IMPORTANT STATEMENT!!! PLEASE READ!!!

DO NOT GO AND HARASS ANYONE MENTIONED IN THIS POST! I have just spoken with Coffee-Nya and I need to clarify some stuff about the whole cult thing, and how it is being resolved. Read all the way through.

I received some complaints and concerns about the Inkypetals Fanclub (previously called a cult, but layer changed because of possible violent connotations). Those concerns have been narrowed down to a few things:

-people were concerned of a lack of statement that the whole cult thing was a joke

-usernames/character designs of the community members

-harassment of Nort and Fly as authors of this community.

-there was a similar incident (outside this fandom) that resulted in people actually getting hurt

I have spoken to Coffee about these concerns in dms and they have agreed to properly label and revise their page to be very clear that is in fact not a real cult and that THEY DO NOT CONDONE RITUALISTIC BEHAVIORS OR VIOLENCE! Coffee is not a real cult leader, I do not want anyone to hunt them down or harass them over a mistake they made. I spoke with them and it seems like they just didn’t realize the full extent and they have agreed to make changes.

This should have been obvious, but it is the internet and you cannot trust people to have been taught media literacy. The reason I believe I haven’t gotten the same concerns is mainly because unlike cults often in history have doomsday rituals, which they send their members to d!e.

Thank you to those who have brought this to my attention, thank you Coffee for hearing what people had to say.
