hey re: ur comment on the bee/wasp post, that basically just means that there are more aggressive wasps in your area than aggressive bees in your area. the wasps we get stung by are only a tiny portion of all wasps, we're just super aware of those ones. so there could be like tiny wasps all around your area being chill that you don't get a chance to see or that look like other insects.

That's neat. I think in my area we call the insects technically referred to as "wasps" different names. The Assholes are Red Wasps.

i know we’ve talked a lot about how steve was the first (1st) one to sprint to tony’s rescue once he arrived on earth, but can we also talk about what tony’s gut reaction was? in that moment he wasn’t even mad, he didn’t even think of all the shit that had gone down between them. his first words were “i lost the kid”. that’s tony at his most vulnerable; that’s tony presenting his shattered heart on a platter because his worst nightmare had come true; he’d brought peter into this mess and, despite all his best efforts to protect him, tony had failed. and for him to willingly admit that to steve, aware that steve could throw that back in his face, but knowing (trusting) that he won’t – because, when push comes to shove, when it matters, they’re each other’s partners in this & they stand together. tony’s loss is steve’s loss. tony said “i lost the kid”, but what he actually meant was “we lost the kid”; and what he actually, actually meant was “help me carry this burden because i’m about to break”.

My favorite part of Captain Marvel was the fact that Carol keeps getting told to control her emotions throughout the movie and yet she continues to be just as emotional as she damn well pleases…AND it turns out to be the key to unlocking her power in the end. because as women aren’t we always being told to “tone it down”, to sit down and shut up, that stoicism=strength and emotions=weakness? So to turn around and give us a powerful female character who cries and rages and laughs, and to have that emotional, human side of her be her strength… this is the female characterization we need.
