On a whim I ordered different patterned cloths because I want to sew bags for my Tarot Cards. I can’t sew. Gotta learn how to do it now. Oh Gods. WIsh me luck. As a 11 year old I sewed a small bag in school I think.

I’ve also ordered a fabric that I want to use as an altar cloth - the one I want to sit at a few minutes every day, not one of those for my gods.

I know we all call this a hellsite and whatnot, but Tumblr is really the only social media I’ve found that doesn’t absolutely fuck me over with visual overstimulation. Like. I scroll down in a happy little line. No buttons at the top flashing stuff. Space between posts that are clear and discernible. Lots of images vs a bunch of tiny micro text (twitter looking at u). VERY easy to ignore comments (replies) unless wanted. Easy to tailor my feed to pretty much only the things *I* want. Ads don’t feel intrusive. Chronological feed so I can actually find smth again despite being a scatterbrain.

So tumblr you may be hell but you’re like the first level of hell and all the rest are seventh.

One day I would like a show where a protagonist just rejects/friend zones every one that approachs them.

And I don’t mean in a mean or harsh way or that the characters that approach them are bad. In fact i want the opposite. I want a show where the plot follows exactly the story line of ‘these two characters are going to end up together’ not as a main plot, but as a side plot. And so, as the people are going on an adventure the whole thing seems to be building up to the two characters getting together

Except in the final episode of the season when the ‘confession’ happens the main character just says no. Sorry. Nothing fancy really just a soft and friendly rejection and the audience is forced to realize that every ‘romantic’ hint was just because they were conditioned to believe romance was happening and that the second character fell into the same thing but, to the protagonist they were just being friendly.

And the same thing keeps happening, season after season or just person after person and some people take the rejection badly, some people take it well, some people reject the protagonist first thinking that they were about to confess even though they weren’t. And, at the end it just ends. The main plot is concluded, everyone is happy, and the protagonist doesn’t end up with anyone. There is no magical person they were waiting for, no individual that came out of nowhere in the final season. No one. They spent the whole ‘romantic side story’ rejecting all the expected romantic partners and, at the end, end up alone and perfectly happy about it. No regreses, no sadness, no back-thoughts of missed romance. In fact they aren’t thinking about any of that at all, all they are thinking about are the great friends and companions they got along the way.

Just a story that leads people on and on and on not because anything that is happening is actually romantic, but because people have been trained to expect it and it just...doesn’t happen. At all.

Anyway this is probably not very coherent sorry 😂

First set up: protag boy & protag girl. They look at each other. Everything assumes they will end the season as a couple because That’s What Happens. Only half way through you meet protag girls wife.

Second Up: the ‘serious character’ who everyone assumes will now be the romantic interest because “serious character’s heart melts because they fall for happy/friendly protag” because That’s What Happens. Only for them to go their separate ways once the purpose of their team up is done without any mention of anything romantic even being between them at all

Third up: protags best friend grom childhood shows and everyone assumes THIS is where the romance is going to be, long lost love and all that. They are shown laughing, interacting happily with each other, reminiscing, but in the end nothing romantic comes from it because they really are just good friends.

Fourth up: #gorgous character shows up in the plot and surly this absolute deity of a person MUST be the love interest only, nope. Protag helps them out and they are thankful and move on with their life.

(Bonus fifth for alloaro/sex-favorable aro protag: this season/episode opens with them post-sex as sexual partner heads out. We don’t see them again for a few episodes but then they need help with something and surly THIS will be the romance! They had SEX! Only nope, ends with a “thanks for the help!” And a “no problem” And we never see the person again”)

I’m sure there are more ‘romance plots’ I just can’t think of them right now so that’s what I’ve got.

There is this villain/main antagonist/whatever and there is Chemistry between the two, except when the villain makes a flirty joke or something like that, protag rejects them just like all of the potential romantic interests before, most likely in a mean way though (since it's The Biggest Villain we're talking about). And antagonist understands and respects their boundaries while the fandom is bursting with flames. How's that?
