I have made a new art blog I am trying to motivate myself to get better at digital art.

I have always done traditional, so while I am fairly good at that, my digital art skills are lacking (according to me, a perfectionist) .

Also the mountains of papers with drawings are getting a bit out of hand...

Texts from my mother.

I was severely depressed, had debilitating OCD, and was undiagnosed autistic. Sometimes I wouldn’t eat or get out of bed or shower for several days.

I know I have a lot of teenagers following me. Don’t let your parents do this to you. Please reach out to a trusted adult. I’m a grown ass woman now and my mother claims she never noticed any of my symptoms.

While my parents noticed and cared very early on. The entire system did not. To them I was just a quiet girl. (I talk constantly , and back then at x2 speed, except for when I feel unsafe around people)

But I am from a generation where afab people couldn't possibly have autism, because it was a "boy" diagnosis.

There's so many ways the world sucks when you have an "invisible" diagnosis, but I want you all to kmow it can get better so don't stop fighting.

i remember when i was a child internet safety was like "if you even hint at the country you live in, you're gonna get kidnapped and murdered", and nowadays it is encouraged or even necessary to give corporations every single personal detail if you want to use anything because if they can't sell your information they cry so hard they throw up

there is this controversy going on on TikTok where a girl made a video about how she is unemployed and disabled due to currently going through cancer treatment and how the loss of SNAP benefits was going to effect her. and the MAGA crowd found her and ripped her to shreds because she was a young “healthy-looking” girl with dyed hair. the most baffling part was all of the people saying things like “My dad had cancer and he worked EVERYDAY until he died! No excuses, you lazy bitch!” which is soooo wild. it is crazy how many members of the conservative ‘blue collar’ crowd love to brag about being fucked over and killed by capitalism. that is not a flex, quite the opposite, if anything that is insanely pathetic and sad. maybe your daddy would still be alive if we had socialized medicine and better sick leave policies but no, he worked himself to fucking death and you want a 20 something young woman to die the same pathetic fate. we need to start telling these people ‘that is so sad, I feel sorry for you’ instead of pretending this is in the scope of good work ethic. because it’s fucked up the things they’re going through and patting themselves on the back for. maybe if they felt less proud of being fucked over by the system, they’d work to change it.
