Odd thing has been happening with my inbox. It says I have messages but when I check they don't appear.
I'm very sorry if anyone has messaged me but I haven't responded.
So, apparently, with all my art in my iPad, all the fics and homework and other stuff went away too. So I’ll have to restart on everything.
Anyways, this is the long winded way of saying I implemented some of the stuff in the Gaang finds out in my own original works.
I'm sorry to hear about the progress you lost, I hope some of it was salvaged!
I'm so glad that The Ganng series was able to inspire you! Wish you all the best with your writing!
YOOO I just binged your The Gaang Finds Out fic series at a way-too-late time of night, 100000000% love it, worth the sleep deprivation, am absolutely here for it, just wanted to shower an extra bit of appreciation for that glorious series you have thusly graced mine eyes with, thank you and good night 😌👊
Ahhh! Thank you! I'm glad you liked it! Getting your notifications were a delight. I hope you've been able to catch up on sleep :D
Well, my iPad exploded woth all my progress. Rip
Oh no!! I'm sorry to hear that :C
I know you must be disappointed about losing your work but I am honoured regardless that you thought you wanted to create something for my fic <3
Alright, I’m almost done with the sketch. I had to reread the kick again to see how Zuko got didn’t get crushed cause I kinda got it melted together since I read it at like 4 am along with other fics. Anyways, I think I will post it. As stated before, I will give complete credit to you.
Omg so excited!!! Can't wait to see it <3
i just read your “The Gaang Finds Out” fics. I was wondering if i could do fanart for it. I won’t post it, but i just want to know if it’s okay with you.
AAAAH!!! Oh my, yes, you have my permission to create any fanart for my fics! If you do decide to post, I would love to see it. Thanks for reaching out!
Hi!!! I just found your 'The Gaang finds out.....' series and I wanted to tell you that I loved it, my favourite is 'The Kick'
OMG THANK YOU!!! I'm so glad you liked it, it's been really fun to write!
I know I haven't updated the series in a while but I've been bombarded with plot bunnies that I don't know when I'll get to flesh out T.T
I do have the plans for more installments for this series and for the reverse where Zuko is the one being enlightened!
I hope to get those out. Thanks again <3
I feel called out.
ATLA Theory: Water Tribe Settlements Pt.3 Finale
So how and why did all this happen?
I have not read the Kyoshi books, thus my fan theory only uses detail presented in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I think Water Tribers had settled down in the area long before Avatar Kyoshi came along, since the painting of Kyoshi founding the island shows all the light-skinned locals wearing blue Water Tribe-like clothes.
My pet theory is that Kyoshi Island was founded by female non-benders who wanted to escape the strict hierarchy of the NWT, where male benders were given vastly more power and freedom than everyone else. These women sought to create a society free of benders, where both sexes held equal power. These women took on Earth Kingdom husbands who shared their ideology of “equalism”, creating the first “equalists”.
These equalist settlers were incredibly prejudiced against people with bending ability. Benders were seen as going against the natural order of the world, angering the spirits, and causing destruction wherever they went. They deemed them to be “violent monsters” that were not quite human, not quite spirit. This worldview led to a practice of declaring families with benders to be “cursed by the spirits” and banishing entire clans to either the Foggy Swamp or Si Wong Desert, depending on what element they were caught bending. These banished clans are, of course, the ancestors of the swampbenders and sandbenders we see in ATLA.
While she didn’t agree with their anti-bender practices, Kyoshi admired their staunch independence and female empowerment, so she taught the women of the island martial arts and formed the Kyoshi Warriors as a token of her appreciation. The settlers, grateful to Kyoshi for protecting them from the tyrant Chin, made her the one revered bender in their culture. This reverence eventually led to a softening of their view on bending over many generations, til anti-bending sentiment became practically non-existent on the island.
So…yeah. This is basically my headcanon for Kyoshi Island’s lady warriors and their seeming lack of benders, that also conveniently explains where the swampbenders and sandbenders came from.
