! However, all we got was a woman who ran away at every opportunity she had to be more than just a lady with a pretty face.

The way how these two look at each other reminds me of when family members you haven’t seen since you was a baby decides to visit and you give them a hug and make it look heartfelt but inside you are like “who are you?…
And also how can a queen with only two lines, her name is not even mentioned in the entire movie and she only shows up twice can give a more loving and heartfelt hug than Elsa? Look how she hugs Aurora and compare that to Elsa and Anna’s hug. They haven’t seen each other for sixteen years and the hug that they share shows it.
Not to mention how Elsa just stands still kinda just waiting for Anna to rush into her arms...if anything, they should've had Elsa rush into Anna's arms and hold her tightly since she was so "worried" about her sister...I mean you kinda...just almost killed her after all, Elsa. Act like it.

I HAD REALLY SHITTY GRADES THE WEEK BEFORE APRIL BREAK AND THERE WAS 1 1/2 WEEKS LEFT IN THE quarter and i reblogged this + wished with all my might for my grades to somehow lift up before the end of the quarter (which is hard with lower averages) and my grades raised a lot before report cards came out today. my mom was impressed with my grades (good thing she didnt see the other ones earlier this quarter)
