Blaze is the son of a powerful weapons magnate, a man who valued business over family. After his mother died, his strict uncle — head of a major hospital — took over his upbringing, raising him under relentless discipline. Lessons, training, and art filled his days, with perfection demanded at every turn, turning his childhood into a constant test of endurance.
Blaze grew up in cold luxury: surrounded by servants, yet left emotionally alone. Wealth meant nothing to him; he often destroyed valuables in quiet rebellion against his father’s indifference.
This inner emptiness became both a weakness and a source of strength. At school, his intelligence and manipulative tendencies became apparent: he could spot people’s weaknesses, draw them into psychological games and debates, and take pleasure in the attention and power it brought him.
His looks are plain but expressive: pale hair and a piercing gaze. He often wears contact lenses, hiding his blue eyes — a symbol of a new mask, a new role he adopts in the moment.
Personality. He can be cold and ruthless, concealing vulnerability and a desire for recognition, but occasionally he shows rare glimpses of sincerity. To him, life is a game board, where every move is meant to strengthen his position, even if it requires sacrifice.
Strengths: sharp mind, strategic thinking, ability to read people, charisma, and courage.
Weaknesses: emotional emptiness, tendency to manipulate, impulsiveness in moments of vulnerability.
Ambitions: to prove his own significance, step out of his father’s shadow, make a name for himself, take control of his life, and gain independence and recognition.

Their bond grew from a mutual recognition of each other’s intellect. Cesare saw Blaze’s cold mind and dark wit—traits he respects. Blaze, in turn, values Cesare’s exceptional thinking, integrity, and inner discipline.
They can go days without speaking—and still feel that everything is fine. They spend time in the same room, reading, sometimes debating, but most of the time just coexist in the same space, like two solitary people who feel comfortable being near one another.
Cesare notices Blaze’s selfishness and overconfidence—and while he doesn’t approve, he respects him for being honest about who he is.
Blaze knows that Cesare won’t flatter him. And that keeps him sharp. He respects that Cesare can see the heart of things without getting distracted by appearances or superficial emotions.
Neither of them would admit that they need each other’s friendship, but Blaze often invites Cesare to his family estate for holidays or weekends—and Cesare always comes.
Falling in love was definitely not part of the plan.
Cesare knew how to plan—mathematically, with precision down to the formula, the architecture of his own future: studies, projects, developments. And of course, friendships—built not at the call of the heart, but through the mutual benefit of the mind. Like with Blaise. He calculated it himself, initiated it, built the connection. Control.
But Audrey—she wasn’t part of the calculations.
Curly-haired, fair, with a doll-like face and a voice that made most people’s hearts race—by his logic, she should have been irritating. Nonsense wrapped in shiny tinsel. He’d seen girls like that before. Remembered them from childhood.
He didn’t believe in the sincerity of beauty.
Because he had learned too early that beauty could lie.
He saw how others looked at her—paused, smiled, reached out. But not him. He took a step back.
She couldn’t be figured out by his usual methods.
Couldn’t be balanced, computed, broken down into variables.
She was chaos. Colorful. Warm. Alive.
And because of that—especially dangerous.
Yet his gaze still kept catching on her light hair, her open palm, her eyes with no pretense.
“I’m not in love,” thinks Cesare.
“It’s just an error in my head. A glitch in the code.”

И, конечно, дружба — та, что выстраивалась не по зову сердца, а по взаимной выгоде ума. Как с Блейзом. Он сам всё рассчитал, инициировал, выстроил контакт. Контроль. Уравнение.
А вот Одри — в этих расчётах не значилась.
Кудрявая, светлая, с кукольным лицом и милым голосом, от которого у большинства учащается пульс, — по его логике, она должна была раздражать. Чепуха, обёрнутая в блестящую мишуру. Таких он видел. Таких запоминал с детства.
Он не верил в искренность красоты.
Потому что слишком рано понял: красота умеет врать.
Он видел, как другие на неё смотрят — замирают, улыбаются, тянутся. А он нет. Он делает шаг назад.
С ней невозможно разбираться привычными методами.
Невозможно уравновесить, вычислить, распилить на переменные.
Она хаос. Цветной. Тёплый. Живой. И от этого — особенно опасный.
Но взгляд всё равно снова цепляется за светлые волосы, за распахнутую ладонь, за глаза, в которых нет притворства.
«Я не влюблён», — думает Чезаре.
«Просто у меня в голове ошибка. Сбой кода».
