I think it's so funny how we bred JOBS into dogs. I have two shih tzus and they were bred to be lap dogs. All they care about is looking cute and cuddling with people. Meanwhile my grandma has a border collie and that dog needs to feel so useful all the time, he acts like he will pass away if he doesn't have a job to do constantly
On one hand this is extremely fucking funny, but on the other hand, it really boggles my mind how many people punish their dogs for just⊠doing the thing they were bred to do.
Your husky isnât âhyperactiveâ, itâs bred to pull sleds for 8 hours straight and you have it in a 400 sq ft yard.
Your English sheepdog isnât âpushyâ, itâs bred to herd sheep, and you have neither to space nor the herd to allow it.
Your terrier isnât ânippyâ, itâs bred to kill rats and your hamster looks a hell of a lot like one.
Your Catahoula isnât âmean to animalsâ, itâs bred to hunt any and all animals smaller than it, and you didnât acclimate it to your cat.
Your Lhasa Apso isnât âyappyâ, itâs bred to bark at any tiny noise and alert watchmen to intruders
Like Jesus Christ, if you canât provide an environment where your dog canât fulfill its literal life purpose, maybe?? Donât get that dog??? And if you do, maybe know the breed characteristics so you can redirect those traits into more constructive outlets????
Both your most common doodle's parts (labra and golden) want to hunt and retrieve water birds so the best suggestion I can give y'all is congratulations on your new duck hunting hobby.
Any time someone sees Herschel and says "AWWW I want a Corgi <3" (because he is Very Cute (TM)), I immediately reply:
"Do not get a Corgi unless you have a job for it to do. They were bred to bully livestock across the hills of Wales. This is basically a Border Collie that knows he is cute enough to get away with murder. If you get one and it doesn't have a job, it will apply its livestock-bullying instincts to YOU. Herschel's job specifically is to help manage my crippling ADHD, because I don't have a bull for him to micromanage."
This gets me odd looks at the home depot but it does get the point across.
"We will learn and we will play, and by doing so find the two to be the same." -badly paraphrased from my comics teacher, who always uses this line in his class syllabus.
Hello OP, i donât have anyway to prove this is the same recipe they make in the shows but i make this to calm my inner kid from wanting the fictional soup:
300gr bacon, beef or chicken. A meat of your choice. These go specially well. I prefer chicken tights. Diced
1 medium onion, diced.
Garlic minced (i used 2-4 pieces depending on size)
300gr carrot, cleaned, peeled and diced.
3 sticks of celery, washed and diced.
800gr potato. Washed, peeled diced in quarters.
1 head of broccoli.
8 cups of stock of your preference. I recommend using the bones of the beef or chicken, but veggies stock works too for a vegetarian or vegan version.
3 tablespoons all purpose flour.
1 cup whole milk. (Almond or rice milk work fine for a vegan option)
œ cup heavy cream. (Skip it for a vegan option)
Salt and black pepper to taste.
œ teaspoon paprika, use the spicy one to get the warmth up a notch in winter.
1 tablespoon fresh chopped coriander. Optional.
1 cup diced gouda or manchego cheese. Optional but really ties all together.
Make sure you have all your ingredients ready and at hand for this one to make sure it comes out nice and tasty!!!
In a pot put water and the bones to prepare your stock (chicken, beef, veggie) You can use premade or bouillon cubes, just make sure its 8 cups worth of broth. In a different pot boil the potatoes until soft.
In a big pot put some butter or olive oil to fry the onion, when it turns a little transparent add the garlic, move constantly.
Add the celery and diced carrots, moving constantly.
The carrot will get a little brighter in color, add the diced meat. Salt and pepper to your taste.
Meanwhile, blend the potatoes with enough stock so your blender wont have trouble blending. If you have a food processor, itâll be easier.
Ad the remaining stock to you big pot with the veggies and meat, add the broccoli chopped in bite size pieces. Add the paprika and taste for salt and pepper. Let over a medium fire for 10 min.
Separate 3 tbsp of the stock to mix with the flour, set aside. This will be a thickening agent.
