if you say women are intentionally nerfed from birth in 2026 people look at you like you’re insane and start condescendingly telling you about how women are just better at different things (but not during their periods haha) but this was a completely basic feminist talking point I grew up with like “girls can do it too! J'ai été voir HOUSE (1977) au cinéma vendredi dernier et depuis je suis obsédée vis à vis de ce film.

J'ai trop aimé, les tenues, les décors, l'histoire simple mais bien réalisée. Certes, c'est un peu kistch, la musique répétitive. Mais c'est vraiment un précurseur du cinéma psychédélique et d'horreur japonais. On voit vraiment que tous ceux qui ont travaillé sur ce film y ont mis du cœur et les efforts nécessaires. Et que son succès populaire ne l'a pas fait se faire oublié, malgré les producteurs qui n'y croyaient pas (et qui pourtant ont financé et laissé carte blanche pour un "blockbuster d'horreur").

Aussi, comme je commence à avoir un niveau de dépatouillage en japonais, j'ai remarqué quelques sens/sous entendus et jeux de mots pas facile à transcrire pour le public occidental, et ça m'a grave rendu fière !
