Pairing: Sung Jinwoo X Female Reader Genre: Slow Burn, Fluff, AU, Smut (eventually) Word Count: On Going Content Warning: Swearing, 18+ content later but will update when needed Authors Notes: Please don't hate me for the slow burn; I already hate myself enough (😅). I have a general idea where this fic is going but am open to ideas to keep this fic going. Summary: There is something different about Sung Jinwoo; he's not like everyone else you deall with. But with a new quest from the System you don't have time to contemplate why this man makes you feel, or not feel, the way you do. Even if he is annoyingly persistent and keeps popping up everywhere you go as if he knows your every move. Come to think of it, is your shadow darker than usual?

But is it the System or the Player that needs extra protection?

The Flowers Died On Monday

I found this prompt on Pinterest - ' The Flowers Died On Monday' - and it was only half way through writing this one shot that I realised this might not be how most people would approach this prompt...oops...oh well enjoy this weird sci-fi take on it anyway.

Summary

The flowers died on Monday. The wars stopped on Tuesday. By Wednesday, everyone wanted my head on a platter. A story about a failed experiment, a very short temper, and the cosmic consequences of a rainy morning commute.

Original Characters Sci-Fi

The flowers died on Monday. No one really knows how or why. But they did. Scientists across the globe are trying to figure out why the flowers died on Monday.

Who knew all it would take for world peace was for every flower to drop all their petals and whither away. Even the ones that had already been killed, the ones in vases and displays. Every. Single. Flower. Gone. Just brown husks of the once beautiful arrangements remain, people are scared to touch them, rumours of a disease that can spread to humans. But that's not true, they just disintegrate, no biological integrity left to hold their shape.

At 11am on Monday morning the course of earth changed.

I suppose humans are easily rattled when their favourite decorations stop decorating.. Countries on the brink of war are now working together, studying the husks of the flowers. They look for answers. They won’t find any. Not any they will understand anyway. Understanding is such a fickly concept. Besides, there isn’t much to understand. It's not like I killed all the flowers on purpose. It was an unfortunate side effect of an experiment gone wrong and my ill temper.

I was sequencing the genomes of plants, trying to understand how they lived and evolved, when I stumbled across an unmapped section of flower DNA. After many hours of work I discovered that this unmapped section of DNA was for communication, although I’ve still not figured out how and now I probably never will. But flowers can communicate with other flowers! It was a breakthrough. I told EVERYBODY. Which now means they all know it was me that caused the death of every flower on earth.

Of course, I didn’t mean to kill every flower on earth. It had been a bad morning. Public transport had made me late, I had yet to earn my own license for more reliable private transportation. And it was raining, and I don’t do well in the rain. I had high hopes for the experiment I had planned for that Monday morning, although I can’t even remember what it was now, it seems inconsequential with everything that has happened since. The experiment had failed. Epically. And in my frustration I yelled at the flowers in the lab with me, wishing they would all…die. It was 10:59am on Monday. They all shrivelled into husks and I panicked. Although by the looks of the state of Earth now I should be in line to get the Nobel Peace Prize. Collecting it might be a bit difficult considering the whole planet hates that the flowers are gone…and I'm sitting in a holding cell on Kilthron awaiting trial for meddling in the affairs of other planets.

Blurb of the book I may or may not be writing...

There were dragons once.

Flying freely through the skies.

Helping the people of these lands. Protecting. Farming.

They were worshipped like gods

But not anymore.

Whatever happened has been lost to time.

Dragons are now hunted. Slaughtered.

Their temples left to ruin. Anyone seen entering one is imprisoned for treason.

Everyone now fears the dragons.

Fears being marked by them.

Being marked by dragons used to be the highest honour. These were the people that the dogs revered the most. Marked could communicate with the dragons in a way that no one else could. Within villages they and their families were treated like royalty. Within cities they were given the largest homes. And those living in the royal capital, they were given the highest security clearance, they had the power to even over rule the monarchy.

But no more.

Now marked are killed. No trial. No justice. They are treated as dragons and killed on site.

Except one.

One when she was discovered to be marked at the age of 10, her village, her family were set to kill her. But the dragons intervened, helped her escape and have been hiding her ever since in the hope that she will be the one to return peace to the lands. Not that she knows this is their plan

Ace romance

I have their idea in my head to write a romance but the FMC is asexual (and introverted) - it will basically be my answer to every romance book ever written for those of us that don't just fall into someone bed, does go out every night drinking and doesn't make the worlds stupidest decisions....thoughts?

Long time no see...sorry about that 😅

So I've been reading Katabasis by R.F. Kuang and bloody hell its good...just he its not the easiest thing to read and you do kind of need to be paying attention the whole time which is not ideal when I'm trying to focus on my dissertation and a systematic literature review but by the gods is it good.

Juts the thought process behind the whole things, ya know. Like, just, how? Blows my mind.

Anyway its really got me back into reading a writing again so watch this space I want to give you a sneak peak on what might be a real book one day if I can actually stick with it and finish it.

some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.