Pour the potato mix on the big pot, move to integrate and taste for salt and pepper.
Add the milk and heavy cream. Move with a laddle. Have a final taste and let over low fire for 5 min.
Serve hot and decorate with a pinch of coriander and some cubes of cheese.
ENJOY!
Notes:
I personally prefer to use chicken, love how it goes with potatoes and veggies. Also the tight is very tender and flavorful. With beef you have to be careful not to overcook it or itâll get gummy and hard to bite, so make adjustments.
VEGAN: could also skip the meat, cheese and heavy cream for a vegan option.
I make it for my younger sister and she loves it. Instead of meat i add some diced, toasted nuts when served. Cashew, pecan and pistachios work nicely.
Youâll have to use 5 tbsp of flour to thicken up the broth a tid bit more without the heavy cream but you can still use a vegan milk.
You can totally skip the coriander, but it adds another dept of flavor.
Do try it with the cheese tho, i promise itâs GODLY. Gouda and manchego are my fave, the melt nicely and have a strong after taste, but i guess any cheese that melts could work.
Finally, if you are like me and like spicy food you can add chopped chili. Serrano and arbol chiles are my go toâs, freshly chopped sprinkled just after serving my bowl.
Hope y'all give it a try and if you have any doubts do ask!
Substituted spinach for broccoli because my partner is not a fan of the latter and used chicken and bacon. Gonna try it again with a nice Italian sausage in place of the chicken next time.
Hello, my name is Tofu and I'm a professional pixel artist. I have been supporting myself with freelance pixel art since 2020, when I was let go from my job during the pandemic.
My progress, from 2017 to 2024. IMO the only thing that really matters is time and effort, not some kind of natural talent for art.
This guide will not be comprehensive, as nobody should be expected to read allat. Instead I will lean heavily on my own experience, and share what worked for me, so take everything with a grain of salt. This is a guide, not a tutorial. Cheers!
đč Do I need money?
NO!!! Pixel art is one of the most accessible mediums out there.
I still use a mouse because I prefer it to a tablet! You won't be at any disadvantage here if you can't afford the best hardware or software.
Because our canvases are typically very small, you don't need a good PC to run a good brush engine or anything like that.
âšDid you know? One of the most skilled and beloved pixel artists uses MS PAINT! Wow!!
đč What software should I use?
Here are some of the most popular programs I see my friends and peers using.
Stars show how much I recommend the software for beginners! â
đ° Paid options:
âââ Aseprite (for PC) - $19.99
This is what I and many other pixel artists use. You may find when applying to jobs that they require some knowledge of Aseprite. Since it has become so popular, companies like that you can swap raw files between artists.
Aseprite is amazingly customizable, with custom skins, scripts and extensions on Itch.io, both free and paid.
If you have ever used any art software before, it has most of the same features and should feel fairly familiar to use. It features a robust animation suite and a tilemap feature, which have saved me thousands of hours of labour in my work. The software is also being updated all the time, and the developers listen to the users. I really recommend Aseprite!
â Photoshop (for PC) - Monthly $$
A decent option for those who already are used to the PS interface. Requires some setup to get it ready for pixel-perfect art, but there are plenty of tutorials for doing so.
Animation is also much more tedious on PS which you may want to consider before investing time!
ââ ProMotion NG (for PC) - $19.00
An advanced and powerful software which has many features Aseprite does not, including Colour Cycling and animated tiles.
âââ Pixquare (for iOS) - $7.99 - $19.99
Probably the best app available for iPad users, in active development, with new features added all the time.
Look! My buddy Jon recommends it highly, and uses it often.
One cool thing about Pixquare is that it takes Aseprite raw files! Many of my friends use it to work on the same project, both in their office and on the go.
â Procreate (for iOS) - $12.99
If you have access to Procreate already, it's a decent option to get used to doing pixel art. It does however require some setup. Artist Pixebo is famously using Procreate, and they have tutorials of their own if you want to learn.
