Robin (Jason): A-Okay. I may even have time to read a bit before going to bed.
Batman: I'll think about it.
Robin: We could go to Bat Burguer! Di-Nightwing said they have an amazing chocolate milkshake.
Batman: I don't know, Robin...
Robin: I'm sure they have banana milkshake as well or something fruity.
Batman: Hm
Robin: I knew it!
Batman: Hm??
Robin: You are a fruit bat.
Batman: what?
Robin: I was reading a book about animals and they say that of the 1200 known species of bats only three are vampire bats. You are too normal to be a vampire bat. Also vampire bats are smaller and you are very big and vampire bats move solo and while you like to prented to be moody and lonley you have me, Agent A, Batgirl and Nightwing and that just in Gotham. So you are a fruit bat. And you love fruity things.
Batman: *smilling* I suppose.
Robin: And that means we are going to drink the milkshakes because you can't refuse fruit things!
Batman: Because I'm a fruit bat.
Robin: Yeah!!

Robin (Damain): I'm the son of Batman, I'll drink your blood, Hood.
Red Hood: Nah, B's totally a fruit bat and as the "blood son" that just means you like banana milkshake, sorry demon brat.
Batman: *in the background, accidentaly listens* *happy hm*

ok so the main robins are dick, jason, tim, steph, and damian. there have been other people taking up the robin mantle but they are The Robins™️
the quick explanation of who they are:
Dick - hes kinda the mom friend. also he is an angel and i love him. there is a quote from superman where he says that dick is the "multiversal constant" because in every universe he is "always confident, always kind, always cool" 🥰
Jason - edgy lil guy. he is super emotionally driven (damian calls him the most emotional of the batfamily) and i love him. he died as robin and came back as the red hood and was super angry and murderous because he felt like no one cared after he died because his death was never avenged
Tim - detective with abandonment issues xoxo. jk but hes extremely smart, he figured out batmans identity when he was just a small child. he is a lil messed up emotionally because his parents used to leave him alone for months at a time when he was just a little guy, but he stepped up as robin bc he cared about protecting gotham
Steph - beloved. she is pretty impulsive and excitable, which caused her and batman to fight a lot. but shes a good fighter and she trained hard to become a hero
Damian - gremlin baby. the best interpretations of damian are the ones where he is four feet tall and full of rage. jk but he was raised by assassins so his first instinct is murder, but bruce was like ❤️stop killing ppl❤️ so he did
so thats the short version. ill put the rest under a cut but here's all their backstories and what theyre up to now 😌
Dick Grayson
- he used to be a part of a traveling circus, him and his parents were all acrobats called the Flying Graysons. a man named tony zucco killed his parents when he was about 9 years old and he was Angry. this 9 year old little boy wanted to kill a man <3 batman was like no dont kill anyone u are a child. anyways long story short they arrest tony zucco and dick becomes batmans sidekick and bruce's ward
- he goes by robin bc that was the nickname his mom used to call him :( and the colors of the robin costume are the colors he would wear as a flying grayson :((((
- he and bruce start fighting a lot (based on different continuities the fights are about different things but the important part is they are fighting) and batman fires him as robin, so instead he becomes Nightwing (a character from a Kryptonian legend)
Jason Todd
- jason is a lil street kid. his dad is in jail and his mom overdosed :( he is 12 years old and homeless and lives on the streets of Crime Alley. one day he sees the Batmobile parked there and he steals the tires. he gets three of them but when he comes back for the fourth batman catches him. bruce is like "damn. guess im going to protect this tiny child that stole from me now" and jason tells him that he ran away from the foster homes bc theyre all fronts for human trafficking. bruce takes him in and lets him become robin :') he also gets adopted by bruce <33333
- dick is not happy about that. bruce did not tell him there was another robin so he found out about it in the newspaper and was like "???? bruce???? wtf????" so he meets jason and is bitter for a while bc jason took his costume and his name but eventually dick accepts its not rly jasons fault and is okay with jason (but still is mad at bruce)
- jason fucking dies. i wont go into the full story but basically hes 15 years old when he runs away and goes to ethiopia where he gets kidnapped by the joker. joker beats him with a crowbar then blows up the warehouse he's in and he dies :( bruce is sad and angry and doesnt know how to deal with emotions but. he misses his son.
