Pairing: Y/N x Demon King Yanjun
A/N : sorta want to make this a mini series wjat do you think? Also tumblr deleted my 1st draft when i tried to post this last week so i finally managed to rewrite it! Also spooktober is my fav month ever!
Peoples square park one of the more tranquil areas amongst the bustling cities of shanghai.
It was a little slice of nature that was like a labyrinth. Every path would take you to a different place maybe a: lotus pond, a waterfall, a group of old people playing chess amongst the trees. The possabilities were endless. It was my favourite place to go and clear my head.
When i was younger i met a elf there. Not the legolas kind, but a smaller version. My parents never believed me of course but after the time we spent together, he gave me a piece of rose quartz stating that i would need it for protection in the future. Since that day it had always hung on a necklace around my neck.
However today wasn’t one of those lucky peaceful days.
I wasn’t exactly the most co-operative when it came to my parents wishes of me getting married at the age of 26. I was getting ‘old’ and should settle down according to them i was past my prime. The match makers deemed me impossible to work with and thus they have resorted to last ditch efforts. The peoples marriage market. Every friday to sunday in peoples park there would be parents lined up for miles with umbrellas detailing everything about their children from their appearances to qualifications. Not that i wanted to be here but if i didnt come along i was gonna be kicked out of the house. And no one wants to pay rent prices these days. Hours passed and boredom was drilling into my soul. My phone was dying so no more watching Mack Daddy performances for me.
I waited until my parents were distracted with another couple and quietly slipped away from the crowd. I hastily made my escape to the waterfall in hopes of some momentary peace.
I walked up the small slope and perched myself down on a rock out of the view of the public and listened to the sound of running water, surrounded by the vivid green scenery. I could see why the fae liked it here, it really was beautiful in a world full of buildings. I closed my eyes trying to clear my mind when i got a eerie feeling something was watching me. My eyes flickered open as I checked the surrounding area. To my surprise nothing was there so i shrugged it off as my imagination. Once again i closed my eyes and this time i heard a rustling in a bush. Once again my eyes flickered open, but this time i saw a something red sticking out of the bush. It looked like a tail. You know what they say curiosity killed the cat and so i started to approach it. I saw a figure crouched down in the greenery with what was a red pointed tail.
The figure looked up at me with bright red eyes and a sharp shaped face. He had a slight panic upon his face before speaking in a low tone.
And with that he dissappeared. I wasn’t sure if I was imagining it or what but it felt very surreal. I headed back to my parents so that they wouldn’t hunt me down and resumed my place behind the umbrella. Not long after my mum started talking in an enthusiastic tone.
“Hey handsome young man are you here looking for a wife? My daughter would be perfect for you.”
“Baobei why would this young man be looking for a wife, I’m sure a good looking man like him will be surrounded by women.”
A familiar low toned voice spoke up.
“Actually I am looking for a wife, i just haven’t found the right girl yet…until now.”
I glanced up to see who my mother was making a fuss off. He was tall around 6ft i would presume, decked out in a black suit with a red shirt underneath. His face was sharp in all the right places and his deep brown eyes alluring. He flashed a quick smile that revealed his dimples. This guy was too good looking to be true. I didn’t trust it. His voice reminded me of the thing I heard earlier. Could they be the same?
He quickly got into a deep conversation wih my parents bringing up his qualifications for them to inspect and then turned his attention to me.
“So beautiful, what do you say, wanna make a deal with me?”
I couldnt shift this uneasy feeling I had.
“My names Yanjun. Lin Yanjun and you my angel?”
“First of all not your angel, most likely your worst nightmare. Secondly my name is y/n”
“Fiery too, everything I’ve always dreamed of.”
He started to walk towards me closing the distance between us but with every step closer he took the hotter my rose quartz started burning. I quickly lifted it up from my chest, blowing down towards the red mark upon my chest.
“Clever little fae,protecting the angel of this place.”
“What are you talking about, how do you know of the fae?”
“You could say im acquainted.” He smirked
“You’re that thing from earlier, the one spying on me with the red tail.”
“I have no idea what your talking about.” He spoke smoothly but his face suggested otherwise.
“Oh really? The whats that red thing behind you.”
he started to turn around in a circle which was quite amusing considering he was trying to play it suave.
“I’m about to be your fiancee either way what does it matter?”
“Stay away from me. You demon.”
“I did always love a challenge. How about we make a deal. If you don’t fall in love with me in one month i will leave you alone. If you do, you have to be my wife for all eternity.”
“What makes you so confident.”
“ well i know your bored of this mortal world i can show you everything you’ve dreamed of. Also i am the great Lin Yanjun, king of demons. Do you know how many women would kill to be in your position right now.”
“Then i accept your deal but only because i have vain creatures like you. Looks like i won’t be falling for you anytime soon. Plus you cant touch me, I’m never taking this quartz off.”
“We’ll see about that my darling. I’ve watched you for a very long time.” He smirked as his eyes flickered a deep red.
“Because that’s not creepy at all.”
“I look forward to our first date. I’ll pick you up tomorrow at 7pm.”
Had i really just made a deal with a devil and of all people it was the king of hell? What is wrong with my stubborness. Well there’s no way i will fall for him. Hes too arrogant. Although handsome but i can’t let his looks affect me. Either way this was going to be an interesting month. Maybe i can use him to find the elf boy again. All i know is for now this quartz is never leaving my side.
