People who say jax isnt trans, or jax is trans FTM have such AUDACITY!! Imagine you make a self insert character of your trauma with being a trans woman. And your fandom is still debating over jax's trauma. Even though you came out and said she is a trans woman.
Yes the writting is shit, yes I also thought jax was FTM. But choosing to make her trans FTM in your head and jumping over peoples logic just to fit your narrative is pushing that toxic mindset.. that trans woman are easily pushed to the side, easily stepped over.. but isnt it crazy that if jax was ftm, she would be way more acknowledge.. because the world is so fucking male centered.
Yes the writting was so bad. Genuinely. I thought truly thought she was FTM because how she was explained seemed so similar to my experience... But after gooseworx heavily pointed at jax being one of the dolls, I feel like its very rude to ignore representation. Oh and not to mention, ofc your not gonna understand the MTF representation if you yourself arent MTF.. GASP, crazy. I am genderfluid. Trans masc. So ofc I read jax as being FTM because his experience was very similar to mine. But that shouldnt take away the representation of the dolls. And when u learn it was just bad writting, and you call yourself and activist. You should humble yourself and walk away from said hill, dont die on it. Your head cannon will never uprank cannon.
And if you say the writing wasnt bad.. I just dont understand the representation. Normally I would agree! However I seen good trans women representation.. I didnt even KNOW she was trans or even hinted at it during the fucking show!! Like whaaaat??? We should have seen more trans representation on jax's side. If an author is trying to make representation, it should be easier to pick up
But again, that's just my opinion ✨️ You have yours, I will have mine. And we can smoke a joint or share a beer over it. Its not that deep 🤷♂️
Its not "bad writing" because you misinterpreted the foreshadowing while thousands of trans women correctly read it years ago, especially since Gooseworx based Jax's behavior on her own when she was in the closet. It can't be bad writing when its based on actual real life, it just means that it wasn't written for you.
Being written for an audience that isn't you =/= bad writing.
I just wanna start off by saying EEEEE thank u for replying I love having discussions so much haha.. but uhhh to start the rant off lol I completely understand it wasnt for me. However in general people all the time say tadc should have been written in a deeper more thoughtful way. At times it just felt like the show itself was throwing out different things towards the audiance and didnt let anything truly stick. I would love to have a conversation about it with you, however sadly your comments arent activated. We should have seen more of jax's dysphoria, more of her homelife. We should have seen more representation from her. Thats where I believe the writing was off. I believe representation is such a helpful thing. That communities that aren't gay or trans should be able to pick it up. I believe thats how we move forward as a society. By giving the experiences of minority people to people that are not apart of those communities, if a cis straight man sees his favorite character is actually trans. It can help him realize and empathize with other minority communities. Thats where im coming from. But I totally get your pov, I just enjoy talking, yapping, and spreading my opinions on a site for no reason, lol. Thank you for giving me your opinion, it helps further my mindset and world view 💖
