happy social distancing im emotional about ned chicane bc imagine if kirby (a nerd w a camera) just filmed ned a whole bunch bc he wanted a blooper reel for the saturday night dead website as like bonus content
but after ned dies he goes over it and puts together some clips for ned kepler family so we see
clip one: aubrey and ned talking about saturday night dead at the cryptonomica. aubrey notices the time
aubrey: oh shit i gotta go ned im meeting dani at the springs ill catch ya later *she rushes out the door*
ned: *chuckles to himself* theyre gonna be so in love some day
clip two: just duck and ned laughing their asses off at an inside joke. no one else gets it but everyone enjoys hearing ned cackle like that
clip three: neds leading a cryptonomica tour. he pauses at a hat he might have lifted from his favourite forest ranger. a tourist asks what it is. and we catch a fond smile on his face and he says “oh um, a witch fell in love with a forest ranger, but uhhh, they died under mysterious circumstance and now this hat, it has some magical properties. if you stare at it, its supposed to feel like, a friend is with you”
clip four: jake is holding onto rope thats tied onto the back of mamas truck and ned is in the drivers seat. he yells back “you sure about this jake?” and jake, on his snowboard, replies “please your too old to cause me any real danger” the engine revs and we see jake grip the rope for dear life and a wicked smile creeps onto his face and we hear ned cackling from the truck and we see it take off with jake being towed behind
clip five: its just ned making a cup of coffee at the lodge. hes explaining to barclay his top secret family coffee recipe, the way his ancestors have been drinking it for generations. barclay takes a sip of what is an amalgamation of everything you could possibly put in coffee and chokes on the taste. ned laughs as he takes a sip from his own mug and says “course ive always just enjoyed it black”
clip six: mama ned and aubrey are planning some kind of abomination hunting business. aubrey rushes out the door after deciding to go collect what info she can while mama calls after her to stay put until they have duck so they can all go out but shes already gone. mama sighs and says “that girl is either gonna save the world or be the reason it burns” and ned chuckles “dont worry shes got ned ‘fire-extinguisher’ chicane lookin out for her” mama rolls her eyes but smiles “yeah i guess she does”
clip seven: kirby is asleep at a computer, the camera left running. we hear footsteps off screen and someone picks up the camera. its ned, he fumbles with it for a second, mumbling “fuckin, how do you, darn thing” he sighs and looks into the camera. “sorry kirby i dont know how to work this damn thing.” he says quietly “id wake you but you work too hard you need to sleep. good work today” he puts the camera back down. the video fast forwards and we see kirby still asleep now with a blanket draped over him.