đ Free options:
âââ Libresprite (for PC)
Libresprite is an alternative to Aseprite. It is very, very similar, to the point where documentation for Aseprite will be helpful to Libresprite users.
ââ Pixilart (for PC and mobile)
A free in-browser app, and also a mobile app! It is tied to the website Pixilart, where artists upload and share their work. A good option for those also looking to get involved in a community.
ââ Dotpict (for mobile)
Dotpict is similar to Pixilart, with a mobile app tied to a website, but it's a Japanese service. Did you know that in Japanese, pixel art is called 'Dot Art'?
Dotpict can be a great way to connect with a different community of pixel artists! They also have prompts and challenges often.
đč So I got my software, now what?
âœNice! Now it's time for the basics of pixel art.
â WAIT â Before this section, I want to add a little disclaimer. All of these rules/guidelines can be broken at will, and some 'no-nos' can look amazing when done intentionally.
The pixel-art fundamentals can be exceedingly helpful to new artists, who may feel lost or overwhelmed by choice. But if you feel they restrict you too harshly, don't force yourself! At the end of the day it's your art, and you shouldn't try to contort yourself into what people think a pixel artist 'should be'. What matters is your own artistic expression. đđ
âœPhew! With that out of the way...
đž"The Rules"
There are few hard 'rules' of pixel art, mostly about scaling and exporting. Some of these things will frequently trip up newbies if they aren't aware, and are easy to overlook.
đčScaling method
There are a couple ways of scaling your art. The default in most art programs, and the entire internet, is Bi-linear scaling, which usually works out fine for most purposes. But as pixel artists, we need a different method.
Both are scaled up x10. See the difference?
On the left is scaled using Bilinear, and on the right is using Nearest-Neighbor. We love seeing those pixels stay crisp and clean, so we use nearest-neighbor.Â
(Most pixel-art programs have nearest-neighbor enabled by default! So this may not apply to you, but it's important to know.)
đčMixels
Mixels are when there are different (mixed) pixel sizes in the same image.
Here I have scaled up my art- the left is 200%, and the right is 150%. Yuck!
As we can see, the "pixel" sizes end up different. We generally try to scale our work by multiples of 100 - 200%, 300% etc. rather than 150%. At larger scales however, the minute differences in pixel sizes are hardly noticeable!
Mixels are also sometimes seen when an artist scales up their work, then continues drawing on it with a 1 pixel brush.
Many would say that this is not great looking! This type of pixels can be indicative of a beginner artist. But there are plenty of creative pixel artists out there who mixels intentionally, making something modern and cool.
đčSaving Your Files
We usually save our still images as .PNGs as they donât create any JPEG artifacts or loss of quality. It's a little hard to see here, but there are some artifacts, and it looks a little blurry. It also makes the art very hard to work with if we are importing a JPEG.
For animations .GIF is good, but be careful of the 256 colour limit. Try to avoid using too many blending mode layers or gradients when working with animations. If you arenât careful, your animation could flash afterwards, as the .GIF tries to reduce colours wherever it can. It doesnât look great!
Here's an old piece from 2021 where I experienced .GIF lossiness, because I used gradients and transparency, resulting in way too many colours.
đčPixel Art Fundamentals - Techniques and Jargon
ââConfused about Jaggies? Anti-Aliasing? Banding? Dithering? THIS THREAD is for youââ
As far as I'm concerned, this is THE tutorial of all time for understanding pixel art. These are techniques created and named by the community of people who actually put the list together, some of the best pixel artists alive currently. Please read it!!
đžHow To Learn
Okay, so you have your software, and you're all ready to start. But maybe you need some more guidance? Try these tutorials and resources! It can be helpful to work along with a tutorial until you build your confidence up.
ââ Pixel Logic (A Digital Book) - $10
A very comprehensive visual guide book by a very skilled and established artist in the industry. I own a copy myself.
âââ StudioMiniBoss - free
A collection of visual tutorials, by the artist that worked on Celeste! When starting out, if I got stuck, I would go and scour his tutorials and see how he did it.
â Lospec Tutorials - free
A very large collection of various tutorials from all over the internet. There is a lot to sift through here if you have the time.
