But neither himslef nor gandalf tells the company about it so everyone finds out about bilbo skills as the journey unfolds and they'r all just like "Damn who tf is this dude".

Meanwhile, Thorin is glaring daggers at Bilbo while secretly wishing he could make him his consort.

I love the idea of the whole of Erebor getting invested in the Bilbo and Thorin romance during the winter after the battle of the five armies. The rebuilding has to wait until they can get proper supplies, so after the cleaning is finished and they're set for the winter, there's not much to do to entertain themselves until it passes but gossip. Watching Thorin and Bilbo dance around each other as they're trying to recover from what happened and see if it can lead somewhere more would be peak entertainment. A real life soap opera happening right in front of them. You know there would be betting pools running on everything from when will they admit their feelings to what design Bilbo's coronet will be.
