Hey, it's okay. You've been through a lot, your mind focusing on surviving, not leaving room for much else. You haven't lost yourself, not at all.

@onceupon-a-decembr asked: dimya height difference
The Grand Duchess Anastasia would care to disagree, Dima!

who needs therapy when you have scarletvision height difference
ok very funny guys. you got me. now seriously who left all these neurotypicals in charge of the mental health field
who left all these healthy doctors in charge of the hospital
is literally what this sounds like
God, can you imagine how awful that would be? People with amputations consulting on things like prosthesis?
People in wheelchairs designing living and working spaces for people with mobility issues?
Autistic people actually trying to help other autistic people?
OMG, just thing – wouldn’t ti be awful if people who are now in remission actually helped manage the pain and other symptoms that come with having and treating cancer?
I mean seriously, what on Earth do any of those people really have to add to the discussion? What could they possibly know that an able-bodied neurotypical wouldn’t already know? I mean, experience doesn’t teach all that much!
/end sarcasm.
My care for EDS got radically better when my doctor’s kid was diagnosed.
Dr. Marsha M. Linehan more or less reinvented the field of behavioral therapy after spending years being treated to the worst 1950-60s psychiatry had to offer. She created the system now known as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, now considered one of the most effective treatments for suicidal and self-destructive behaviors, as well as pretty much any other form of mental illness or mood/behavior disorders. She was able to do all of this BECAUSE she’s self-diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, not in spite of it.
The only therapist, out of the many I have seen over the past 30 years, to succesfuly treat my anxiety? The one who had anxiety herself. Not a coincidence.
Doctors with Disabilities Are Changing the System
The idea that a ‘healthy’ person is automatically more qualified than anyone else regardless of what field we’re talking about, is straight up abelism.
I wrote a whole ass checklist to help people discover what ADHD symptoms are, and I’d do it again to help someone.
We know what our symptoms are like on the inside. Internally. We know what happens and how to catch it from the inside. How it feels, how we think. Doctors without a first hand account don’t.
Just us screaming our favorite song together in the car. Both of us smile at each other when the chorus hits.

"Fuck you my child is completely fine" Your child cries with the breaking dawn part 2 end credits.
i don’t know rlly how to articulate this but,, breaking dawn feels like it is twilight au fanfiction written by e.l. james. like, it reads like a teenager saw eclipse in theaters (but hadn’t read the books), got blue balls, and wrote horny fanfiction and that teenager was e.l. james. like the whole teenage marriage and (~mystical hyperspeed~) pregnancy thing and oh no bella died edward is distraught oh wait he saved her last minute oh wait let’s sprinkle in a love triangle between bella and her daughter oh and bella’s daughter is perfect and so special that she must be murdered but in the end everything is perfect and oh i’ll switch the pov halfway through as a character exercise— “a/n: it was really fun getting into this wolfpack headspace, hope you guys enjoyed and be sure to leave a kudos :)”-type energy. it reads like something i’d find in a depraved sleep-deprived state at 4:07 a.m. on ao3 but ultimately skip because it strayed too far from canon and it was tagged as a/b/o and i don’t have a breeding kink. breaking dawn is the same ice cream flavor as the last season of the office. that’s the best way i can explain it
hello here is a supercorp selfie 🥰
Mary Malone: Screw this religion shit, I’m going to totally restart my life and devote myself to science
The science: yeah, we’re vengeful angels
Mary Malone:
The Macaroon Saga™
Charities/organisations to avoid:
PETA: They’d rather spend their money on publicity campaigns than on the animals in their care. PETA killed 73.8% of the animals in their care in 2015 (x)
FCKH8: Is a for-profit company that exploits oppressed groups for money. They’re also wildly uninformed, and spread misogyny, cissexism and bi/panphobia, as well as stealing their posts/designs (x)
Autism Speaks: They spend most of their money on researching a way to eliminate autism, heighten the stigma against autism and don’t have a single autistic person on their board (x)
Please support other, better charities, and feel free to add any others you can think of to this.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure: CEO makes insane amounts of money, they deny a lot of requests for wigs/help with treatment/etc., and have attempted to sue other charities that use the color pink as part of their anti-breast cancer campaign. ( x x x )
The Salvation Army: They promote the hatred of LGBT+ people, work with fundamentalist Christian groups to support conservative politics and rip off and exploit workers. ( x x x )
Wounded Warrior: They take money that should be spent on veterans and blow it on huge opulent parties for the company bigwigs. 26 million in 2014 alone wasted! ( x x x )
^ Important reminder to NOT waste any money donating to these groups
Reblogging because of the added info about Wounded Warrior.
A good way to know if a nonprofit you’re donating to is allocating their money in the right way is to check out their Charity Navigator rating: http://www.charitynavigator.org
Signal boosting, the bell ringers are out in force, and this info is too important.
Charity season is coming up in not even two months, so I feel like this is important to share now before it’s too late.
It’s my favorite thing when a lesbian is just like “I got extra fries with my meal, gay rights” or an enby is like “wow trans rights I just got a free gift card to the movies” or a bi dude is like “finally found a plant that won’t die, queer rights I guess.” Like that is the funniest shit I don’t care.
Even better than its negative counterpart, “it’s raining, this is homophobic,” or “real transphobia is that I can’t get past this level.”
straight people HATE when we do this. they don’t understand it at all which makes it even better
