sometimes i forget not everyone sees meredith as a lesbian but whenever i see that im like sorry. did you not pick the insane vibe going on between her and elthina -?
elthina did not tell meredith to go calm down like a good girl and meredith did not in the end of the monologue go 'poor elthina, dear friend i'll avenge you' for people to say shes straight
Fun fact: I drew this like two years ago and painted the octopus purple. But I thought purple looked corny so I painted over him teal. But then I realized he was the color of Squidward Tentacles and I got mad and stopped and forgot about this piece until now.
Not "The Character did nothing wrong" or "The Character is irredeemably awful" but a secret third thing: The Character may display moments of deep love & compassion, may even have a strong sense of ethics, and may also be capable of brutal cruelty that is irreconcilable with those traits. The constant tension between the different sides of The Character's nature is exactly what makes them compelling, and attempting to reduce them down to simply "a terrible person" or "innocent & misunderstood" is missing the point of the questions a media with nuanced characters is asking you to consider

I don't get why Courier Six went through all the trouble of confronting Benny, all the way up to Vegas. Have you seen the number of cigarette butts Benny left near the Goodsprings grave? Man is going to die of lung cancer soon, no need to take him out.

This is really clever. I wonder how long it took her to find all of these.
Wow wtf HIV/AIDS was discovered by Flossie Wong-Staal, an Chinese-American woman, and she’s the reason the HIV test even exists. AND THEN she invented the molecular knife that lead to treatments for HIV/AIDS. And she’s STILL ALIVE. We don’t hear about the contributions of Women of Color enough, my word. Madness.

you can always tell a major breakthrough is made by a woman, a woc or any poc because it’s either completely ignored or never credited like it just happened by itself
the thing about nonfiction is you come out of it with several more books to put on your to be read list and it's only gonna branch out from there so really the only solution is to read every book in human history starting at the beginning

I feel like a very important part of worldbuilding for any universe with a magic system is asking yourself ‘how would people use this to do crime?’
happy pride month everyone!!