- 6 months after he dies, he wakes up in his grave and has to dig his way out. he is brain dead and gets hit by a car, then hes in a coma for a year. he wakes up from the coma with no memory but survives on the streets of crime alley by instinct for another year. he gets taken by the League of Assassins (its a league thats for assassins. also they have a lake that heals ppl) he is still brain dead and trains with the league until Talia al Ghul (daughter of the head of the league, also in love with Bruce) throws him in the Lazarus Pit (the healing lake) and he regains his memories and everything (the Pit also causes temporary insanity and anger). jason finds out that bruce didnt kill joker after jason died and hes pissed
- he comes to gotham as the Red Hood (one of Joker's former aliases) and pretty much does what batman wont (kills the Really Bad people, like human traffickers and rapists). hes a crime lord and batman doesnt know who he is and he is wreaking havoc. eventually he reveals himself to batman and is like "surprise i lived bitch, now kill joker" and bruce wont kill joker. bruce is mad at jason for killing people, jason is mad at bruce for not killing people
Tim Drake
- after jason dies, batman is extremely violent towards all criminals. tim had been following batman and robin at night with his camera to take pictures. hes a lil detective so he figures out that bruce is batman and dick is nightwing and jason was robin. tim watches bruce be super violent and hes like "its because batman needs a robin! hes violent and angry if he doesnt have a robin :(" so he goes to dick and hes like "pleeeeease help bruce :(" and dick is like ok but im not gonna be robin again. tim is like well SOMEONES gotta be robin. so he is like "bruce i am ur robin now" and bruce doesnt want another kid to be robin but is eventually convinced. tim goes through LOTS of training to make sure nothing happens to him
- tim still had both his parents tho! they were just very neglectful. they would leave him alone in the house with no supervision which is how he was able to sneak out to take pictures of batman and robin, then how he was able to sneak out to BE robin. eventually though both his parents die :( but he gets adopted by bruce :)
- the actual story of how tim becomes Red Robin is a lot but the short version is that a little bit after damian shows up (ill get there in a sec), bruce is presumed dead so dick becomes batman. tim is convinced that bruce is still alive though and is upset when no one believes him so he goes off on a journey to prove that bruce is alive, and dick takes away Robin from him so instead hes Red Robin
- he is canonically bisexual :^) that has nothing to do with any of this i just like thinking about it
Stephanie Brown
- when she was 15 she found out her dad was a supervillain and she didnt like that so she became spoiler to tell batman all her dads plans. she joined the batfam for a while as spoiler, and bruce agreed to train her, and she would train with Cassandra Cain (who was Batgirl). but she was impulsive and bruce didnt like that because she reminded him of jason (and this was while jason was still thought to be dead) and he didnt want her to get killed
- tim gives up robin for a bit because his dad found out he was robin and got mad, then made him stop going out as robin. since tim wasnt robin, steph was like "batmannnnnn plssssssssssss" and bruce let her be robin :) but she was only robin for a very short amount of time (a recent comic said she was robin for 71 days) but she broke the rules and bruce didn't trust her so he took robin away and eventually tim became robin again
- very long story but she sorta accidentally starts a gang war and ends up dying in said gang war. rip. turns out tho she wasnt actually dead and she just faked her death :)! she was able to be spoiler again for a while, then was batgirl for a little bit, and now is spoiler again
- her mom is still alive and is good so she is one of the only members of the batfamily with an alive and not shitty parent
Damian Wayne
- bruce slept with Talia al Ghul (the league of assassins member) many years ago and talia got pregnant and didnt tell him. damian grew up with the league and was taught to kill as soon as he could hold a sword. when he was 10 he was sent to bruce because talia wanted to protect him and wasnt sure if he could stay safe with the league.
- since he grew up in the League, he had very skewed ideas of how things were supposed to work. tim was robin at the time and damian was like "i am the blood son of batman so this is my birthright" and tried to kill him. also he kept trying to go out on patrol and kill ppl and bruce was like "damian. i am begging u not to murder" and damian was like "ok murder bad" and tried to stop killing. also he still hates tim but no longer attempts to murder him
- when bruce "died" and dick became batman, dick made damian robin, then when bruce came back he was still robin. he also died for a little bit but he got better 😌