âââ Cyangmou's Tutorials - free (tipping optional)
Cyangmou is one of the most respected and accomplished modern pixel artists, and he has amassed a HUGE collection of free and incredibly well-educated visual tutorials.
He also hosts an educational stream every week on Twitch called 'pixelart for beginners'.
âââ Youtube Tutorials - free
There are hundreds, if not thousands of tutorials on YouTube, but it can be tricky to find the good ones.
My personal recommendations are MortMort, Brandon, and AdamCYounis- these guys really know what they're talking about!
đž How to choose a canvas size
When looking at pixel art turorials, we may see people suggest things like 16x16, 32x32 and 64x64. These are standard sizes for pixel art games with tiles. However, if you're just making a drawing, you don't necessarily need to use a standard canvas size like that.
What I like to think about when choosing a canvas size for my illustrations is 'what features do I think it is important to represent?' And make my canvas as small as possible, while still leaving room for my most important elements.
Imagine I have characters in a scene like this:
I made my canvas as small as possible (232 x 314), but just big enough to represent the features and have them be recognizable (it's Good Omens fanart đ€)!! If I had made it any bigger, I would be working on it for ever, due to how much more foliage I would have to render.
If you want to do an illustration and you're not sure, just start at somewhere around 100x100 - 200x200 and go from there.
It's perfectly okay to crop your canvas, or scale it up, or crunch your art down at any point if you think you need a different size. I do it all the time! It only takes a bit of cleanup to get you back to where you were.
đžWhere To Post
Outside of just regular socials, Twitter, Tumblr, Deviantart, Instagram etc, there are a few places that lean more towards pixel art that you might not have heard of.
â Lospec
Lospec is a low-res focused art website. Some pieces get given a 'monthly masterpiece' award. Not incredibly active, but I believe there are more features being added often.
ââ Pixilart
Pixilart is a very popular pixel art community, with an app tied to it. The community tends to lean on the young side, so this is a low-pressure place to post with an relaxed vibe.
ââ Pixeljoint
Pixeljoint is one of the big, old-school pixel art websites. You can only upload your art unscaled (1x) because there is a built-in zoom viewer.
It has a bit of a reputation for being elitist (back in the 00s it was), but in my experience it's not like that any more. This is a fine place for a pixel artist to post if they are really interested in learning, and the history.
The Hall of Fame has some of the most famous / impressive pixel art pieces that paved the way for the work we are doing today.
âââ Cafe Dot
Cafe Dot is my art server so I'm a little biased here. đ”
It was created during the recent social media turbulence. We wanted a place to post art with no algorithms, and no NFT or AI chuds. We have a heavy no-self-promotion rule, and are more interested in community than skill or exclusivity.
The other thing is that we have some kind of verification system- you must apply to be a Creator before you can post in the Art feed, or use voice. This helps combat the people who just want to self-promo and dip, or cause trouble, as well as weed out AI/NFT people.
Until then, you are still welcome to post in any of the threads or channels. There is a lot to do in Cafe Dot. I host events weekly, so check the threads!
ââ/r/pixelart
The pixel art subreddit is pretty active! I've also heard some of my friends found work through posting here, so it's worth a try if you're looking.
However, it is still Reddit- so if you're sensitive to rude people, or criticism you didn't ask for, you may want to avoid this one. Lol
đž Where To Find Work
You need money? I got you! As someone who mostly gets scouted on social media, I can share a few tips with you:
Put your email / portfolio in your bio
Recruiters don't have all that much time to find artists, make it as easy as possible for someone to find your important information!
Clean up your profile
If your profile feed is all full of memes, most people will just tab out rather than sift through. Doesn't apply as much to Tumblr if you have an art tag people can look at.
Post regularly, and repost
Activity beats everything in the social media game. It's like rolling the dice, and the more you post the more chances you have. You have to have no shame, it's all business baby
Outside of just posting regularly and hoping people reach out to you, it can be hard to know where to look. Here are a few places you can sign up to and post around on.
