Here’s a complied list of the fanfics I’ve been working on over the last four years and their status!
One off stories
1) Harry Potter - James Sirius Potter gets bored (WIP)
A time travel/AU story where Dumbledore never turned in Hermione’s time turner and her godson and eldest nephew got a hold of it with disastrous results. This is easily the most read bit of writing I’ve ever done and I’m still flabbergasted by the community’s response.
2) The West Wing - The Mosses travel to Washington (completed)
My first attempt an fanfic, I wanted to play in the AU universe created by Bondi Gargoyle’s The Snowbowl. After Josh and Donna figure out their relationship status during a trip to Wisconsin for Thanksgiving, chaos hits the White House right as the Mosses show up in town for the Christmas holidays.
Series
1) The West Wing - We’re the Future (WIP)
A look at the Santos Administration along with the personal and professional relationships that develop. With WW3 potentially brewing in Central Asia…what’s a few more domestic and international crisis to add to their plate?
2) Harry Potter - A life worth living (WIP)
A post-war, post-books series that sticks with our heroes as they help rebuild the wizarding world and their shattered lives. Cannon ships, but will diverge from cannon massively.
roald dahl was antisemitic and misogynistic. george orwell was openly homophobic. edgar allan poe married his 13 year old cousin. dr seuss cheated on his wife (and was racist as well as antisemitic!). hp lovecraft was racist as fuck.
anyways they’re fucking dead it’s not like you’re enabling their behaviors in the afterlife or something. then again I think they bleed into the books so uh keep an eye out for that
the difference between these old white guys and jk rowling is that the former group is all dead. jk rowling is alive and using your money to oppress trans people
Tension ached in his lower back as he bent down towards the capstan and reached for the tightly bound rope. As his wrinkled hand reached down for the knot when there was an outcry from off his boat’s stern.
With a loud snap; he stood up as his head turned towards the street where a crowd thrummed with fear as people streamed across the street. And then he heard every sailor’s nightmare.
The angry crackle of fire as it consumed everything in its path.
He turned his head around and saw nothing off the starboard bow. But a few hundred feet of us port bow was a white excursion paddle steamer, with its midships ablaze as angry tongues of fire licked aft. Where the woman and children were pinned against the railing.
“Cut the ropes!” His weathered voice shouted out over the din from the crowd.
There was a flurry of activity as he raced forward to the wheelhouse. As he gripped the dented brass handle, and twisted, he heard the dull thwack of machetes as they hit the brand new rope he’d bought just last night. The skipper let out a dark chuckle when he pictured the reaction of the shop owner when he stopped by tonight to buy replace the ropes, again.
Once he wrenched the door open, it was only a couple of steps until he reached the speaking tube; “I need full steam, now.”
“Aye, sir!” Came the tight, but unsurprised, voice from the engine room. One of the deck hands probably headed below to let the engineer know. The door was yanked open and interrupted his thoughts.
“Ropes are free sir, they’re bringing the boiler up to full pressure as quickly as they can.” The speaker was out of breath.
“Thank you, have the crew take departure stations. Once we’re free of the pier I want the boat swung out and ready to pick up survivors.”
“Yes sir!” That was followed by the clack of steps on the wooden deck before the door slammed shut. He scowled before he made his way over to the door and reached his weathered hand out to the handle before he twisted it open.
Once the door was secured in the open position, he felt the engines rumble to life below his feet. He quickly took up position at the helm and turned the bow so it was free of the pier.
As they pulled clear of the dockside, his eyes continued to track the pyre as it raced up the East River. The steamer was well north of his ship by now and a procession of tugs, river freighters, and pleasure craft trailed behind her. He twisted his helm and aimed his ship to join the front of the line of rescue boats.
It took only a few minutes for him to get close enough to feel the heat that radiated off the doomed ship. A hollow ache filled his stomach as he watched women toss their children overboard.
Out of the corner of his eye, he registered on of his deck hands approach the bow. Before they spun around and headed right to his open door.
“Sir, the children aren’t comin’ back up!”
The captain’s blood chilled, “What do you mean?”
“The children that are being thrown overboard,” the young man’s face was pale as his voice shook. “They aren’t comin’ back up! It’s like they’re being drug to the bottom of the river.”
