@imsugar00
she really did that
physical intimacy prompts
holding hands during a stressful situation
smiling in-between kisses
touching foreheads
cheek kisses
slow dancing
intertwining fingers
comparing hand sizes
resting your head on your partner's lap
piggy back rides
standing on your tip toes to reach your partner's lips
kissing your partner's wounds
forehead kisses
falling asleep on your partner's shoulder
bridal carries
spooning
rolling over in bed, switching positions during a kiss
embracing your partner
intertwining fingers when making love
pulling away from a kiss, deeply looking into each other's eyes, appreciating being here with each other before diving back in
nudging into the crook of your partner's neck
being carried/tucked into bed, after having fallen asleep on the couch waiting for your partner to come home
saying ''i love you'' in-between kisses
nose boops
back rubs
tracing fingers down your partner's chest
hand on chest during a casual conversation
bumping into each other
hugs that last longer than they should
showering together
hands around the waist
straddling your partner's thighs
helping your partner undress
playing with your partner's hair
falling asleep to your partner's heartbeat
resting a hand on your partner's back
squeezing each other's hands
sitting in your partner's lap
cupping your partner's face
tickling
linking arms with each other
exploring each other's lips
caressing your partner's face
brushing your lips together, lingering for a moment
jumping into your partner's arms
wrapping legs around your partner
tucking a strand of hair behind your partner's ear
pulling your partner into your lap
hugging from behind
lifting your partner off the ground
holding hands across the table
holding hands under the table
bear hugs
caressing your partner's hand
laying a hand on your partner's thigh
literally sharing a sweater
slapping your partner's butt
tummy kisses
feeling each other's pulse
glancing at each other's lips
falling asleep while cuddling on the couch
climbing back into bed, onto your partner's body to wake them up

Writing Tips
Punctuating Dialogue
✧
➸ “This is a sentence.”
➸ “This is a sentence with a dialogue tag at the end,” she said.
➸ “This,” he said, “is a sentence split by a dialogue tag.”
➸ “This is a sentence,” she said. “This is a new sentence. New sentences are capitalized.”
➸ “This is a sentence followed by an action.” He stood. “They are separate sentences because he did not speak by standing.”
➸ She said, “Use a comma to introduce dialogue. The quote is capitalized when the dialogue tag is at the beginning.”
➸ “Use a comma when a dialogue tag follows a quote,” he said.
“Unless there is a question mark?” she asked.
“Or an exclamation point!” he answered. “The dialogue tag still remains uncapitalized because it’s not truly the end of the sentence.”
➸ “Periods and commas should be inside closing quotations.”
➸ “Hey!” she shouted, “Sometimes exclamation points are inside quotations.”
However, if it’s not dialogue exclamation points can also be “outside”!
➸ “Does this apply to question marks too?” he asked.
If it’s not dialogue, can question marks be “outside”? (Yes, they can.)
➸ “This applies to dashes too. Inside quotations dashes typically express—“
“Interruption” — but there are situations dashes may be outside.
➸ “You’ll notice that exclamation marks, question marks, and dashes do not have a comma after them. Ellipses don’t have a comma after them either…” she said.
➸ “My teacher said, ‘Use single quotation marks when quoting within dialogue.’”
➸ “Use paragraph breaks to indicate a new speaker,” he said.
“The readers will know it’s someone else speaking.”
➸ “If it’s the same speaker but different paragraph, keep the closing quotation off.
“This shows it’s the same character continuing to speak.”

You watch and look on as they praise the white witches and Wiccans. Find them easy to digest. Somehow their approach seems palatable; yet, it’s no different than yours. Folks shop at their stores. Buy their crystals and jewelry. Scoop up their incense and consecrated candles. Think it’s cute they wear henna, although historically it’s not their culture.
They attend their yoga classes, massage parlors, and spas. Drink their teas and tinctures. Share their herbal remedies. The same ones you’ve been sharing for over a decade. The same crystals you’ve placed in your bra and all parts of your person for years. The same henna you wore and they told you to take that devilish shit off your hands cause it could be some “voodoo-voodoo.” The same henna your boss complained about and claimed it violated the dress code. Yet, he couldn’t care less about Billy’s sleeve — visible from his sleeve.
I’m here to tell you, it’s OK.
You don’t have to hide.
Article: Dear Black Girl Witch: You Don’t Have to Hide
Developing believable groups within a society
There have been many famous, infamous, and secretive groups within fiction. If you’re trying to create clubs, factions, gangs, sects, guilds, brotherhoods, or any sort of organized group within your story but need a little boost getting the depth and nuances fleshed out, then I’m here to help.
Where did they begin?
Start with an idea. A person or a group of people came up with an idea, a philosophy, a passion. Who were they?
They began recruiting, rallying others (a few other people, or large groups) around their idea. How difficult was this? How receptive were those who heard? How open about their new idea were they?
They formed an official organization. What mission statement did they write? How was a leader or group of leaders selected? How much disagreement was there in the earlier states? How did they find and/or claim a headquarters? What rules did they start out with, if any?
How did they adapt to growth over time? Was the growth fast or slow, if it happened at all? How did rules or structure need to be adjusted as the numbers grew?
If the primary goal or mission was met, how did they adjust and redefine their purpose?
How do they function, once established?
How has their origin shaped who they are as an organization today?
How do they interact with the world at large?
Are they a secret society?
Are they at odds with the law?
Do they run their town/village/country, whether directly or indirectly?
Who can join? What does joining require? Is there a “probationary” period? How are new recruits treated?
Is there any training or education that proceeds (or precedes) initiation?
How are they funded?
Through illegal means
Through the government
Through private donations
Through the church
Through the (legal) work of their members
Do they have an official or unofficial religious affiliation?
Do they have an emblem or a sigil, some symbol of their loyalty. How is that mark treated? How commonly recognized is that symbol?
How free to live one’s own life is a member once they’ve joined? How much of a day-to-day impact does the membership have?
Can they still work their old job?
Have their old friends?
Stay with their families? Or perhaps the families join as a unit?
Keep their home? Perhaps they still live in it, but it becomes property of the guild?
How ubiquitous is the mission statement? Is it quoted frequently?
What is the consequence for leaving the group? Or for disloyalty?
Happy writing, kiddos!

