Things I love about this cute little episode:

It seems as though at this time Bugs and Daffy are always vacationing together, living together, or are always visiting each other. Cute start to this episode

Bugs' inability to tell where he is or travel correctly. His reliance on old or incorrect maps gives major man energy

The way Daffy complains about Bugs not listening to his direction gives frustrated wife energy

Daffy tucking himself into his shirt 😭😭😭🩷

Bugs' weird pronunciation and Daffy's automatic correction

Why'd Bugs stick his arm out like that? What was he trying to do?? Embrace him?? Gayly?

How Bugs usually takes this endlessly patient, calm, and confident role when he's paired up with Daffy like he's not just as insane, egotistical, and violent as he is. His manipulative tactics are raised 200 notches whenever he's with Daffy what is his problem genuinely

I think it's more like,

you're in a relationship and your partner goes "we need to stop eating chicken"

And you go "no, vote on, chicken is good, I like chicken it's so easy to nake and available I don't want to stop eating chicken, come on"

And they go "we must angrily swear off chicken! It gave us food poisoning the last three times we ate it!"

And you go "okay, if we must"

And then you find out your partner has been snacking on KFC on and off without telling you and while you have been struggling with this chicken-less existence.

Been thinking about this all day, and I think the main thing this movie failed to understand about itself is this: the immortality was supposed to be the premise, not the plot.

Like, the immortality piece fuels the villains in the first film, but the unknowability of it is part of the point. It’s a dreadful curse, to outlive all your loved ones. Or, it’s a powerful gift, to grow and nurture a relationship for centuries on end. Or, it’s a complicated responsibility, a way you are uniquely positioned to help make the world a better place, and how much of that mantle should you take on? It’s the premise, the vessel through which the themes and characters can be explored.

The point was never to find out the “rules” and drop a bunch of lore about it. This movie took the premise and made it the plot, and that I think was its cardinal mistake.
