Sabrina is afraid of the unkown.
Surge is afraid of being forgotten.
Koga is afraid of desire.
Sabrina would fear the unkown, and it's why she get's so pedantic and visibly distressed about fate not going as predicted... This makes her codependant on her psychic abilities for a long time, avoiding risk taking and impulsiveness, making her quite an avoidant person. It does give her urges to learn as much as possible. She also finds solace in both Surge and Koga's ability to methodically plan situations out, and she finds herself relying on them if clairvoyance isn't in her favour.
She will NEVER admit to that being her weakness though LOL.
I think it's safe to say yes, Surge has PTSD. But, I'm going to step away from that and present a fear that looks like his PTSD but instead actually just agitates it further. Now, to be "forgotten" isn't just an attention seeking desire, but more like an aversion to impermenance that makes him act like an attention seeker.
Yes, it covers death. It covers what people may think of his death, if people would even know he had died, and for how long. The world would keep spinning, and it makes him feel so helpless to the inevitable. This is a vicious cycle, and it presents with fierce loyalty that must be matched in return, and an explosive reaction to rejection despite being cold and quick to dismiss others.
Sabrina and Koga don't fear impermenance, and it either grounds or agitates Surge depending on mood.
Koga's is contradictory because his heavily ingrained philosophy since birth is Buddhism. And desire is one of the noble truths. To desire is to suffer. Avoid suffering by accepting your existence is transient, etc.,
You know what makes this hard though?
This will be hard to explain... He's taught to ignore desire, but he's so internally unhinged that he's got complexes that he can't control. It's all deeply internalised to make it look like he's unbothered. He'll justify cruelty to keep it hidden. It's also repressed so harshly that his desires are a lot more violently craved.
So realistically, it isn't avoided any less than it is obsessed over also, which fractures his identity and makes him really unstable. If you mix it with the ability to "no-mind", it's scary. But... it does make him a good ninja, because if a job is a means to achieve a desire, he'll go cold killer with no evidence left behind for it. But it's also an insight into how fragile his ego is, making meaningful interpersonal relationships really difficult for him.
