Where and when to view the Superstition Mountains cougar shadow
If you want to see this phenomenon in person, head to the vicinity of Superstition Blvd and Goldfield Road in Apache Junction for a relatively unobstructed view.
Timing is critical. The cougar only appears during the third week of March and September.
The last 30 minutes before official sunset is prime time for viewing.

Banana bread baddie cannot be a well known cultural concept. This has to be a weird coincidence
People really need to take a wider view of this paranoia about age gaps and realise this is how we lose the ability to build communities. You need to be able to realise that people can have things in common with you even if they grew up in a different time/place/culture. You also need to realise you can build communities with people who don’t have obvious things in common with you, that people can have the same goals and needs as you even if in most ways they’re very unlike you. Now, more than ever, we need to be able to work together to have any chance to stand ip against the few who have so, so much more power, money and influence than any of us do individually. We need to form communities that reach across age (and class and race and sexuality and so on…).
Feels weird to call myself an adult. As a kid they really make you think that there is a hard line between adult and kid and that there’s just such a huge difference between them. And then you become an adult. And you feel the same. There’s so big revelation where you understand life and become a functional adult. You just stay you.
The older i get the more i understand why some people become obsessed with privacy, not because they’re hiding something, but because being constantly perceived starts to feel spiritually exhausting.
Did you know that soda machines at restaurants and movie theaters spy on you? That most common new cars now record your sexual preferences and send it to the manufacturer (and also data about anyone who also gets in your car, walks by your car, and maybe happens to be within visual range of your car)? That grocery stores are trying to force customers to download an app to scan barcodes on shelves instead of putting up prices, so the app can scan the phone, decide how much that customer should be squeezed for, and adjust the price? That more and more innocent people are being sent to jail for crimes committed hundreds of miles away because an AI facial recognition algorithm spit their faces out and the cops didn't bother to do the most basic of checks?
I am not uptight about privacy because I'm hiding something. I'm uptight about it because the people who dismiss my right to privacy are dangerous to you and me and our families, personally, all the time.
And often, they are assholes, too.

I’ve been seeing variations on these since probably the 90s—have any of y’all ever had one? It always seems to me like a pretty awful way to eat a bug
I have seen, bought, and not eaten one. I'm scared of them, haha. I have watched other people eat them though! By all reports the bug inside is crunchy, bitter, and weirdly dusty. And the candy part is also not very good
hey, tag this with a food people get really upset about you not liking
