I seriously need more Bruce centric reincarnation fics. I need more angsty Bruce centric fics in general. I know a lot of people hate him but he’s my favorite.
I need a fic where Bruce dies, maybe being Batman or maybe something completely ordinary. Either way, he dies young and everyone is reasonably upset. Maybe everything was finally starting to get good when he died.
Then idk what happens, but he gets reincarnated as some scrawny street kid that Red Hood inevitably finds. Imagine all the struggle teenage Bruce went through but now he’s dirt poor and has unlimited access to pretty bad shit.

Not everyone listens to Red Hood’s “don’t sell to kids” rule. Anyway, he finds the little shit and realizes he’s Bruce somehow and now the batfamily has to deal with the grief of their family member being right there but they can’t talk to him like they normally would.
Imagine the angst. The horror of their father becoming a helpless child that needs protection.

So I've been thinking a lot about the literal split personality trope lately with Bruce. @alex-blanc141 and I have talked about it a bit and keep attributing songs from Epic the Musical with his personality traits.
In my au the JL and the batfam has to go into his mindscape for some reason to reunite the sections of his character/personality. Aka key parts of him as a person. So they keep meeting the different Bruce's and all realize how deeply Fucked Up™ he is. Here's what I've got so far:
Insecurity: Takes the form of Thomas Wayne, always berating him for not finishing college, not calling for help the night they died, not protecting his family enough. Song is My Goodbye from Epic
Ruthlessness: Scary but not the scariest. Often takes the form of teenage Bruce on his training arc or before Robin!Dick came into the picture. Obvs is gonna be Ruthlessness from Epic
Confidence: All Brucie all the time. Y'know how everybody has a "happy place" they go when dealing with shit? That's where confidence lives. And the happy place is just Bruce killing Joker over and over again. Don't act like part of him doesn't really want to do it. Wouldn't You Like from Epic and specifically the Bye Bye Bye fight sequence in Deadpool & Wolverine
Innocence: Literal baby. Stuck at 8 years old bc that's when his innocence died. Sings No Longer You from Epic explaining how Bruce would never be the same again
Anger/Protectiveness: They are one in the same. His anger comes from his need to protect and vice versa. Pretty self explanatory. Also really wants to kill Joker. He and Confidence get along. SIx Hundred Strike from Epic
Grief: Represented by Bruce sitting in a loop of watching the ghost of his mother and occasionally Jason call for him. He's stuck, frozen in place watching the people who needed him go by without being able to do anything. Every time it ends, it starts over. Underworld from Epic
I don't really have a song for Justice, but I thought maybe Justice would be corrupted by Fear due to whatever spell Bruce is under, leaving a ball of murderous rage and terror in its wake. There is no more distinction between the two because in Bruce's darkest moments, Justice is overshadowed by Fear. It basically is the biggest and baddest in his brain and all the others steer clear when they can. But the League has to separate Fear from Justice in order for Bruce to be truly united. Fear is Odysseus from Epic.
Anyway, that's all I've got! Def open to suggestions or ideas

I also love that it's apparently David Corenswet who valued having the trunks. He said he didn't want kids to feel threatened or afraid of Superman, and the trunks would make him more approachable. THAT MAN embodies the character already, and we haven't got anything other than a TEASER yet.
Imagine an au where reincarnation exists in the DC universe. Batman and Joker die in the same accident and their souls get stuck in the same body together
But their different kinds of crazy balance out and make a normal dude. Like-

And yeah, they are in a cell in heaven, and MK freedom is on the line, and this is the most crazy and out of the place time and place for this. But it's THEM. Of COURSE they would have their first kiss in the most crazy of the situations.
I don't know if I have the words for how much stupid silly "12-years-old-girl-screaming-energy" happiness gived me this chapter. I had 2 weeks of 11 hours of work every single day, I lost countless hours of sleep and hadn't seen the sun in days, but man everyday after 7pm, knowing that i got to draw this part was what at the end of the day gave me back almost all the energy and motivatiom.
They are so stupid and in love your honor, I love them so much.