/r/INAT
INAT (I Need A Team) is a subreddit for finding a team to work with. You can post your portfolio here, or browse for people who need artists.
/r/GameDevClassifieds
Same as above, but specifically for game-related projects.
Remote Game Jobs / Work With Indies
Like Indeed but for game jobs. Browse them often, or get email notifications.
VGen
VGen is a website specifically for commissions. You need a code from another verified artist before you can upgrade your account and sell, so ask around on social media or ask your friends.
Once your account is upgraded, you can make a 'menu' of services people can purchase, and they send you an offer which you are able to accept, decline, or counter.
The evil websites of doom: Fiverr and Upwork
I don't recommend them!! They take a big cut of your profit, and the sites are teeming with NFT and AI people hoping to make a quick buck. The site is also extremely oversaturated and competitive, resulting in a race to the bottom (the cheapest, the fastest, doing the most for the least).
Imagine the kind of clients who go to these websites, looking for the cheapest option. But if you're really desperate...
đž Community
I do really recommend getting involved in a community. Finding like-minded friends can help you stay motivated to keep drawing. One day, those friends you met when you were just starting out may become your peers in the industry. Making friends is a game changer!
Discord servers
Nowadays, the forums of old are mostly abandoned, and people split off into many different servers. Cafe Dot, Pixel Art Discord (PAD), and if you can stomach scrolling past all the AI slop, you can browse Discord servers here.
Twitch Streams
Twitch has kind of a bad reputation for being home to some of the more edgy gamers online, but the pixel art community is extremely welcoming and inclusive. Some of the people I met on Twitch are my friends to this day, and we've even worked together on different projects!
Browse pixel art streams here, or follow some I recommend: NickWoz, JDZombi, CupOhJoe, GrayLure, LumpyTouch, FrankiePixelShow, MortMort, Sodor, NateyCakes, NyuraKim, ShinySeabass, I could go on for ever really... There are a lot of good eggs on Pixel Art Twitch.
đž Other Helpful Websites
Palettes
Lospec has a huge collection of user-made palettes, for any artist who has trouble choosing their colours, or just wants to try something fun.
Rejected Palettes is full of palettes that didn't quite make it onto Lospec, ran by people who believe there are no bad colours.
The Spriters Resource
TSR is an incredible website where users can upload spritesheets and tilesets from games. You can browse for your favourite childhood game, and see how they made it! This website has helped me so much in understanding how game assets come together in a scene.
VGMaps
Similar to the above, except there are entire maps laid out how they would be played. This is incredible if you have to do level design, or for mocking up a scene for fun.
Game UI Database
Not pixel-art specific, but UI is a very challenging part of graphics, so this site can be a game-changer for finding good references!
Retronator
A digital newspaper for pixel-art lovers! New game releases, tutorials, and artworks!
Itch.io
A website where people can upload, games, assets, tools... An amazing hub for game devs and game fans alike.
A few of my favourite tools: Tiled, PICO-8, Pixel Composer, Juice FX, Magic Pencil for Aseprite
đž The End?
This is just part 1 for now, so please drop me a follow to see any more guides I release in the future. I plan on doing some writeups on how I choose colours, how to practise, and more!
I'm not an expert by any means, but everything I did to get to where I am is outlined in this guide. Pixel art is my passion, my job and my hobby! I want pixel art to be recognized everywhere as an art-form, a medium of its own outside of game-art or computer graphics!
This guide took me a long time, and took a lot of research and experience. Consider following me or supporting me if you are feeling generous.
And good luck to all the fledgling pixel artists, I hope you'll continue and have fun. I hope my guide helped you, and don't hesitate to send me an ask if you have any questions! đ
You're not a bad person for things you did and said months or years ago that you now recognize as bad
You aren't cringe for being excited about things
You don't talk too much
If you feel sick from intrusive thoughts/rsd please sip on some water, get a blanket or plush to cuddle, put on some music or a video that makes you feel happy
It can be somewhat disheartening when you the artisans and craftsman of yesteryear who created miracles out of limited technology go forgotten. Always nice to see someone somewhere making tributes to them.
