Remember back when grammar was a thing?
That’s not “protecting” anyone. She wasn’t in any danger. This boils down to “if someone says something you don’t like, you’re allowed to hit that person”. Nope. Sorry if someone’s feelings get hurt, but we literally teach toddlers that you can’t put your hands on another person just because they said something you don’t like. I had no idea she had alopecia, and Chris Rock probably didn’t either. and even if anyone DID know it, that’s still not reason to hit someone. No other person in that room turned to physical violence because of someone else’s words. Will, who I always felt was probably a pretty good human being, clearly has emotional issues, and if any regular person had done that (particularly in a public forum, on television) that person would have been ejected immediately, and the police would have been involved. Someone’s unwelcome opinion is not cause for violence. Btw, for what it’s worth, my mother dealt with alopecia for years. Would she have been ok with me hitting someone who made a joke about it? Hell no.
I’m immediately seeing half the people out there posting things like “Harvey Weinstein has X amount of Oscars and they never took them away”… Will Smith attacking someone on live tv in front of an audience is assault, and has nothing to do with anyone else. If Harvey Weinstein had done any of his disgusting behaviors during the Oscar ceremony in front of people he’d have been called out for it. The typical human being had no idea who he even was, let alone what was going on behind the scenes What he did was wrong and horrible, but has zero to do with Will Smith publicly assaulting a comedian. If you told me that this happened behind the scenes a few hours later I’d probably look at this a little differently, but across the board the “woke” types seem to be responding with “good! you are correct for attacking someone who said something you don’t like”, and that’s disgusting.
