girls love castles and swords and runes and sigils
things you're probably doing wrong in your witch/pagan practice
These types of lists are usually trying to sell you something, whether it's a course to "teach you the right way" or an ideology.
People who are obsessed with controlling your practice are often involved in the occult/spiritual community because they're more interested in having a cultish following rather than real spiritual development.
That's not to say there aren't any rules in witchcraft/paganism, but these rules aren't universal. Each practice comes with a personal set of rules, often unique to the practitioner.
Don't let others define how your practice should look like. Experiment and find what does and doesn't work for you!
However, if you aren't working to decolonize your practice and are actively disrespecting a practice, you are doing something wrong.
this feels relevant again, as I'm seeing weird discourse about tarot v. lenormand cards now. just a reminder that social media is not your best friend when it comes to building a practice, and you should never take statements at face value. do your own deeper dive, build some experience, and come to your own conclusions!
Meme templates X tarot
i usually don't like using tarot spreads but i WILL be using those
I think it's hilarious that hands down the worst way to learn magic is the actual rulebook. Please do not read that. It's just there for reference when something weird happens
posts that i know are about magic the gathering but i have to check to make sure op isn't just living in a way doper world than me
posts i fully thought were about actual witchcraft because i went yeah, totally in my head after reading it
february is for hugs, telling people you love them, warm tea, cute sweaters, fresh flowers, baking heart shaped cookies and lighting candles everywhere
Restorative Roasted Vegetable (and optional chicken) Soup
I found this recipe earlier today, already called Restorative Roasted Vegetable Soup and inspiration hit to look up the correspondences and share it with all of you (recipe sourced from the book Bite Me by Julie Albert and Lisa Gnat).
Ingredients (makes 8 servings):
2 large carrots, peeled and cut into 2.5cm cubes
1 large sweet potato, peeled and cut into 2.5cm cubes
2 zucchinis, cut into 2.5cm cubes
1 large capsicum, deseeded and cut into 2.5cm cubes
1 red onion, cut into 2.5cm cubes
75g small mushrooms, peeled and quartered
3 tablespoons olive oil
½ teaspoon sea salt
3 fresh rosemary sprigs
225ml water
1.9L chicken stock (or vegetable stock, if making it vegetarian/vegan)
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1cm cubes (optional)
225g cooked farfalle pasta
Method:
Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5. Line a baking sheet with foil and coat with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine the carrots, sweet potato, zucchini, capsicum, onion and mushrooms. Add oil and salt (I personally use Celtic Sea Salt), tossing well to coat. Spread the veges out on the baking sheet and nestle the rosemary sprigs among the vegetables. Bake for 40-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, discard the rosemary sprigs at the end.
In a large saucepan, combine the water, stock and chicken (if using). Bring to the boil over a high heat. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes. Add the roasted vegetables and simmer for a further 10 minutes. Add the cooked pasta and heat through.
Serve in your favourite bowl!

Spoonie Witch Tips:
Make on a day where you don’t have to expend as many spoons as usual, so you can focus your energy on the restorative properties of the soup.
Pre-package the soup into portions and refrigerate/freeze (depending on how quickly you think you’ll eat them).
When reheating, focus your intentions on the soup restoring you and your energy (this goes for everyone, not just spoonies).
Good luck and happy cooking!
🔥 5 Witchcraft Myths That Are Wasting Your Time (And Keeping You Powerless)
You’re here for magic, not myths. Let’s burn some bad advice together.
1. You must buy all your tools. Wrong. Your magic is in you, not in a $200 wand from Etsy. A stick, a spoon, or your finger will do.
2. You have to be born into it. Nope. That’s just witchy gatekeeping. The spirits don’t check your family tree before showing up.
3. All spells need fancy ingredients. If it’s not accessible, it’s not practical magic. Salt, thread, paper, and your own spit have toppled kingdoms.
4. You have to be “pure” to practice. Magic doesn’t care if you swore last night, forgot your crystals in the sun, or ate fast food. You’re still a witch.
5. You can’t curse and heal. Duality is the heart of witchcraft. You can protect, curse, bless, hex, and heal all in one week if you want.
✨ Here’s the truth: Your magic works when you do. Not when you follow rules made by someone selling you aesthetic candles at triple price.
🔮 Which of these myths did you believe when you started? Reblog with your answers let’s see how many of us were lied to.
just a PSA to ALWAYS RESEARCH HERBS/PLANTS BEFORE PUTTING THEM IN YOUR BODY
did you know that st john's wort can induce serotonin syndrome? which is life threatening (and very painful!!) btw
did you know that red raspberry leaf can worsen hormonal imbalances and irregular menstrual cycles?
did you know that ginger (yes!! that ginger!! the one that's in every other tea recipe out there!!) can thin your blood? which can be life threatening for people with certain conditions
and there's so much more this community as a whole should be aware of, especially when considering herbs to consume or apply to the skin
the resource i use most often is just this wikipedia article, although you should do individual research just to double check
i don't make this post to try to induce widespread fear of herbal remedies/a good ol herbal tea now and then, im just saying that not everything natural is good for you, and sometimes modern medicine is right. always consider consulting a physician before self-medicating or trying potentially harmful substances

In the witchcraft community we talk about witch's ladders a lot but y'all are seriously sleeping on the potential paper chains have. Yes the ones you made in Kindergarten.
For example, I just did a protection spell for myself and my community by making a paper chain from recycled local newspaper and some light sigilwork on each loop. You could do all sorts of workings with paper chains by changing the material, using color correspondences, sigils, etc.

Be Careful in Witchy Spaces Online 🕯️
Social media is full of witches, tarot readers, and magical advice. That can be amazing for building community, but it can also be dangerous if you are not careful.
Let’s Talk More About Spiritual Psychosis
My last post on spiritual psychosis sparked a lot of discussion, and I want to go deeper because this is a serious and complicated subject.
if it sucks hit da bricks <- litany against sunk cost
take it easy but take it <- litany against burnout/apathy cycle
fuck it we ball <- litany against perfectionism
now say something beautiful and true <- litany against irony poisoning
casting these before getting out of bed like buff spells before a raid boss
Some little things I've learned over a decade of witchcraft:
If you are feel called to work but are tired/drained, sit outside. Take in all the energies around you. Nature can help charge you
Every witch does a little bit of a bunch of types of magic but sticks mainly to one or two in general. You usually won't be eclectic forever. You'll find what magics work best with you.
Never be lazy or cut corners with spirits. Always be respectful and always tell them to leave when you're done
When you see a plant or ingredient with a long list of properties, there are different things at play. Season of collection, the part of the plant, the health of the plant, etc all play a role in impacting which properties it will carry.
Don't call on spirits unless you have confidence and control
Be careful with sea/water magic. Get into it gently and slowly until you have the energy figured out because it can get out of hand quickly.
Adding a little pinch of magic into your breakfast can make a major difference in your day.
Your personal emotions/feelings over something will impact a work
Planting some plants is good, not only to have a garden, but the dirt helps cleanse you too. Get all dirty and muddy. It's good for ya
Not all trees are nice
The more you listen to your intuition, the easier it will be to tell it apart from your anxieties and worries
Incense is very easy to make which is why it's usually cheap to buy. But you can find a million tutorials online on how to make your own personal incense which is great if you want a spell to take effect over a while but also want to infuse the fire energy in it.
The more you work with something the better feel you get for it. Cinnamon goes in almost everything i cook and most of my spells because me and cinnamon just get right along
Your path is yours and no one else's. It will look like yours and no one else's