It would seem a whole new kind of AO3 reader/writer is emerging and it is becoming clear not everyone quite understands how the website community works. Here is some basic guidance on how most people expect you to go about using AO3 to keep this a fun community archive that funtions correctly:
Kudos is for when the story was interesting enough to make you finish reading. If it sucked or was badly written, you probably left. If you finished - you kudos.
If you liked it, you should comment. It can be long and detailed or a literal keysmash. Writers don't care, we just love comments.
No critisism unless the author has specifically asked or agreed to hear it. Even constructive critisism is a no-no unless an author note tells you it's okay. Many people write as a fun hobby or a way to cope with, among other things, insecurity. Don't ruin that for them.
Do not comment to ask the author to write/update something else. It's tacky and off-putting and will probably have the opposite effect than the one you want.
There is no algorithm, it's an archive. Use the search and filter function to add/remove the pairings/characters/tropes etc. you want to read about and it will find you the fics that fit the bill.
For this to work, writers must tag and rate stories. This avoids readers finding the wrong things and missing the stuff they want. I don't care how cringy that trope is in your eyes - it gets tagged.
Character A/Character B means a ROMANTIC or SEXUAL relationship of some kind. Character A&Character B is PLANTONIC, like friendship or family.
Nothing is banned. This is an implicit rule because banning one thing is a slipperly slope to banning another and another, until nothing is allowed anymore. Do not expect anyone to censor for you. Because of the tags system, you are responsible for your own reading experience.
People can create new chapters and sequels/fic series any time after they "complete" a story. So it's considered perfectly normal to subscribe, even to a finished story. You can even subscribe to the author instead just to cover your bases.
Do not repost stories or change the publishing date without an extremely good reason (like a complete top to bottom rewrite). It's an archive, not social media. No one cares what's the most recent, only what fits their tag needs.
Avoid deleting a story you wrote if you hate it - orphan it so others can still enjoy it, without it being connected to you anymore.
This is a creative fanfiction archive. No essays on your insights or theories please. There are other places for that.
I KNOW there's plenty more I missed but I'm trying to cover most of the basics that people seem to be struggling with.
I invite anyone to add to this, but please explain, don't berate.
To the people in the notes who are insisting that they have the right to leave negative feedback on AO3:
What youâre not understanding is that fandom is not a service, itâs a community. I saw someone compare leaving a comment on AO3 to reviewing a product on Amazon - if you didnât like the product, youâre going to say so. But fanworks are not products and you didnât pay money for them. They were shared with you.
Leaving un-asked-for criticism in AO3 comments isnât like reviewing a product you were disappointed with. Itâs like going to a friendâs house when theyâve cooked a meal and telling them all the things that are wrong with the food. Sure, you can do it, but itâs rude as hell and they are probably not going to invite you to dinner again.
("Can you leave crit in commentsâ has been a debate as long as Iâve been in fandom, but 20 years ago the argument was âIâm helping the writer improve!â and not âI am a consumer with a right to complain.â Fandom has gotten more creepily capitalistic over the decades but jerks are evergreen, I guess.)
Okay, people are clowning in the replies, so letâs try this again:
Sunburn is an uncomfortable short term problem caused by being out in the sun for too long without sunscreen. Some people are more susceptible to it than others. Melanin does protect you from sunburn, so people with dark skin are less likely to get burned, but also sometimes people just have a natural resistance to sunburn (or lack of resistance) - Iâm white as hell, and literally the only time in my life Iâve gotten a sunburn was when I spent a whole day outside in a swimsuit without putting on sunscreen when I was a kid, and all I got was a minor burn across my shoulders. Never experienced that whole âpeelingâ thing yâall are talking about, sounds super gross and uncomfortable tho. Rip to all the rest of you but iâm different.
Skin cancer is fucking cancer. It has nothing to do with sunburn, apart from both being caused by a lot of unprotected sun exposure. If you have skin, you are at risk of getting skin cancer. I have little to no risk of getting sunburn, but I still wear sunscreen, because I am protecting myself from fucking skin cancer.
