Magic Judge Program Preview Card: Nephalia Academy

It was a dark and stormy night: Perfect weather for animating skaabs. Each of the young stitchers waited with patient apprehension for their turn on the rooftop as the Head Stitcher carefully examined the projects one last time to make sure that all of the amalgamated flesh was truly dead and carried no signs of Emrakul’s corruption.

Meanwhile in the library, students and researchers worked in near silence with only the occasional scratch of a quill, a muffled cough, or the turn of a page to distract from the storm raging outside.

In the sea of madness and delirium that Innistrad had become, somehow this place had survived as a sanctuary.

Also valid Izzet lands: Sulfur Falls, Steam Vents(shock land), Shivan Reef(pain land), Cascade Bluffs(filter land), Temple of Epiphany(scry land), Volcanic Island(OG dual land). Wandering Fumarole is a land that can become a creature, and Izzet Keyrune is an artifact that taps for mana and can become a creature. 

However, the inclusion of Volcanic Island on this list should inform you that these lands, unlike the ones detailed in the above post, are not necessarily budget. Most of them are under 5 dollars, though. We here at the Izzet League believe this is because the combination of blue and red mana is easily the best, and so obviously high demand from many planeswalkers has driven up prices. While we do not have as many budget lands as the Azorius or the Selesnya, I fiercely recommend getting your hands on all of these lands to put in your decks.

Well, except Volcanic Island. And Cascade Bluffs, maybe. I don’t want any of you selling off your experiments to buy lands. You know better.