Exiting the nursery, Firelord Zuko stopped just outside the door where his eager Uncle was waiting.
After a morning of commotion and watching on as his wonderful wife labour for several intense hours, Zuko was feeling a fatigue that only came with adrenaline subsiding. This, of course, was at odds with the fluttery exhilaration that was trapped in his chest and making him want to run around and shout like a certain airbender.
"Well don't keep an old man waiting!" Uncle said, as he rose from his seat, "How is my niece in law?"
Time has been kind to the elder royal, but it still left its mark. Iroh was slower to rise these days and was sporting a few more strands of white.
Zuko ignored all that in favor of his teasing gentle smile.
"Good," He breathed out, "Good. She's resting."
Uncle nodded sagely.
"And the baby?"
It's a girl, Zuko wanted to say, we named her Izumi and she has twin birthmarks on her shoulders and the midwives says she's healthy and she's tiny and you should come in to meet her-
"She's perfect." He croaked out instead.
The swell of emotion he's been trying to hold back this entire time overcoming him and making his words hitch and his eyes water.
Uncle smiled at that. Large and proud, his eyes misting over as well.
"They all are."
Zuko knew he wasn't only referring to general babies everywhere.
With that, the dam on his emotions broke.
He was crying properly now; slumping over and stifling cries into his hands. Tears were streaming down his face, not just for the tiny spark of life behind him but because he finally understood-
"Thank you!" Zuko choked out between shuddery sobs. Uncle's weathered hands were wiping away his tears in vain. "Thank you!"
"Whatever for, nephew?"
"For everything!"
He took a few deep breaths to reign himself in enough to elaborate. He placed his hands on top his Uncle's where they came to rest on the sides of his face.
"Thank you, for loving me even when no one else would." Zuko said closing his eyes, "For loving me, even when it was hard."
Iroh pulled him into a hug, wrapped his arms around his nephew in a near suffocating embrace. Zuko hugged him back just as tightly.
"Thank you for not giving up on me."
"Oh Zuko, that is what parents are for."
Masha The Hero
They forgot the part where the ambulance actually stopped to let the cat in
oh good I was worried
What a good cat. What a kind cat. How can anyone not love cats they are so good and loving.
they also forgot the part where they only found the baby because masha was screaming her head off bc she knew this baby was in danger. she went around outside the alley the next morning and yelled at passerby until she got one to follow her to the baby. she kept him warm all night and then made sure someone found him. she was adopted after this bc she was a stray and is in a loving home and is a hero
Hero cat
Thank you, Masha, you’re such a good girl.
See.
Kittens can’t regulate their own body temperature. That’s why they pile up.
Cats see us as colony members.
Masha saw a kitten that was on its own, no mommy, no other kittens to cuddle with. She instinctively knew that was a cold kitten. She knew that a kitten alone on a cold night was very likely to die. Because a kitten would have died too.
So, all she was doing was what any good colony member does - protecting the abandoned kitten. Then when the abandoned kitten’s mommy didn’t come back, she called the rest of the colony for help.
People have this bizarre idea that housecats don’t have a social sense. They do, and it saved this kid’s life. And possibly Masha’s too, as life on the streets is dangerous for a kitty.
We say “good dog” all the time, but Masha was being a very, very good cat…not just by human moral standards but by feline ones.
Rebloging again because who can resist Masha the Hero cat 😻😻😻

Punctuating Dialogue
✧
➸ “This is a sentence.”
➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.
➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”
➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”
➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”
➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”
➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.
“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.
“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”
➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”
➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”
However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can ask be “outside”!
➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.
If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)
➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations, dashes typically express—“
“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.
➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.
➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”
➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.
“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”
I really, really hate the comma/dialogue tag thing. I’m still trying to use it even though I dislike it.
This makes my soul happy.
Has this been made before?