If someone is basically immune to sunburn, then thatâs awesome, but we still need to use just as much sunscreen as everyone else. Because we can still get skin cancer. Immunity to sunburn is not a sign that you can go easy on the sunscreen. And honestly, if youâve got dark skin, you should probably be extra paranoid about applying sunscreen, because the majority of information on recognizing skin cancer is meant specifically for recognizing it on white skin. If youâre black/brown, it will probably take you longer to be diagnosed if you get skin cancer. And cancer is one of those things that you want diagnosed and treated very quickly, so you should be extra motivated to not get skin cancer in the first place.
Everyone needs to wear sunscreen. Wear your fucking sun screen.
"I don't care if you think it's weird. I think it's weird you give a fuck about someone else's medical care so badly when you don't know the first thing about it!"

Alright, time for corrections and the explanation of the train of thought behind the deductions, if anyone hasn't seen the deductions in question just head over to this post. Now, let's get to it
(note that Tumblr lowered the quality of the picture, so i had access to a few more details than you guys would be able to see, these being the name of the perfume, the name of the painkillers, and the writing on the cardboard box on the top right)
_________Direct Deductions From the Objects__________
So, starting with the basics, what do we know about these objects? most, if not all of them are portable, glasses pens, pencils, keys, wallet, even the pills and bubblegum are stored in easily movable and transportable packages, the amount of items and their size indicate a decently sized bag to carry them, since pockets alone can't carry all of this, so balance of probability says these are carried in a backpack or purse.
Now what about the actual items, what do we have here? Perfume marketed towards women, pain killers, and the boot on the top right corner of the picture point towards a female owner, handbag or purse are looking slightly more likely then. The glasses are small so this supports our theory, although men can also have small heads, same goes for the lip balm since women are more likely to wear it unless we're talking about somewhere with very cold temperatures, but it serves as a nice supporting fact for the deduction of sex.
The box on the top left of the picture reads Gumnut.com.au, a webpage for a gaming store in Australia, so we have a location, a quick google search of australian currency lets us confirm this by comparing that coin to it.
The age is apparent by the items themselves, easily accesible painkillers indicate period related pain, so in her teens at least, keys to the house and gate indicate responsibility so mid to late teens, smaller amount of supplies for class or work indicate college (or university if you're from the UK) or about to graduate to get there, since earlier education years require more supplies, the amount of keys indicate friends keys, family keys, maybe work, maybe even a car, which puts her in the early to mid twenties range.
A stress ball indicates, well, stress, carrying it places indicates stress takes over often, it's easy for her to be stressed. A set of dice is most likely for some sort of Table Top Roleplaying Game (TTRPG), probably Dungeons and Dragons, which is a 2-8 player game give or take, it's also a game that requires and easily builds strong connections between groups of people, so her friend group and her TTRPG group are probably the same group, which gives us size (something to note about this deduction, while i do have a logical explanation to back it up, it's what we call a Barnum Statement, it sounds very specific but actually applies to almost everyone, most people tend to have one smallish group of close friends. I will make a post about this in the future).
TTRPGs exercise imagination and creativity, as they require the players to improvise on the spot, make compelling, 3 dimensional characters from scratch, and act like them, hence it's not far fetched to assume this person is quite creative. her fixation with TTRPGs and other forms of similar gaming (which we know from Gumnut.com.au and the dice) suggests she's latched onto this form of showing her creativity, which suggests she doesn't have many other ways of doing so.
This is a bag, which contains a lighter, but no cigarretes, so they're not a smoker, so the lighter is either to set things on fire on a daily basis, in which case the most likely scenario for that is working in a lab, or to light up cigarretes that aren't hers, so her friend smokes. and finally the glasses themself make her eyes (or in this case the part of the glasses behind the lenses) slightly bigger, which indicates near sighted.
