just got back from the dentist and i really cannot overstate how much i hate the dentist. its sensory hell. They say theyre not judging how well youre taking care of your teeth/its not a moral thing but when its said in such a condescending way and without any understanding of the factors that make it difficult, it really doesnt feel without judgement. they asked me my preferred name and gender identity and then blatantly ignored my answers. (At least this time they remembered I don't respond to topical anesthesia typically so they doubled the amount and actually made sure I was numb before drilling in my teeth - actually they didn't check to make sure this time either, but at least this time they were right when they did that.)

Even if a description is short and well done, I often wish there were no description at all. Get to the point, already! How ironic that striving after access can actually create a barrier. When I pointed this out during one of my seminars, a participant made us all laugh by doing a parody: “Mary is wearing a green, blue, and red striped shirt; every fourth stripe also has a purple dot the size of a pea in it, and there are forty-seven stripes—”
