BIOGRAPHY
Gabriel Haddad feels like he’s lived a million lives and while the truth isn’t actually that many, there are still quite a number of them that he cannot keep track of anymore. Born originally in London his parents moved to the US when Gabe was quite young and eventually settled in Aurora Bay. He found the town to be incredibly boring growing up, because he felt restless most of the time. It wasn’t that he couldn’t focus on things but more that he needed some excitement in his life. When his parents divorced however, that wasn’t the exact excitement Gabe had been looking for. He found out his parents had been cheating on one another for a number of years and he had no idea what to make of the situation. He split his time bouncing between the two houses as rumors began to swirl that Gabe’s parents got around so much there was no telling how many siblings could actually be out there. It really didn’t instill a lot of confidence in the young man to trust the very idea of love and made him jaded at a young age.
By the time he reached high school, Gabe found himself to be in trouble a lot. Not because he had been a criminal but because he had a bit of a rebellious streak in him. He was a bit chaotic and had a Casanova quality to him; accidentally breaking hearts because he wasn’t sure if he wanted anything serious. He closed out his high school years with a steady girlfriend but they were a bit young and reckless too. Things blew up in his face e because he was still a bit jaded. He was a classic rebel without a cause for most of his teenage years; only managing to slow down when one of his best friends had died mysteriously and it made Gabe want to work in a field that could figure out the answers to the questions he had. He joined the police force and due to his natural charm and easy going nature he found himself working undercover for a number of years.
Gabe considered himself good at his job. He always did the work but never let himself get in over his head, except for one time and it had nearly cost him his life. He had been going by Owen for nearly two years when he wound up in over his head in LA. He was trying to stop a series of drug related murders in the city but in order to do so he had to maneuver his way through a criminal field that he was not used to. It was there that he had fallen hard for a woman who had gotten mixed up with the wrong people and he wanted to help her. He couldn’t do it without blowing his cover though, so Gabe had to play the role in such a way that he doesn’t like to talk about his time as an undercover officer anymore. He fell in love with her but things were escalating quickly and the assignment ended in a mess of gunfire and bodies. All that Gabe knew when he came to was that he had been lucky. He may have been laying in a hospital bed with a gunshot wound to his chest, but others weren’t as lucky. He was told the woman he’d fallen for had died; but was also told that it was best if everyone he had met during his time as Owen believed he was dead too. Once again Gabe came to the conclusion that love was not something he wanted in his life. It only hurt in the end.
As he recovered in the hospital he knew he didn’t want to do undercover work anymore. He was having an identity crisis after nearly dying to protect someone he had fallen for. He took time off to make sure he was in good condition again before he resigned from the unit he had spent most of his last ten years in and worked to get a transfer someone more quiet and less likely for him to get shot at. It was then he was given the choice between taking a leave of absence or moving back to Aurora Bay. He hated the town but he loved his work too much and decided that he was just gonna focus on work instead. However while Gabe might be done with the past that didn’t mean the last was done with him.
Moving back to his hometown has proven to be kind of a nightmare for him. He doesn’t really feel like himself anymore so he hyper fixates on his work instead. He’s grown incredibly obsessive and focused just so that he doesn’t let himself dwell on things for too long. It’s easier said than done however when most of the people he grew up knowing are still in town. He’s recently heard of a half sister that lives in town and he is bored out of his mind again. However he would take boredom over running into someone he hooked up with back in his junior year. Even worse he is certain there might be one or two people in town who knew him as one of his undercover aliases and explaining the truth was never easy. He just knows to react now if someone calls him a different name. The past is certainly not done with Gabriel. There’s a rumor that the woman he had tried to save might also still be alive but how many living ghosts are actually out there? Him being in his weird limbo was more than enough for him.