Now with most of what we can tell from the objects themselves out of the way, let's get to the good stuff
Most people that get into TTRPGs do so through acting or through being avid readers and playing videogames and such, things that correlate with what TTRPGs are largely about, we know this person suffers from anxiety or high stress levels, has a small group of friends (which indicates at least partial introvert behavior) acting can prove quite tough for people with these traits, so let's lean towards videogames and/or books, someone who obesses over TTRPGs the way this person seems to have done (she carries the dice in their own special little bag along with things as important as her asthma medicine and her glasses, as well as actively spending money in this hobby) probably has tried to get the same rush through other similar mediums, so there's a good chance that we're dealing with both options.
So now we have 3 hobbies, videogames, reading, and TTRPGs now we have to keep in mind a day has 24 hours, 8 of them are ideally used for sleep and let's say about 1-2 hours to eat, and 1 for showering and morning routines, which gives us a grand total of 13-14 hours to spend in any other way, we know she either has a job or college classes (or both but let's assume the best case scenario), which means we should take at least 6-8 hours from her day spent at these places. So 5-7 hours to engage in whatever activity she finds comforting or fun. So now the big question becomes, how does a person with all the qualities we've deduced so far spend her day?
She must find time to read and time to play videogames, she must also find time to spend with her friends, at least out of social obligation, we know she has problems with stress, we know she can spend long amounts of time with people without being stressed (since TTRPG games last for hours being extremely sociable) so she doesn't have social anxiety. We know she can act and improvise and generally maintain a conversation flowing even when playing a character and not herself, so we know she has a decent amount of people skills and enjoys social interaction to a degree since this is what she does for fun, but she prefers to go through all of this with her friends in a safe environment, so not entirely introverted altho she does show qualities, but definitely not an extrovert, so we stick with ambivert.
Anyone with a decent amount of friends who is in college is gonna wanna go out with them, any person with introverted qualities is gonna wanna go out with and interact with close friends exclusively, it's a psychological fact that whenever you have a large group of friends (larger than 3) it will subdivide into smaller groups, hence it's safe to assume she mostly goes out with her smaller group or doesn't go out at all, but the whole group must find time to spend together since they're commited to a TTRPG game. As a bonus support deduction, she carries a lighter that's not for herself, assuming her friend smokes (which is more likely than working at a lab) we know she hangs out with them often enough to carry around the lighter all the time
Going back to the anxiety, the question remains, when does it kick in? we know social anxiety isn't all that much of a problem, so the next big option on the list is grades. Now anyone who gets anxious about grades does one of two things, either does every assignment and task immediately or leaves it till last minute trying to avoid the anxiety itself, so which one is it? look at her bedsheet, it's dirty, on the floor, look at her shoes (top right corner), thrown in the middle of the room, look at the package she recieved, also thrown in the middle of the room, so i'm gonna go with leaving things till last minute. As anyone who's trying to avoid anxiety, she turns to her hobbies, which offer comfort, and she ends up getting distracted.
Now that we took a look at the bedsheet, there's stains, which means food, which means eating on the bed, which means she does a lot of other stuff on the bed, probably while eating, most likely watching shows, movies, reading, playing, etc. And since we know her hobbies are largely done indoors and she goes out mostly just with her friends i gather she doesn't really get much of a chance to get tanned.
And for the last final touches. TTRPG sessions that last for hours, eating and getting distracted with hobbies on bed (probably before sleep) suggests this happens during the night, which points towards night owl. someone prone to getting distracted with hobbies during last hours of the night can't have a great sleep schedule but she needs one for school\work so weekends is when it goes crazy, and she stabilizes during the week. An obsession over a certain topic ususally means it was recently discovered, hence there's a chance she's new to TTRPGs. Black glasses, black boots, black wallet, point towards a generally dark colored closet, and she has arm warmers which are a different color, everything matches with black, but the arm warmers themselves aren't very common, so she puts thought into outfits
According to the reddit user that posted the picture, and i quote "This is creepily accurate, minus the part about dark clothes, and the age, I tend to wear autumal clothes, and i'm still in highschool, other then that, you're spot on."
I didn't expect to get everything right, but good to know i got most of it. Hope you enjoyed the explanation, for any questions or comments do send me an ask.
