[ ID: A Deltarune comic about Kris and Dess.
Kris, a young human with long shaggy hair, is woken up by a tapping on their window. They open the curtains, revealing Dess, a humanoid raindeer with short dark hair in a big jacket.
As Kris asks, "Dess?" Dess replies, "hey Krismas!"
Kris opens the window while telling Dess, "Asriel's not here. He's spending the night at Pizzapants' (at this, Dess comments, "not his name") place.
Dess responds, "awww bummer..."
Dess then looks away uncertainly, and looks back at Kris with a smile, asking, "since Azzy's not here, you wanna hang out instead?"
Kris looks away uncomfortably, saying, "um."
"Aw cmon, Kris!" Dess wheedles. "Come hang out with the big kids!"
"You're a big kid now," Dess says with a mischievous grin, "right Kris?"
Kris looks away uncertainly, then looks back, saying, "wait for me!"
As Kris dons their horn headband, Dess asks, "Still wearing that headband?" to which Kris replies, "shut up."
"you don't even need it! They'll grow in soon enough!" Dess lies.
"You think so?" Kris asks, flushed, as they climb out of their window.
As Dess leads Kris through a forest, Kris asks, "how come we didn't go get Asriel to come?"
"'cuz he's lame," Dess responds.
"ohh okay." Kris pauses before asking, "why didn't Elly come?"
"She's not grown up yet."
"but we're the same age..."
"What!? No!" Dess exclaims, turning back to look at Kris.
She turns back to the front. "oh look!" she says. "we're here!"
Kris and Dess stand in front of the bunker, where two closed doors covered in vines let out an ominous hum.
Scared, Kris asks, "um, Dess? can we go home now?"
Dess takes Kris' hand. She looks forward determinedly, and back at Kris with a sharpness in her expression.
"You're a big kid, yeah?" she asks Kris.
"I need you to be brave for me, okay?"
Nervously, Kris replies, "...okay."
"There's nothing to be afraid of," Dess tells Kris darkly. "You'll be alright, because I'll be with you, and you'll be with me."
Dess starts forward to the closed bunker doors. Kris' grip on her hand tightens.
She continues. The doors open to reveal darkness. Kris is pulled along behind her.
Dess takes the darkness on as a challenge. Two eyes peer through the nothingness. Kris cries, looking back as they are pulled toward the dark.
Dess, silhouetted in white against the blackness, with the knight's body beneath her and trees around her, slowly turns around.
Her eyes the only visible part of her face as it is shrouded in darkness, she tells Kris:
