Introduction/About Me Post!

I'm IcyBoi, Icy for short and welcome to my Blog!
This post is meant to give some background info on who I am!
So, let's get started shall we!
I create pixel art and have been making it as far as 2018 and maybe a little bit before that. Started with using Paint.NET to make short-lived Minecraft texture packs and The Binding of Isaac reskins/resprites. At some point, I made the switch to Aseprite and continued to make more Isaac-related art and other miscellaneous art stuff. I even dabbled in some animation around 2020!
Unfortunately, my art-creating-spree would go on hiatus in around 2022-23 because of the dreaded art block. Only making art here and there. I started making more art in mid 2024 for my music, but still kinda scarce. Up until recently, I got this big surge of motivation and ideas to make art again (and that I will be posting very soon!).
As for my music,
I started messing around with it since early 2021 in a program called Bosca Ceoil. Most of it sounded very video-gamey because of the program (It was also pretty repetitive lol). My first big leap in improvement was in 2024 when I moved over to using JummBox to make music instead. With that, I started creating and improving at music non-stop. All of this lead to me releasing my first album, Decrepit and Distorted Eyes in January of this year. A few weeks later, I also make an EP titled Heart Beats in time for Valentine's Day! Both being a collection of instrumentals. :p
I have always been a huge lover of music and to be finally making it feels very surreal to me.
My main inspirations that I got me into making music in the first place were most of the western vocaloid community and artists. Now, I'm basically inspired by any song that I like and think that sounds cool.
If you are intrigued about my music and want to listen to it, here is some of my personal recommendations of what to listen to first:

And finally, Change is Inevitable --One of my older songs (November of 2024), but I still think it holds up very well. The only thing I would change is some of the mixing.
As of now, my music is only on SoundCloud, but I plan on getting it on Spotify and YouTube (and maybe Bandcamp? but we'll see).
AND also I have a huge stock of songs waiting to be released since February! I'm gonna try to make another EP or Album (though an EP is more likely). I'll be releasing two singles VERY soon tho. So, look out for that! (Dec 2025 Note: this was a lie, oops, but I will actually release them at some point. TRUST ;3)
