Remember back when grammar was a thing?
Thatâs not âprotectingâ anyone. She wasnât in any danger. This boils down to âif someone says something you donât like, youâre allowed to hit that personâ. Nope. Sorry if someoneâs feelings get hurt, but we literally teach toddlers that you canât put your hands on another person just because they said something you donât like. I had no idea she had alopecia, and Chris Rock probably didnât either. and even if anyone DID know it, thatâs still not reason to hit someone. No other person in that room turned to physical violence because of someone elseâs words. Will, who I always felt was probably a pretty good human being, clearly has emotional issues, and if any regular person had done that (particularly in a public forum, on television) that person would have been ejected immediately, and the police would have been involved. Someoneâs unwelcome opinion is not cause for violence. Btw, for what itâs worth, my mother dealt with alopecia for years. Would she have been ok with me hitting someone who made a joke about it? Hell no.
Iâm immediately seeing half the people out there posting things like âHarvey Weinstein has X amount of Oscars and they never took them awayâ⌠Will Smith attacking someone on live tv in front of an audience is assault, and has nothing to do with anyone else. If Harvey Weinstein had done any of his disgusting behaviors during the Oscar ceremony in front of people heâd have been called out for it. The typical human being had no idea who he even was, let alone what was going on behind the scenes What he did was wrong and horrible, but has zero to do with Will Smith publicly assaulting a comedian. If you told me that this happened behind the scenes a few hours later Iâd probably look at this a little differently, but across the board the âwokeâ types seem to be responding with âgood! you are correct for attacking someone who said something you donât likeâ, and thatâs disgusting.
