I feel like when I say ‘relatable’ what I really mean is ‘resonant.’ I don’t want characters who I feel are like me, I want characters who have emotions so strong I can feel them through the page.

I think this is important because a lot of us forget the power of stories to make us feel things about characters who are not like us, who have experienced things that we never will. The purpose of listening to someone else’s story should not necessarily be identification, but understanding.

What if Jefferson is aware of Max's power and somehow wants to snatch it away from her ? Lately this dynamic seems like possibility to me since I have read the fanfiction The Coffee Shop. Lemme know ur thoughts. Sometimes I get bored of way too cheesy Mark Jefferson which can get out of line but Capturing your soul's Jefferson had the perfect shot. I like your works too btw. Often times it's the chemistry and dynamic that stand out to me than chessy fluffs.

I'm in it for the romance. Even if Jefferson is dark, he is not the villain in Max's story — but certainly in other characters' stories (Nathan, Kate, Rachel etc.). So Max may make excuses for him in her mind, because she is in love with him, which is what creates conflict, but he is not going to exploit or abuse her. I'm personally not interested in stories like that.

It's been on my mind lately but I wouldn't mind seeing vortex Max x Mark Jefferson too ya know cocky Max unafraid a little bit of defiance triggering Mark Jefferson we could explore so much more with Max's character currently reading Marked Ao3 you should check this out but I dun want Max to submit properly just because she doesn't say doesn't mean she doesn't want to. I'm referring to that nightmare scene where she said our dark room pretty fascinating what ya think?

I myself am a fan of a more shy and pure Max, and that's how I liked writing her. If anything, I would prefer see her grow into a defiant person (or just grow overall), after everything she's been through, rather than start off that way. Which would likely confuse Jefferson, because she no longer fits into the image he has of her. But I would like her to remain a good person.

That being said, the best way to get a fic you thought of is writing it yourself. That is how I started. You might be surprised how fun it gets, even if you've had no experience in writing prior to it :)

Glad you replied lol, I first discovered it on Ao3 I read the part where Mark was like yes Im cereal and I burst out laughing anyways I'm currently reading it now I really think you should continue with this story and yes your story reminded me of Capturing your soul however I'm sure there is more to your characters. Are you an avid reader as well as a writer btw ? Of other fandoms too? Lemme know

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! And yes, @entaiho's Capturing Your Soul (as well as Lunavere's Chiaroscuro) was definitely one of my main inspirations for this story, so your hunch is correct :)

Unfortunately, I don't get much time to read or write these days, although I still care about both of my stories very much. Maybe someday I'll finish it, but I can't guarantee anything. But to answer your question fully, I've only written for Jefferfield. I have read from other fandoms, though, like The 100 and The Hunger Games.