Hey, so I saw you gave someone else dark academia hairstyle recs? I'm trying to find a style that works for me so if you could help I'd appreciate it no end 😊 I've got short dark thick hair that is annoyingly straight (if I don't put anything in it I look like an anime school boy 😂) I'm also pretty androgynous but leaning towards masculine. what do I do with this monstrosity! 😂😂
Okay I don’t know exactly what length we’re working with here but androgynous leaning towards masculine made me think very short so I have a couple options:
With short thick hair especially, it can be nice to keep the sides short. Again, I don’t know your current length or what you’re comfortable with, but my brother has very thick hair so cutting the sides keeps it from looking bushy or overgrown and adds more definition and visibility to the face.
You could grow it out, or if you’re already close to a bob/ bowl cut situation I would add curl! It adds more definition and keeps your hair from looking like it’s a curtain around you. Doesn’t have to be super curly you could put in hair curlers, use a wand to give you a wave rather than a curl (or a hair straightener can do this) or if it’s long enough you could braid it for waves!
Consider spiking it slightly with gel. Mess up the top a little, to create that “I woke up with this” hair tossel.
You could try slicking it back with gel also. This is a very masculine look, and with a few hairs dangling in the front it can look very spicy.
I hope this helps!

BITCH????
dark academia critics
dark academia is like one of my favourite aesthetics however there are certain things/issues that bother me about this whole aesthetic
1. where is the diversity?
have you ever come across any dark academia posts that included any people of color. everywhere I go, all I see is elite white kids. I would die to see japanese/korean/indian /pakistani/ african/ middle eastern dark academia students often wearing their ethnic attires and embracing their cultures.
2. eat the rich
I know the whole theme about dark academia is ivy league/ rich elite students but imagine middle class dark academia srudents who are not necessarily clad in expensive attires rather wearing clothes bought from the thrift stores studying on scholarships, who own second hand books and antique/vintage items from some local flee markets or thrift stores.
3. fuck that Greek philosophy
not that I hate Greek philosophy but all dark academia posts do talk about is western art/architechture/ mythologies / history and philosophy etc. I would love to read and discuss persian poetry and history , south asian mythologies, japanese/Arabic/korean calligraphy, Muslim world's art and architecture.
4. what's up with that nerd shit.
why are dark academia students always protrayed as nerds, reserve, quiet, hates to have a social life, perfectionist who can't afford to get any grades lower than As etc like even the best students have their ups and downs, what matters is the passion and the will to do better. It's okay to have a life outside books, to have romantic dates, to prank, to hangout with yout friends, to skip classes, to be unorganized...its more realistic.
People who think a woman breastfeeding her baby is sexual seriously need professional help.
Seriously, there is an infant right up on that titty. What are you gonna do, remove the baby so you can oogle a nipple?
She’s getting oggled because of what the tit in a baby’s mouth means. She’s fertile, she’s proven, she’s ready to breed. There’s nothing sexier than a woman who’s able and willing to breed.
Breastfeeding is literally birth control. The amount of lactation required to sustain baby is so energy intensive that it prevents ovulation. The average breastfeeding parent takes 14 months to become fertile again.
So, not fertile and if you think “willing to breed” describes anyone who’s had a baby in the last six months… I’d conclude that you’ve never spoken to another human being about babies or parenthood in any capacity, ever.
Also if your homeboys oogle your breastfeeding partner maybe get better homeboys?????
Also may I suggest a new law?
If you say “able and willing to breed” about a woman we just cut your dick off on the spot
This is a good post but it’s important to correct some misinformation about breastfeeding as birth control, aka Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM), as misusing it and getting pregnant again is very common:
It requires breastfeeding every 4 hours during the day and every 6 hours during the night to be effective, and using breast pumps does NOT count – LAM has nothing to do with lactation being too “energy intensive”, ovulation is prevented mostly due to the stimulus of the baby’s suckling disrupting GnRH’s release pattern and thus the entire hormonal pathway that leads to ovulation, plus the effects of high prolactin levels.
It’s only effective for about 6 months after giving birth, or until you start having periods again, whatever comes first.
Just like any natural or artificial birth control method, it’s not 100% effective even if perfectly used.
There are several contraceptive methods that are safe to use while breastfeeding and you should ask your doctor about them as soon as you give birth.