I think a lot of transmisogyny stems from this idea that people are really scared to see a dick. The reason bathrooms and locker rooms and hot springs keep being flash points is because these are all places where if a trans woman is using them, it's possible you might see her dick. A lot of transmisogynistic humor revolves around being traumatized because the subject saw a woman with a penis. And look, to a certain extent I sympathize. I'm not a fan of dick; I dont want this thing either. But if you want to be an ally to trans women, I think a big important step you can take personally is to examine your own reaction to the scenarios I described above, and recognize that a dick is just a body part a girl has sometimes. Seeing it as inherently sexual and/or traumatizing is a major wedge conservatives use to justify their rhetoric
Every problem that Josh, Sam, Toby, and Leo hid from CJ has been an issue that she was directly questioned about.
It doesn't take much for the media to find out stories, to be honest. Everyone loves to blab, and the duty of a journalist is to filter the "highlight" from the long-winded rambling.
What bothers me the most is the way these men undermine the work that CJ does and fuck up her reputation—a reputation, mind you, is a very important thing when in media—and the continuous belief that "the press won't find out about it."
The press will most definitely find out about it, 'cause that's their fucking job!
How do people not understand this? Everyone continues to vilify the media when it's your own fuck-ups that result in stories that damage your name.
I’m sorry but the funniest thing Katniss Everdeen has ever done is assume the other Victors were trying to protect Peeta simply because they also knew he was the most pure-hearted and deserving person to win the Quell!
Like no babes! You’re just in love with him and everyone can tell! They figured out very fast that the revolution is DOA if bread boy dies!
"the most unrealistic thing about project hail mary is that a woman is in charge" WRONG look up the glass cliff. women are much more likely to be promoted to positions of power when things are going poorly and people need a woman to blame. she refers to herself as the "world's whipping boy." the person put in the position to have to commit ecological and humanitarian crimes of that scale in order to save the earth would only ever be a woman.
Yet another new study debunked the basis for the anti-trans sports bans. It was never about sports but for creating legal avenues for exclusion and abjection. This is one of the largest analyses ever conducted, involving 52 studies and 6,485 trans people. Read the study here.
People asking why Artemis II matters, lemme tell you
1. First woman to enter deep space, Christina Koch, went as a mission specialist to help test the preventative measures against the radiation that causes cancer in the ships, and primarily affects women. It affects men too but less so. Christina's literally so inspiring to me.
2. This mission and further Artemis missions are testing safety concerns to help push the boundary of what we've been able to explore up to this point. Safety is the primary purpose of the trip. This is the first step to exploring Mars and further planets! Including Europa (my beloved.)
3. Before this, only 24 humans have ever entered deep space. Of that 24, 5 are alive today and they're all in their 90s. We very much needed a newer trip to help confirm or change whatever information we had from years and years ago. Having 4 living testaments of space exploration is a very important part of keeping said exploration alive.
4. Even though it wasn't the primary purpose of the trip, we've gotten so many rare pictures! Including my favorite "Hello, World" taken by commander Reid Wiseman:
It's the second photo EVER to have a fulll illuminated Earth hemisphere, the first being "Blue Marble". All other photos of the Earth have been spliced. Blue Marble was taken during the day and Hello, World was taken at night (the exposure has been lifted for clarity). It's my new favorite photo, it's so beautiful.
The most hardcore thing that Harry James Potter ever did was not, contrary to popular belief, the “there’s no need to call me ‘sir,’ Professor” incident, but instead was either the time that he
a) laid into one of the people he respected most in the world (and the only authority figure in his life offering him help in one of the most desperate situations he’d ever been in) for leaving his pregnant wife, going “man, you’re inhibited by your own self-loathing and fear? That’s rough. That really sucks. But you know what trumps that? RESPONSIBILITY. You brought a child into the world. You’re a father now. You’re scared? Walk it off. Walk it off AAAAAALLLL THE WAY BACK HOME. And say hi to Tonks for me.”
or
b) he willingly let himself be murdered, came back from the dead, walked back onto the battlefield, stared his own killer dead in the eyes completely unimpressed and called him “Tom”
Everyone keeps saying it makes no sense that Harry, who hated his fame, ended up with Ginny, who had a crush on him because of his fame. But that's ... not true. Ginny had a crush on just Harry, not the boy who lived. She knew Harry hated his fame. Remember the first time Ginny spoke in front of Harry after Malfoy mocked his fame? 'Leave him alone, he didn't want all that!'
If anyone was obsessed with Harry because of his fame, it was Colin Creevey. Ginny's obsession with Harry was nothing like Colin's. She wasn't imposing, she never annoyed Harry, she left him alone. Harry was the one who used to reach out to her and tried to talk to her in the beginning. So yeah, the 'Harry never noticed Ginny' argument isn't true either. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
