I'm transmasculine, genderfuckery, and I have no idea what my sexuality is.

Ruegard is doomed yuri, that parallels the story of Achilles and Patroclus, and also parallels other ancient Greek stories, such as the relationship between Ares, Hephaestus and Aphrodite.

Silena literally pretended to be Clarisse, and sacrificed herself while wearing Clarisse's armour. After her death, Clarisse literally went on a grief fueled rampage.

Mycroft and Lestrade are the perfect ship, and are the perfect representation of fandom goals and the beauty found in fandom. Yes, they barely share any scenes. But when has that ever stopped us before? It's not how canon it is that matters, it's how amazing the potential dynamic is.

The fact that they are such an important ship in the fandom that they're in really highlights the fact that ships can and will be formed in any situation, even if they aren't "supposed" to be shipped because they don't share whatever the minimum amount of required scenes together is.

Additionally, this ship, and the fandom as a whole, literally is one of the founding fathers of Tumblr that led it to be such a big fandom space. Remember SuperWhoLock, anyone?

Two men, one Detective Inspector and one man who is basically the British government, meet because of the mutual annoyance that is Sherlock. Greg can soften Mycroft's strict demeanor, and Mycroft can be stable and care for Greg in a way that his ex-wife didn't. They are perfect for each other and are exactly what the other one needs.

And the plot ideas are limitless. Kidnappings and spies and assassination attempts and fake identities where they coincidentally have to pretend to be boyfriends.

Also, they're the old men yaoi we need in this day and age. One of them has grey hair, the other one is balding, and yet they're both in love. Neither of them is the hyper masculine, buff, skinny, pinnacle of traditional gender ideals that we typically see in these days, and yet in this ship they get to have a happy ending and fall in love with someone who is truly right for them.
